Make a right-click crashes Explorer in several versions. It is a BUG, not a third-party software error. Difficulty?

In this forum and in many places around the internet (several hundreds) there are people complaining of strange and unexpected behavior in Windows.  I saw this for Windows 8, and I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit experience. The error is simply

(1) If, in the left pane of Windows Explorer (WE), I right-click a specific item, IT crashes with a "Windows Explorer is closing and attempt to restart.

The weird part of this is that

(2) if I click on exactly the same thing in the right pane, I get the menu box expected, no problem.

A photo is below. Given that the same command gives different results when called only slightly differently, and that happens on different platforms, I must conclude that it is a bug persisted in the way Windows handles the right click.  Here are a few things that are NOT useful:

-Execution of SFC/scannow.   My file systems are beautiful, according to this, and I still have the bug

-Running chkdsk /f once again, no errors

-Creating a crash dump file.  When I do that, I symbol search path is: * invalid * I can post all if useful.

Here are a couple of things that may or may not help

-In the course of execution ShellExView and disabling some of the DLLs not microsoft (did not work for me)

-Deletion of a specific key in the registry, it is [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ * \shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\BriefcaseMenu]
@= "{85BBD920-42A0-1069-A2E4-08002B30309D}" it worked for me

Here's what I suspect may have caused this:

-Install Truecrypt 7.1 has and the creation of a file encrypted (by removing the file and uninstall Truecrypt did not help)

-Installation of Oneview (withdrawal did not help)

-Installation of EASEUS backup or a backup of the AOMEI.  (Even once, uninstalling did not help).

OK, I say that this kind of things the uninstaller did not help.  This morning, since the problem has persisted, I rebooted AOMEI.  And that is, do a right-click now works left pane.  AOMEI associated reinstall?  So it is not only a problem, but an unstable.

Anyone can add any idea here?  A real solution?

OK, more information. The question of Spybot is known for them. With the permission of Spybot, if you want to solve the problem without uninstalling Spybot:
Open Spybot (right-click on the icon and "Run as Administrator")
Click on 'User Mode '.
Select settings, and then click tab "System Integration".
Uninstall "Windows Explorer intégration"
Click 'Apply' and 'Ok '.
You can also launch parameters using the icon in the STTray (near the clock on lower ERS.)

As Spybot has been uninstalled, I reinstalled, using the path "I want to control what is installed.
On the "Select additional tasks" box, there is a section 'Intégration' I décliqués the two boxes on an Explorer Autoplay, the other related to the context Menu. I'll report if it does not work.

Thanks to SpyBot for their quick response.

Is your copy of Mozilla's Firefox, or was it provided by your favorite distribution? Maybe your distro added some extra features in Firefox for a better integration. If you haven't already done so, try to download a copy here and see if you get a menu popup long in the executable file:

  • PC restarts after right click on Explorer

    Original title: RON1

WHENEVER I MAKE A CLICK RIGHT ON THE WINDOWS EXPLORER 7 HE WANTS OT RESTART EVERY TIME

    Hi Ron,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    • Remember to no particular change in the computer before the show?
    • What is the brand and model of the computer?

This could be due to any dispute of third party software. I would suggest trying the following methods and check.

Method 1: Start the computer Safe Mode and check if the problem persists. If the problem does not persist in safemode, turn on your computer in a clean boot state and check.

Step 1: Start the computer in Mode safe

Safe mode is an option of troubleshooting for Windows that starts your computer in a limited State. Only basic files and drivers needed to run Windows are started. The words Safe Mode appear in the corners of your monitor to identify which Windows mode you are using.

Please refer to: , start your computer in safe mode

Step 2: Perform a clean boot in order to avoid any conflict of third party software.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Place your system in the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

Method 2: Run the System File Checker tool

System File Checker is a Windows utility that allows users to find corruptions in Windows system files and restore the damaged files.

To do this, click Start, type command or cmd prompt in the Search box, right click invite, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.

