Many users of Windows 7 on the single computer at home.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium on one computer.  I sometimes use this computer for a side business.  My wife also sometimes uses this computer for a side business.  Is this acceptable in the terms of use?

Yes, no problem with that. That's why when you create additional user accounts, it gives access to applications without worrying the license to the software is in the name of a user on the computer.

If you have Windows 7 with an OEM license agreement (it came pre-installed on the computer is the most likely scenario for this, but you can buy OEM copies so) or you have a license to retail (upgrade or full version) - the way your question is worded is very specific - you * can * install Windows 7 costs/clean on this same system as much as you wish.  A new hard drive won't stop you activation - well that at some point, you need to activate by phone, as opposed to over the Internet.

Now - if the motherboard is replaced and it's licensed OEM and replacement was not that of the OEM that probably set up your computer...  Then you have a problem.

Unless you happen to have a license of Windows 7 retail sales, so it is not related to the computer (motherboard).

  • install two copies of windows oem on the same computer

Installation of two separate copies of OEM windows 7 on the same computer (an ultimate, a home premium, the two 64 bit) the problem is that I can't hide (do it completely unavailable - mask not only) the first installed OS of each from the second partition (identified as "oem partition") when it is started in the second operating system.

I would like to do to use the ultimate as a main working OS operating system (be able to load up with various applications, databases of workers etc. etc., that once everything is loaded tends to emphasize the system a little (it does not as effectively as I would like).) I would then use the partition Home premium for latency sensitive things. boot between the two and other work is managed by linux (grub 2)

the disks are defined as readers of ahci uefi (couple of ssd for boot/apps/pagefile)

Is it still possible? (even with me having to buy the commercial versions of the os (non - oem), or microsoft is trying to wrest a sort of copy protection scheme

the two disks (main) are set up as follows
/ dev/sda1 to fat32 (for gpt disks) startup (resized to 500 MB of 128)
/ dev/sda2 unknown ms reserved (this is set here as part of microsofts uefi partitioning installation sequence)
/ dev/sda3 ntfs first installation (7 ultimate) operating system

dev/sdb1 unknown ms reserved (see above)
dev/sdb2 ntfs second os install - he actually complains during installation that it cannot install on the partition, but he does it anyway

Thanks in advance for any help

I forgot to add the second installed operating system know the partition indicator 'hide '.

I have deleted 1 of 3 users on XP Pro.  The program allowed me to save the contents to a folder on the desktop, I did.  I checked the desktop, all data file and pix were there. Then I rebooted.  Open my user account.  All icons were present, but empty, no program.  Go to START - programs, all programs present but empty.  Could not run any program.  I restarted again, and after the Dell startup screen, the screen is black.  Cannot start in safe mode, will not open windows.  I have an XP Reinstall disk but not a recovery disk.

  • Lack of Snipping tool in the interface user of Windows 8 (NOT THE DESKTOP), but in any Windows Apps Store

Is there any tool to capture in the user of Windows 8 interface?
The only way I figured out was to use the PRINT SCREEN

If none of these tools, it is a very big lack not being able to take just one part of a screen in the user of Windows 8 interface

    Windows 8 Pro (MSDN)

I know where it is that I use daily and very often.  It does everything not in the user of Windows 8 interface
On the desktop, there is no problem with him, but as soon as you go into the user interface of Windows 8 it is a similar tool when we are in the interface user of Windows 8 (Windows Store apps) so there's no way to use it?

    Hello

Workaround for this would be to create a screenshot in the App Store, load the screenshot in Paint and and crop the image of what you want.

There is a new keyboard shortcut in Windows 8 to create screenshots.

    1. press Windows + PRTSCN key. This will create a screenshot and automatically put my Pictures\Screenshots in your folder.

    2. open the screenshot in Paint and use the Select + tools to harvest.

  • about stored user name and password on the XP computer

    Hello
I have a question about stored username and password on XP pro computer.
If you go into control panel - user - accounts select the account name and there is an option to click on manage my network passwords.
I have this computer from someone and I checked the "window system" under control panel, under the name of my computer, it says that this computer is part of the Working Group, not in the network domain.
but I checked the manage my network passwords window and I found a saved username something like that...

