Main difference between OWB and ODI

Hello

I have a very long search behind me to know the difference between the two, but the thing the most I found was marketing blah blah blah and not core-facts :(

Can someone tell me the main difference between OWB and ODI. Please only facts and no marketing blah blah blah :)

Also, it would be good that you have a reference (link or something else) of your facts for me

I look forward to your replies

If you want the main difference between the Excel add-in and smartview I'd say it's just they way it connects and retrieves the data. the add-in uses the grid api and tcpip and smartview uses java on the web. There are a ton of differences between the supplement and smartview, but as the versions come thay are close. Here are a few others can add to the list:

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------Add-in------------------------------smartview
works on several office products - no - yes
    Can connect to
    Essbase-----------------------------------------------------------No---------------------------------------Yes
    HFM----------------------------------------------------------------No---------------------------------------Yes
    Planning----------------------------------------------------------No---------------------------------------Yes
Can view members and aliases at once - Yes - No
Leaf specific options - Yes - No
Great shims formatting - Yes - sometimes

  • CDC: Difference between coherent and Simple mode?

    Hello

I would like to know if anyone can explain the main differences between the two modes of the CDC?

In fact, we are interested in implementing a DCC ODI asynchronous Oracle newspaper.
But we would like to make sure that it matches our needs.

I understand that the simple mode is on a table and the consistent on several articulated together.
    But my questions are:

-Could we choose to log table for only some of the columns.
-> If in my table, I'm not interested in the change of some columns, I can 'say' to the CDC do not watch?
or the CDC can tell me which column had been updated?

-in fact, I would like to know what is the difference between Simple and consistent? and if the mode is just a Simple mode for more than one table?
Cause, we need to know what the source columns had been updated for each record, not only the primary key of the record being updated.

I know that Oracle CDC allows it, but I don't know if ODI enable us to see only the columns that have been updated.

    Thanks in advance

    Brice

    Hi Brice,.

AFAIK for a coherent CDC referential integrity must be set at the level DB (PK, FK).
Personally I have never used any logical key, so I'd rather hear for a few experienced comments.

    Thank you
    Fati

  • Difference between (minidump) and (memory.dmp)?

    Separated from this thread.

is there a difference between (minidump) and (memory.dmp) I use windows 10

The main difference is size. Memory dumps are larger and contain a bit more information.

In most situations, it is best to configure the computer to produce a dump of memory the kernel in case of system failure. A complete memory dump is a very large file to manage so it is more convenient to work with kernel images of memory when you try to resolve the blue screen errors.

I suggest that you change your dump file settings to produce an image kernel memory. Select the hotkey Win + X , Control Panel, system, advanced system settings, Advanced tab, and click the button settings to start recovery. Under system failure, select the checkboxes before to write an event to the system log and restart automatically. Change the option Write debugging information by using the scroll to the right for image kernel memory. Click OK , and in the next window, click apply and OK. Restart your computer to apply the changes.

  • Differences between WAP and Malware protection in the power of fire ASA

    Hello

Do you know what are the main differences between terminals AMP installation and activation of malicious software services in the management of Firesight Center?

They are not doing the same thing or is there a big difference?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

There is difference. AMP on client's protection of endpoint that is controlled by the connection of cloud and Firesight central management console can be (optionally) connected to it to collect the reports of customers as well.

While the activation of services of malware in the CMF (firesight) resembles a network based AMP that can detect/prevent malware from traffic passing through a managed sensor.

Final AMP is more for customers who are moving and are not always behind a firewall/sensor protected.

    This could shed more light.

  • Difference between Csico and Cisco Unity Connection unit

What are the main differences between Cisco Unity and Cisco Unity Connection (version 7)

as: 1. in Cisco Unity servers are active - failover Mode and about unity, the servers are in active-active mode

2 Cisco Unity, knows about unity and unified messaging, integrated messaging

What is the major difference between Unified Messaging and integrated messaging?

Please provide some points of difference between the two...

This may well be true today, but the gap could soon close... otherwise disappear.  Cisco is currently in EFT (field-tested at the beginning) or testing "beta" for the connection of the Unit 8.5 (1), which aims to add features of Unified Messaging Unit connection using WebDav for Exchange 2003 and Exchange Web Services (EWS) for Exchange 2007/2010.  Just a nugget to think when you consider the timing of your client to install and what platform would be best suited to most environments.  Take a look at this blog for more information/thoughts:

  • Difference between Routed and Transperant mode on firewall

    Hello

Can someone explain how Routed and transperant on Cisco ASA in simple words...

The main difference is transparent and works routed layer 3 to layer 2.

When the ASA is in routed mode, the networks connected to the ASA on two interfaces must be on different subnets.  While in transparent mode, the subnets can be the same.

Mode routed, as its name suggests, the packets are routed between the interfaces.  In transparent mode, interfaces are bridged so the package is transferred instead of routed (although the inspection and control of the ACL still take place).
