Manual update of 31.0 Firefox cannot complete copy to Applications because issue "Firefox" already present even if the previous version deleted, update closes.

Update I tried several times, deleted the first 30.0 version. Don't have a copy of Firefox work for the moment.

When you try to exit Firefox 30.0 to update, it crashed. Don't know if this is relevant.

Will try to install an older version.

How to install an older version go?

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

  1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
  2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
  3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    • Windows:

      • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
      • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
    • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
    • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
  4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
    2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

More information on the resettlement of Firefox can be found here.

WARNING: Do not use an uninstaller to third parties as part of this process. This could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and passwords saved. They can be retrieved easily unless they have been backed up on an external device! See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.

Please report to say if this helped you!

Thank you.

  • Cannot install 10.0.1 (9) on a Mac (can not select the previous version)

I can't install 10.0.1 on 9.4.1 on my Mac (10.6.6) because I can't select the previous version during the installation... I thought maybe I needed version 10 update, but I've been downloadable "older versions" of Adobe and he just 9.4.

Is there something else, or someone has a FTP URL with version 10.0.0 available for download?

You are probably trying to install update and not full installer. 10.0.1 update can be installed only if drive X is in your system. Here you have Reader 9.4. You can update this Reader 9.4.2 and not 10.0.1

If you want to install Reader X on Mac, go to http://get.adobe.com/reader

This will download Reader X (10.0.1 full installer that includes the update) package on your system. Run the package to install the Player 10.0.1 on your system

  • How can I recover my favorites from the previous version of Firefox?

I just loaded the new version of Firefox. My Favorites from the previous version have disappeared. How can I get back them? I went through the provided recovery method, nothing.

Do you still have backups of bookmark in the bookmarkbackups folder?

You have an "Old data Firefox" folder on the desktop in the case where you have refreshed Firefox and created a new profile?

You can retrieve the form of the data of the 'Old Firefox Data' folder, but be careful.

You can copy files like these in your current Firefox profile folder.

    • bookmarks/history: backups in the bookmarkbackups folder and perhaps places.sqlite, if you really need the history
    • other SQLite files cookies.sqlite (cookies) and formhistory.sqlite (saved form data)
    • logins. JSON and signons3.txt (decryption key) of the saved passwords in password manager
    • Permissions.SQLite and, possibly, content - prefs.sqlite permissions and Site preferences
    • cert8. DB for stored intermediate certificates (Certificate Manager)
    • sessionstore.js to open and pinned tabs and tab groups
    • Persdict.dat for the words that you added to the spelling dictionary

Note that "Reset/Refresh" creates a new default profile with a time stamp to identify it and trying to retrieve settings such as Favorites and history and history and cookies and passwords, data of automatic filling of the old profile, but you lose data such as the installed extensions and other customizations.
The current profile folder will be moved to the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop.

I'm on windows 7 and I've upgraded to the latest version of firefox, and now it will not open. I completely deleted firefox and transferred again, and it does not work. Please help - y at - it a live chat or a number to speak to someone at Firefox?

-Microsoft got a big update last night for the Windows 7 and I came this morning I was wondering if the update would help my FireFox. I thought it might because a lot of things in this forum said it was a security problem and they have been updated with security updates. SHAZAM! Firefox is now the new my browser to goto. Very happy to resume. Once more I did anything this morning, but click the icon after the big windows 7 update and we're back in business. Thanks for all your help!

  • How to revert to the previous version. Last update makes the new windows appear less of a complete new window should appear.

I have my system tell me when a new update is available. Happened today. I downloaded the latest update. My Firefox now sits at 38.0.1.

I use no legs. I want a new separate window for all that I opened. Since the upgrade this morning... when I open a new window, it is fine. But when I click on something in that window when a new opens up and it doesn't seem to be an entirely new window. There is no tool bar and it doesn't seem to be a way to have displayed toolbars. So I have no control over this new window except to reduce to a minimum or nearby. That's all. It does not appear as a tab either.

    It sucks! This was?

How to return to the previous version before upgrading this morning? Otherwise I'll have to find another application to use other than Firefox, because I don't like it at all.

    Thank you

Another solution is to modify some hidden settings related to windows dialog style. Should not you make changes to the way you use Firefox, but sometimes you need to enlarge some small pop-up windows that have been sized for a window with no toolbar displayed.

    Here are the steps:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste feat and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) for each preference that begins with dom.disable_window_open_feature. , if it is not 'true', double-click it to true.

You may find that you prefer this anyway, given that sites can band is more these pop-up windows features.

Firefox is automatically promoted to the 34.0.5 do not know what I had before, but I want to go back to what version came before that. I hate what spent my field of research. The only reason why I didn't completely Chrome switchd was the facility to change to a different search option. I could just click the dropdown in the search box and click the seardh option I wanted. Now, a new window opens where I have to click another menu dropdown to access my search options. It sucks! I want to go back to the previous version but don't know if it's possible. Any help would be great!

