malware "shop at home".

I don't know how the website "Shop at home" arrived on my computer, but it seems to have replaced Safari and is now my search engine.  How can I remove it?

He did not replace Safari but has replaced your search engine. Is it not what you meant? Have you tried to change the search engine in Safari preferences > search? If it is really malware, then:

Pop-up and Adware fixings

1. Malwarebytes

2. DetectX 2.11

3. remove the advertising software that shows ads advertising and graphics on your Mac.

4. stop the advertising windows pop-up and adware in Safari - Apple Support

[Please ignore the remarks such as 'do not use any type of product, "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" on a Mac. "] These admonitions are an exaggeration. They may be necessary in some situations but need cannot be installed or used in all cases. In addition, adware removal programs make it easier the removal task. They need no installation perm to remove adware or other types of malware. [They do no damage, and they don't make you more vulnerable to the attacks.]

Setting pop-up Windows Safari

[The following is the user stevejobsfan0123. [I made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.]

Difficulty a few pop ups browser that supported Safari

Common pop - ups include a message saying that the Government has taken over your computer and you pay release (often called "Moneypak"), or a false message saying that your computer has been infected and you need to call a number of tech support (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it to be resolved. First of all, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and that your computer has not been assigned. This "hack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so don't pay not money, call number, or provide personal information. This article will give an overview of the solution to remove the pop-up window.

Quit Safari

Usually, these pop-ups will not go by clicking 'OK' or 'Cancel '. In addition, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in grey, including the option to leave Safari. You'll probably force quit Safari. To do this, press command + option + ESC, select Safari, press on force quit.

Relaunch Safari

If you restart Safari, the page will reopen. To avoid this, hold the "Shift" key when opening Safari. This will prevent windows since the last time that Safari was running since the reopening.

It will not work in all cases. The SHIFT key must be maintained at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window is displayed again. In these circumstances, after force quit Safari, turn off Wi - Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then restart Safari normally. He'll try to reload the malicious Web page, but without a connection, it will not be able to. Leave this page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com and try to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet and the page that you entered is displayed rather than the malicious.

I guess you're under Windows... Let's start by removing software ShopAtHome. This may take a few minutes, but it's very doable.

This is my procedure suggested to track down and cleaning of the bad modules. Sorry for the length - it is not as bad as it sounds:

    (1) open the Control Panel, uninstall a program (or on XP: Add/Remove Programs). After the loading of the list, click on the column heading "installed on" to group infections, I mean additions by date. This can help the undisclosed items bundle smoker who snuck out with some software, you have agreed to install. Out as much garbage as possible here.

    (2) open Firefox page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click on Plugins. Set essential and unrecognized plugins 'never enable '.

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    Any improvement?

    (3) you can search the rest of problems with scanning/cleaning tools listed in our technical support article: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware. These scanners on request are free and take a long time to run. If they end quickly, especially if they require the payment you have a serious infection. I suggest the specialty forums listed in the article in this case.

  • How to choose affordable beginners Apple Desktop

I currently own my first Apple products, iPhone SE 64 GB (Wi - Fi and cell phones) and iPad 16 (wifi only).

want to buy a desktop Apple computer but want to know how to get what is best for me. I just curren do daily and web task to research. I do take photo lite and like downloading things like revenue and good books. Any advice would help, and I'm on a budget lite (that will be the Christmas present to myself)

I would say the iMac clocked at 1.6 GHz for you. It's the iMac price lowest right now, and you are saying that you will use for this will fit easily Bill. Here are the specs of this model:

    http://www.Apple.com/iMac/specs/

The Apple price is $ 1 099, but sometimes you can get this model from Best Buy for between 75 and 100 dollars less. However, I have a website refurb Apple located today for $929. It is the best deal you can get on this model at present. On this site the wick at hand varies from day to day... even from hour to hour then when you are ready to buy, it's time to check for the desired model. Here's the refurb site address:

    http://www.Apple.com/Shop/Browse/home/specialdeals

Don't be afraid of the quality of the elements of this site. The elements are completely renovated and all are fully tested by Apple before shipping. The Apple 1 year warranty is included and it is treated by identical to a new Apple computer. Here's where they have the chance to have in stock today:

    http://www.Apple.com/shop/product/FK142LL/A/refurbished-215-inch-iMac-16GHz-dual - core intel core i5

There is also the Mac Mini for about half the price of an iMac, but you have to buy a monitor, keyboard and mouse separately. You could end up paying about the same as an iMac at the time wherever you are finished. IMHO, the all-in-one iMac is less intrusive sitting on your desktop.

  • No new Macbook Pro...?

OK, here it is... I'm still working out of my mid-2009 13 "Macbook Pro.  I love the computer and have no problems with it, except that it's a bit old and a bit slow.  I'm a graphic designer and use a higher power.  I decided to do web design as well as a video montage.  I tried initially to the 15 "Macbook Pro, until I've heard talk about an update may be just around the corner.  13 June came and went with no new Macbook Pro.  Rumor has it that the 4th quarter is a better bet for an update.

The currently available 15 "Macbook Pro is not up to form today's availability for computers not mac.   Before that I let fall $2500 +, I need some advice.  Correspond to the old 15 "Macbook Pro is worth it or should I consider other options?  I need to make a decision in the very near future.

    Thanks in advance!

No mention of the next round of MBP to correct.

We cannot speculate, however, we know new version don't occur until Sept/Oct.

The 2015 MBP is pretty sweet on all fronts.

Visit refurb/certificate if you want to save a few bucks. Same 1 year warranty with the option to purchase the extended warranty. Open boxes, returns etc through all the diagnostic test of apples.

  • You suggested that I update the toolbar (or something) and I inadvertently deleted something Symantec and Norton Secure. How to make a comeback?

I tried so many sites, I don't really remember what you had me do. But he had to do with the removal of modules (I think) that I do not use. So I clicked on one that had something to do with shopping at home and perhaps two others. So I said OK. However, you had shown automatically remove Norton Secure, log in and another that had to do with Symantec - I think that he told IPS? Well now the secure log in has disappeared, and so are my passwords! I want to again, but I don't know how to get it. Help!

#1 - ADDED EDIT: I just found the reference to the toolbar ShopAtHome, also named "Toolbar of Shopping smart"; that search in Control Panel > Add / Remove programs and then click on to remove/uninstall. Make sure Firefox is closed prior to the abduction, if it is there

EDIT #2 - ADDED: I saw where there may be a file named SelectRebatesUninstall.exe on your computer in the location c:\program files\SelectRebates\. If you find, click/double click on the file and let me know the results.

Have you looked into C:\Program Files for one or more folders named shop at home and/or select refunds and/or the Smart Shopping toolbar? If one (or both) are / are there, close Firefox (Firefox button > exit OR File > Exit), open the folder and look for a file named uninstall.exeand click/double click on this file uninstall.exe . Let me know your results.
