Mail (again!) and a mystery account SMTP
So, I am using Mail after having "modernized" to 10.11. As for many users, my Exchange account was broken. None of the fixes I've seen have worked. However, I noticed the title of "Doctor of connection" that the Exchange account seems to be duplicated by an account SMTP of the same name, which always fails to connect.
I decided to delete the entire account, thinking that he could solve the problem and... the mystery SMTP account still shows upwards in connection doctor, still unable to connect to anything. However, the account is not listed under 'Accounts' - there are only iCloud and Gmail - and there seems to be no way to delete or even really know what it is.
Is there a way to get rid of him?
Try Mail/preferences/accounts - select an account/Account Information / mail server outgoing (SMTP) and click to select Edit SMTP servers. Once there, select the unwanted SMTP Protocol and delete it using the sign less.

All of my Windows Mail subfolders and the emails contained in disappeared mysteriously.
original title: Windows Mail lost all subfoldersAll of my Windows Mail subfolders and the emails contained in disappeared mysteriously. I closed Windows Mail with all folders and opening Windows Mail again the next day, only the default folders (Inbox, sent, etc.) were present.
I created a new folder named "Test" that I can see has been saved in "C:\Users\San\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders" as well as other folders by default, but I can find no trace of my 20 folders + that I had previously.
Help!
Nobody knows what could have happened and if they might be elsewhere on the HARD drive? I have run several searches looking for folder names, but so far have developed in white.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

original title: refuses to send/receive e-mailWell, you can't always believe them. Try to remove your e-mail account, and then verify that you do not have interference antivirus (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3) then compact and repair the database of WinMail (www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/) and add your account back once again and see if that makes a difference. Also, make sure that you are checking in not too often (like every 2 minutes) for mail (Tools |) Options).

I ran all virus time and time again and cannot get rid of this e-mail worm that continues to move forward, what I can do now, stop using hotmail?
Hello
Why do you think you have an e-mail worm? If you can't name it?
If someone is Spoofing emails that appear to come from you then they probably never
had access to your e-mail account. Instead, they have either a copy of your contacts
list or just an email from you or one of you where you were one of the recipients. Those
could be gleaned either your computer, the computer of a friend, or hacking
any site or intercept an email on your behalf or to you (you may not be the main)
(beneficiary).Once they have this information there is nothing you can do to avoid that they don't
send usurped messages. Warn your friends that is happening and they
can be entitled to install rules such as parodies are treated as SPAM or JUNK
mail.I've even seen usurped by email that appears to be from a valid user name however
This name doesn't have an e-mail account on the mail system used in parody.
As SpiritX - AT - realmail.com may be a valid account, however, parody used
SpiritX - AT - wrongmail.com. The latter could still be considered an email address valid
SpiritX if it was allowed through JUNK and JUNK e-mail filtering. (The - AT - has been used
instead of so that those addresses would not be filtered by auto responses.
as if by magic.)============================================================
Proceed to a very thorough check for malware and then change your password by e-mail.
The reason why you want to do this is to make sure no more hacking your computer is
still in effect (if it has been hacked). You have changed the password once but I would
Change it again after these checks. It is possible for a person to send the email that 'seems' to be of your
account but that is not really - called "Spoofing." That means its 'Possible' emails
were not really you, although they may have your contact list. Have someone
who receives the e-mails to check the header to see where he is actually sent by and
NOT only the answer to the address. How to read the message headers

I tried to use some possible emails at random, but they don't sign on the account. I tried also to creating new parenting profiles to add the link to my family, but that no longer works. I was doing very well with Windows 8 and really liked the tile part until the part of so many mail no longer works when I changed my Yahoo password (after having hacked). Given that the Yahoo account has been used to set up my Microsoft Account for the new computer laptop / Windows 8, this old password appears to be caught in the trap in the system. I can still use the browser to get to Yahoo use e-mail like this, but it is frustrating that the Mail tile is now useless and hand tile is too.
Hello Rob,
The Microsoft Account and Yahoo accounts are two separate accounts. Then the two accounts use the same login ID (your Yahoo email address) and can be configured with the same password; When you change the password for one of the accounts that will not change your password for the account on the other.
If the two accounts used the same password, I suggest to change the password for your Microsoft account and using a separate password for each.
Once the Microsoft Account password has been changed, you should be able to connect to the mail. You may still need to update your email Yahoo mail password of: charms-> settings-> accounts->

24.4.0 version worked fine until yesterday (2014-04-06) running windows 8.1 and all of a sudden he couldn't connetc to the internet (sending/receiving e-mail, update, create a new account...). No change was made on my set up accounts. Other applications to connect correctly to the internet. Some Windows 8.1 updates are automatically applied during the same period (?).

RgdsHi the problem is resolved. I saw a small logo on the first login of Windows 8 window saying "no internet connection available. I connect to the internet before opening a Windows session, and after the opening of the session windows my Thunderbird work again as well as the update of ccleaner...
It seems that, for this Windows 8.1, there are 2 types of internet connections... Mystery?
