Mapping of columns with different data type of sql teradata source target

Hello

I get a problem after upgrading our version of the Golden Gate to Version 11.2.1.0.13 17435036.

Source DB: Sql Server

Target the DB: Teradata

We have generated the definition file and put it in the target server.

The table structure for one of the target server table differs from the source server. Average datatype of some columns in a table is different than it is in the source.

During replication, it throws an error that incompatibility of data type.

Is there a keyword in Oracle Golden Gate, that we can use in parameter files to eliminate this error where Golden Gate will automatically match the columns.

Before this upgrade version of Golden Gate in the source and target, everything worked well.

Any help in this direction will be really appreciated.

Bipul Singh

Hi, ok, I knew this could be the case, but wanted to check your DDL first, but a change in the way BIT data types are stored in the path took place between versions 11.1 and 11.2.  The ILO data are coming in the target as 0x00 and 0x01, which SQL Server manages without conversion, but other targets will have to use the @NUMBIN function in your COLMAP clause to convert the BIT smallint.  And I don't actually know that the SMALLINT will map correctly, but I believe that is should.

Here is an example:

card dbo.XXX, target "SCHEMA". "" XXX_T0 ", colmap (usedefaults Roving_Bit=@NUMBIN (Roving_Bit)...

You will have to do for all types of data BIT also.

    Above, you said that table2.col1 was a NUMBER.
    Below, is a VARCHAR2:

    How to join table1.col1 table2.col1? since they are different data types... .i tried to use To_char but then I got 0 zero,.

    Your postal code. I think the best way is to use TO_CHAR, but maybe you were using it differently.

    SELECT     *
    FROM     table1
    JOIN     table2     ON     NVL ( LTRIM (table1.col1, '0')
                       , '0'
                       )     = TO_CHAR (table2.col1)
    ;

    This assumes that table1.col1 never contains decimal points, unary + signs, exhibitors, or other things like that.
    He will be responsible for negative numbers, but if table1.col1 contains 0 in front after the sign less (for example '-0012' "), then the solution is a bit more complicated.

  • How to convert an array of string elements to a cluster with elements named different data types?

    I'm looking for more help with the conversion of an array of elements of the chain in a cluster containing elements named different data types.

    I am importing data from an Excel worksheet.  He is coming in LabVIEW as separate (channels) 3 tables: 1) Variable name, (2) three possibilities Int, double, String) data type and the value 3), with the clues in each table corresponding to a separate variable (I have about 180 variables to import).  My ultimate goal is to convert the string array of 'Value' in a cluster.  But I want the correct data type in the cluster and I also the elements of the cluster name to match with the string 'Variable name' table so that I can use the Unbundle based on the name in my main VI.

    Please see attachment a Subvi for more details.  I did the size of the new items of tables 5 for simplicity.   I realize that labels property cannot be changed during execution and I don't think I need to do.  I just want to use the production cluster (mainly the unbundle by name) to help design my main VI.  I will need to 'read' and 'write for' the cluster during execution, but I won't need to change the names of the items.

    I was also wondering if there is a better way to import data from Excel?  Is it possible to import directly into a cluster immediately rather than put everything as strings?  I have attached a Subvi showing how I currently bring in data (found on the forum somewhere).  It comes as table 2D, which I divided into 3 separate tables that I mention above.

    I am open to any suggestion.  Thank you very much.

    -Mike

    Instead of trying to create a cluster, I think I would use only variant attributes.

    Using forms 6i how a list item field type DATE data which may contain names of days?

    Set your date as a hidden field (not shown) column. Create your item list with the names of day of varchar2. Create the list item as a base table field that accepts the values of text in the names of the days. On this area, create a when-validate-item trigger that translated the text into an actual date that it then uses to set the value of the real object of the base table.

    USER_TAB_COLUMNS data dictionary view has a row for each column of each table in your schema. The columns TABLE_NAME, COLUMN_NAME and DATA_TYPE contains all the information you need.

  • Probable bug with decimal data type mapping in storage of XmlType relational object

    Hello

    I'm having a problem with what appears to be a bug me when Oracle creates the mapping object / relational schema for a data type "XSD: Decimal":

    I want to store geo codes 6 fractional digits, so I need to 3 digits to the left and 6 digits to the right of the decimal point.

    In the XSD data type restrictions, which would give me a 'fractionDigits' and a 'totalDigits' 9 6.

    Oracle must convert this number (9, 6).