You can return to the range of older search like this bar.

Open Subject: config (typed in the address bar)
Do a right click and toggle this false preference

    browser.search.showOneOffButtons

    Then restart Firefox.

    Hello Bretus,

Please contact the Mozilla Support and I am sorry that this update is not compatible with the extensions you use.

Kaspersky support forums mention that these extensions will be updated soon, so that they are compatible with FF25. In the meantime, we do not recommend that downgrade you your version of Firefox, but you can find instructions and download locations for previous versions here:

Install an older version of Firefox

Please let us know if this solves your problem.

    Cheers, Patrick

  • I have Firefox 8.0.1 and since the update to it, some sites, I need to go so that Firefox will not accept certificates which is accepted in the previous version. I can not get the permanent exception and must uncheck permanent and do every time.

I have Firefox 8.0.1 and since the update to it, some sites, I need to go so that Firefox will not accept certificates which is accepted in the previous version. I can not get the permanent exception and must uncheck permanent

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: opens showing the file

It is not usually necessary to create an exception for the certificates.

Possible causes are that a server does not send the full (intermediate) certificate chain or self signed certificates.

  • Hello. I installed the latest version of Firefox and I don't like. How can I go on back to the previous version (3.6.3 I think)? Thanks, Geoff

I think the latest version is very slow when you access web pages. I want to return to the previous version to see if it's better. How can I go about changing back?

To return to the previous secure version which is 3.6.17, follow these steps:

    1. Go to Download Firefox v3.6.17 and upload it to the office.
    2. Then go to add/remove programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and delete it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, etc., the customizations (don't tick the box).
    3. Reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    4. Finally, run the installation file downloaded previously on the desktop.

Your bookmarks, etc., customizations are stored in a different location and will become available to you even once you complete the installation.

After completing the installation, go to the Plugins check page and update if necessary.

However, before go you that route, here are some tips to make it look like the previous version of FF4.

    • Right-click on an empty part of the toolbar tab and click "Tabs on top" to remove the check mark. Tabs later reappears under the search bar.
    • Repeat the same steps, but click on the top of the page, one called 'Menu bar '. This will restore the text at the top links.
    • To rearrange the layout, repeat the same steps and choose "Customize". A Panel opens and who remains on the screen, you can move elements like toolbars, buttons etc. around and place them anywhere you want. You can also drag anything there that you don't like Panel and add anything you want by dragging it out of there.
    • To replace the status bar at the bottom of the page, install this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/
  • Older versions of Firefox are working perfectly, but the latest version does not open.

Mozilla Firefox version 34.0.5 (x 86 en - us) when loaded down does not open. I tried to change the Admin, but to no avail. I rebooted the previous version of firefox and it worked perfectly until it was replaced with the automatic update. I have a laptop Asus G74S model with Windows 7.

It should not. The subscription expires, the program stops working.
All that has to happen is you get a warning to re - register. If you
wish, you can contact their support and ask about it.
    Did you remove this program?

  • I need to download firefox 9.0 as a toolbar I use is not compatible with 10.0. Where can I download the previous version? Thank you

I went to check my version information by selecting everything under the Help menu. Firefox started downloading the update and prompted me when he finished. I approved it, not realizing it would update to 10.0. A toolbar I use is not compatible with the new version, so I need to download the previous version. Can someone tell me how to find 9.0. Thank you

To secure your computer and your files, you should not go back to Firefox 9. 10 Firefox includes security fixes. You may be able to make your toolbar works with the journalist of compatibility module as described in this article to reactivate the modules that have been disabled when upgrading from Firefox.

If you really must go back to Firefox 9, you can find it here: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/9.0.1/win32/

  • Found 0 results for how to UNINSTALL Firefox 9.0.1? I installed it last night and Firefox crashed maybe 20 times since then. The previous version crashes almost never. Help, please

Since installing Firefox 9.0.1 YESTERDAY evening on my iMac, which is running OSX v. 10.5.8, Firefox hangs now every few minutes. It often happens that I'm going from one site to the other - when I click on a site referenced to my favorites, Firefox crashes as the following website is coming. I've NEVER had this problem with Firefox before. I need to uninstall it and go back to the previous version of Firefox, but OSX is not a simple routine "back to the previous configuration. Or... Please immediately send a fix for version 9.0.1 (assuming that others have the same problem).

Follow the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:

Check and tell if its working.

Might not be related to your problem, but some of your Plugins are out of date

    • Update all of your Firefox Plugins-> https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
    • During the installation of the Plugins download files hotfix, remove the check mark to download any other software options with your Plugins (for example, toolbars, McAfee, Google Chrome, etc.)