    • Server: domainname.com
    • username: www.domainname.com/something

This server name, address domainname.com, that I found on the list seems to exist as a real Web site and that the stored information seem to be created automatically for some reason any (not manually), but I was wondering what it is exactly...
This means that my computer (my user account) is a network of area or participate in a domain network? or is it just to access the site online?

Here's the link talking about stored username and passwords on XP, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306541
but I'm still confused because they speak of domain or the domain network? and my computer is in the Working Group, not in the domain network according to panel system from my computer window.

If anyone can help me with an answer, I would really appreciate it!

    Thanks in advance.

This means that my computer (my user account) is a network of area or participate in a domain network? or is it just to access the site online?

Certainly, your computer is not connected to a domain or a domain environment. If you use your computer at home without any connected networks, it is not connected to a domain as such. By default, a computer would belong to a workgroup.

You just leave things as they are.

  • Activation of Windows 8 on the new computer

I bought a new computer HP Envy and after turn on and through the stages of windows 8 for the first time, I did a windows update.  That's when the trouble started.

When the update is finished, he gave me the message saying that the update failed and returning changes.  This change in recovery took some time.  After that is completed, windows is activated is no longer and he wants me to activate windows 8 by buying another key.

I called HP and after many hours with their technology support the people, and re-start with restoration media which they sent me and get another key windows 8 Microsoft and typing in this new key, I have finally reactivated windows 8, did the updates, only to find the exact message update failed and there back the changes.

Now, windows is not activated yet and I'm in the same place that I was two weeks ago.

This seems to be a software problem, but how can I solve this problem?

Well, I managed to upgrade my computer to windows 8.1.  The download took a lot of time.  After the upgrade, I typed in the same product activation code and he accepted as he had all of the previous times.  This time however, he did not that windows is not activated.  After several times, it still works well.

I guess that it was a type of windows 8.0 but that 8.1 fixed.

  • Activation of Windows XP in the new computer.

-Old hard drive, the new Machine

I have a hard drive with Windows XP.  The machine from Dell, in which it was loaded crashes - most likely a motherboard problem.  I installed the HDD on another machine that has had its hard drive failure - virus suspected, etc..  The combination of 'new' hard drive with Windows XP and the Dell with the card mother work seems to work.  I get the error that I have to reactivate Windows XP to connect.  I can't connect Internet (I have not discovered why in this case) and the result by telephone (voice) says that ID is not on file (?) and gives a Web site for activation.  I can't access the Web on the machine, and the Microsoft Web site with the "solution" has the answer in form of download - once again, not good because I can't access the Web with the machine in need of activation.  The phone translates a computer, not a person.  I changed nothing other than to remove the hard drive of a machine which does not to whoever's doing.  What can I do?  Thank you.

The operating system of Windows XP which is not the operating system on which was installed when you purchased the Dell hard disk from Dell? If so, it's probably an OEM version and as such is "related" to the system BIOS, it came with. It will not activate connected to a system with a different motherboard and a different BIOS. In addition, if an OEM, software license version is no longer valid because it is no longer used with the material with which it was purchased.

The reason why you can't get an Internet connection is bound. Since the XP system on the hard drive has been used in the Dell system, it is configured to be used in the Dell. There the drivers for the Dell hardware installed. You will need to identify the current computer's ethernet card, download and install the appropriate drivers for this card.

It is a method for activation of the phone:

How to activate Windows XP by phone:
To contact a Microsoft customer service representative to activate Windows by phone, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, point to programs, point to Accessories, point to system tools, and then click on activate Windows.

    Or,

    1. click on the Activation of Windows in the notification area icon.
    2. click on Yes, I want to telephone a representative of active windows customer service now.
    3. click read the Windows Product Activation privacy statement, click back, and then click Next.
    4. follow the steps to activate Windows by phone dialog box, and then click Next.

  • How can I recover data from a disk that has been done under windows xp with the new computer that is running windows 7?

My drive has been created using a windows xp windows live care and my new computer works with windows 7. How can I get information on the new computer. When I tried to download the software of microsoft it would allow me to do. Any ideas?

    Hi Dorene33,

    ·         What exactly happens when you try to download the software?

    ·         You receive an error message?

    ·         You are able to access drive from devices and printers?

    ·         What happens exactly when you double click on the drive and try to open it?

I suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malware

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: While running scan on the hard drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when scanning try to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

    Hope this information helps.