    However, what Oracle made out that is a NUMBER (15.6)

    In order to get an Oracle to generate a NUMBER (9, 6), I need to qualify the 'totalDigits' 3, which is accepted by Oracle, but makes my schema invalid for virtually any other application XML, because it violates the official specs of XSD:

    http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-2/#RF-fractionDigits:

    4.3.12.4 constraints on fractionDigits components of schema

    Schema component constraint: fractionDigits less than or equal to totalDigits

    It is an error for fractionDigits is greater than totalDigits.

    Is it possible to have the good totalDigits of 9 in my scheme and force the Oracle to translate that into NUMBER (9,6)?

    Maybe some attribute oraxdb I do not know yet?

    I'm surprised that this has not been found earlier.

    There was an announcement about this before, but he did not get the real answers:

    TotalDigits and fractionDigits to number conversion problem

    Here is my complete code example:

    end;
    /

    In the XSD data type restrictions, which would give me a 'fractionDigits' and a 'totalDigits' 9 6.

    Oracle must convert this number (9, 6).

    And that's where you're wrong.

    fractionDigits = 6 means at least 6 digits located to the right of the decimal point.

    This is different from the semantics of NUMBER (m, n), where n is exactly n fractional digits stored.

    123.456789 is a valid number by the XSD.

    123456789 is as valid a number, but of course it does not fit in a NUMBER (9.6).

    Oracle must create a NUMBER (15.6) to store any number of valid schema, it is a necessary condition.

    But this is not a sufficient condition: obviously, any number in a NUMBER (15.6) is not valid per the XSD, and this is where the schema validation occurs to enforce the constraints of two facets.

    Here are some examples:

    BEGIN

    DBMS_XMLSCHEMA. REGISTERSCHEMA)

    schemaURL-online "decimaltest.xsd."

    schemaDoc =>

    '

    http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"elementFormDefault ="qualified"xmlns:oraxdb ="http://xmlns.oracle.com/xdb"oraxdb:storeVarrayAsTable ="true"oraxdb:schemaURL ="http://localhost/decimaltest.xsd">" "

  • Mapping of Data Type from SQL Server to Oracle

    I use Oracle 12 c with heterogeneous services connects to SQL server DB. Some of the columns in the SB of SQL Server are defined as 'nvarchar (max). These come to Oracle as columns of type "long". I would like that these are 'varchar2' types in Oracle, so I do not have any restrictions related to the fields of type "long" when using. I can create a view in SQL Server to convert the data type IE. nvarchar (100). What is the highest value that I can use to make the data to display in Oracle as a varchar? BTW, I tried nvarchar (4000), but which showed any longer. I tried nvarchar (1000) and who showed as a varchar.

    The maximum value for an nvarchar2 in Oracle is 2000. Mapping - If the remote column is mapped to an Oracle varchar/nvarchar - depends on the type of data returned by the ODBC driver. When the driver returns SQL_Varchar, then the maximum precision is 4000 and when it will map it to SQL_WVarchar then it's 2000.

    As your Oracle database uses AL32UTF8 as set of characters that the maps to the Oracle long as your SQL Server nvarchar content is stored using characters UCS2 nvarchar (max), you will get the value that is covered by the database Oracle UTF8 character set. So it shouldn't really matter if the returned string is mapped to an Oracle, varchar or nvarchar.

    Hi all

    May I ask, how do to change all the data type of columns using a single click? I want to import a csv file that has more columns then 200. When I use SQL Developer to impoprt it to the Oracle database, there is the possibility to change the data type of the columns, but it is posibble only on a column-by-column. How can I do this with just a click of mouse? In the csv file, there are only numbers, not alphabetic or other characters. But SQL Developer sets automaticully VarChar for all columns when importing the csv file. And if the data type of the columns is of type varChar, the data mining model produced only 10% of predictive confidence. If the columns integer (number), the trust is more than 80%. I use about 50 tables, and each table has more than 200 columns, so changing the data type of columns by a something inhuman is ::(((
    I saved the csv as xlsx file, but when I tried to import it with SQL Developer, I chose this xlsx and Developer SQL closed the import window. If I can't import xlsx...

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you!!!

    You can send the generated here script? I just want to see the DDL Create of the Table and some examples of INSERT statements.

    To remove the rows in the Table, you can run this in the worksheet:

    DELETE

    ;
    COMMIT;

    You can run the Create Table DDL (skip all INSERT queries) to create the table. Then, use the Import Wizard to import data in this table (column all should have correct data types). In the Import Wizard, you can specify the Table to import the data.

Java.util.Calendar, java.util.Date, or oracle.jbo.domain.Date to get a date in adf when scanning automatically your incoming xml file. See this thread on the forum for more information jdeveloper Re: how to deal with xsd: DateTime to webservice in ADF? The answer that gives Frank Nimphius is correct but I used option 1 option 2 should also work.

    Kind regards
    André