At the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

Note: Not close this command prompt window until the audit is 100% full. The results of the analysis will be posted when this process is completed.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • Make a right click on the e-mail list no longer opens the context menu.

    Hello world
Thunderbird collapsed to display the context menu on the mailing list recently. Make a right-click displays just the cross line. What is the problem could be?
    Thanks anyone for any help.

    Win 8.1 64
    Thun 31.3.0

    Very strange.
Make a right click on the email list should open a menu drop-down.
Usually a line crossed through something means that it is marked as deleted in an imap e-mail account.

See if there is a conflict with an add-on.
    Restart Thunderbird in safe mode.
Help > restart with disabled addons.

then run the same test; Right click on the email list.
Do you get the drop down, if so, then one of your addons is the origin of the conflict.
You'd have to disbale each in turn to find what the problem is.
    Maybe the addon should update.
    Report on the results.

  • Windows 7: make a right click does not work and sliders moving to voluntarily

    Hello.

Until these two options, I want just to say I have swapped/changed my mouse without success AND I tried to restore to an earlier point.
My computer won't let me not make a right-click in the installed software (what is Microsoft looks good, but my Kindle app and Google Chrome as affected).
The right click menu will appear, but she disappears before you click on something.
At the same time, I seem to be unable to scroll down (for example, when you used the file > open option and scroll down) using my mouse. The sliders seem to control themselves. If I try to turn down the volume on my computer the cursor automatically moves to highest, and if I try to scroll the cursor automatically try to pull up. I can't stop it, even when I click on it it forces fair itself upward.
Anyone know what on Earth is wrong with the computer? Rebooted, restored, etc etc. I don't want to have to reformat and reinstall Windows 7!
Help! The computer seems to have a mind of your own.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

I indeed checked by safe mode, but also the configuration of system (clean boot) that's causing the problem. He helped eliminate it as a problem with one of the Microsoft software. Also, it was not a physical fault with my laptop. What he helped me identify is the problem with the wireless mouse.
All I had to do was unplug the wireless mouse and put the old fashioned a good with a cable attached to it and the computer was back to normal!
Thanks for the support, he helped sort!

    Hi Paul,.

    1. do you get an error message when you right-click in these two accounts?

2 are you facing this problem when you access a particular program?

3 have you ever done any recent software or changes to the hardware to the computer?

You might face this problem because of the changes in the mouse settings. I suggest you to change the settings of the mouse for these two accounts once more and check.

You can see the following article from Microsoft to change the mouse settings.

Not a huge biggie, but I have updated to PSE13 (like improvements, in particular the Undo feature; and the stability of PSE13 compared to 12 [for Mac which is]) I'm running OS Mavericks X 10.9.5. My camera a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 (camera great by-the-way). Now if I right click on the image of RW2 I do not receive an option to open with PSE13 which seems strange to me. I used 'open with' other PSE13 Publisher and chose always open with PSE13 said. So now as soon as I left click upward is PSE13 for editing that was precisely what I was looking for. The default value on the RC is PhotoMatix which I use occasionally. "Topaz" plug-ins simply hover of 12 to 13 so all very well that this stupid thing on the RC.

So why not make an option open with PSE13 if you right-click a RW2 file? Everything on the hard drive offers this choice; other than my camera RW2 files.

    RC = right click.

    Thanks in advance

    Mozzy.

  • Why is it harder to make a right-click on my magic mouse?

Here is the situation. I have a magic mouse (and a wireless keyboard). Death of my MacBook Pro, if my company try it swapped for a new (but with less RAM). Before the Exchange, it was easy to make with my magic mouse right click. I would click on the right side of the mouse. Easy.

Now, it is very difficult. It just seems to be random. In some contexts, it recognizes a right click. In others, but he acknowledged just a left click. Above all, do a right click does not work. I tried new batteries. That did not help. I have just unpairing and repair. That did not help either.

I am SURE that I am clicking far enough to the right, as I'm clicking on the edge very right of the mouse.

My old laptop was on the Mavericks. This one is on El Capitan. Not sure if that makes a difference or if there is another parameter.
