Make a copy of Lion boot disc
Hi, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.
I want to upgrade my OSX but I would first create a bootable Lion on an external hard drive, primarily to continue to use the non supported Final Cut Pro7
Hi Dwyerfen,
I am pleased that the Mac is so easy to start several versions of the operating system on different volumes. Install the operating system on an external hard drive is similar to install on the internal drive.
How to install OS X on an external drive connected to your Mac - Apple Support
Note you want to make sure it is properly formatted first, then follow the appropriate section of the article that applies to the way in which you install the operating system.
Take care.

Satellite A100-784 - how can I make another copy of my recovery disc DVD
Hi all
I have the Satellite A100-784, which comes with Vista Home...
How could I make another copy of the DVD from my recovery disc? Also, I don't have the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator... is downloadable?
Hello
You n t have the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator, because this Toshiba Software is preinstalled on laptops equipped with HARD drive recovery option.
I presume that you have received a Toshiba Recovery disk this laptop doesn t allow HARD drive recovery.
Therefore, you cannot create a new DVD of recovery using the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator. What you could do is to copy the supplied recovery disk.

Make another copy of the DVD from a DVD created from Windows Movie Maker
My laptop was stolen recently and, with it, a slideshow (with audio) I had created on Windows Movie maker. I have a disc I created after the completion of the project. He plays very well on an external DVD drive. However, when I download it on my new laptop or try to copy it to another disk, it does not copy as a movie. It seems that it changes the formats and any copy I made will not play on an external DVD drive. Is there a copyright protection or something embedded on discs created from Movie maker. Any advice on how to make a playable copy would be appreciated.
No copy protection is used.
How are you trying to copy it?
You will need something like roxio or nero and their software disc in copy, or import the movie in movie maker and then recreate the dvd disc again from scratch in your creation to dvd.

need to make a copy of my OS for security reasons.
I don't have an OS disk with my computer and I need to make a copy of my OS to keep on hand in case I have a sys. failure. How to make a copy of my Vista operating system?
Depending on your version of Vista for backup of the computer:

Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed. There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Xps420 - how to install a 2nd HD and make the new drive the boot drive?
I bought a new and more large hard drive for my system XPS420 almost nine. I want to install the new disk, create two partitions as the original (C & D (reprise)) drive, copy all of the original drive to the new drive and make the new drive the boot drive, with the original drive becomes a secondary additional storage drive. I understand how to use the Vista disk management feature to create the partitions and format the new drive. After that, what is the best way to proceed?

Safari does not open, said that he was now closed, so I had to make a copy to open it. Ended up doing this twice so I now have three (two works do not) copies of Safari on my dock. How can I remove the extras?
Drag copies of the icons Safari one inch or more on the dock and wait a few seconds.
And then release the icon. The icon will disappear in a poof of smoke.

or
Right-click on the icon in the Dock, then choose Options > remove from the Dock.

Is it possible to make a copy an aperture slideshow HD? It would be nice to have a copy on a memory stick, so it could be shown to another computer / TV. Since opening refers to its library and the iTunes library to its contents any information is scatered. Make a CD / DVD lowers the resolution.
Export controls of the slide show by using the menu at the top right. Save on the memory stick or elsewhere.
