MassConvert PDF to PDF format to reduce the size of a batch?

Hello

I got a beautiful spot. Let me tell you...

I have hv around 10,000 PDFs produced by a copymachine in different folders

for example

\PDF\20110101\A - Z\ * .pdf (in each subfolder 'A', you have several PDF files inside, even for 'B'...)

\PDF\20110102\A-Z\ * .pdf

\PDF\20110103\A-Z\ * .pdf

on my server. The problem is, that the PDFs are too big and I need to convert it

.) with the same name

.) in the same folder (overwrite)

a smaller size. I tried manually to open the first 100 in my Acrobat and then I do a "Save as" with overwrite the existing file. The size is now perfect (Original: 7,958 KB / new: 1,228 KB) OCR are not necessary.

Is there a way to do this in a batch or script or...

TKS for your help

Erich

Whenever I have load a very simple PDF and try to reduce the size of file (5.6 MB say less than 1 MB) Acrobat Pro CC freezes on my Mac.  I noticed it happens on several Macs running the Mavericks.  File was generated from Showbiz budgeting software Build 8.83.  Optimize the accidents off too.  Any suggestions?

  • How can I reduce the size of the file when you save a psd in pdf format

I have a psd with graphics and text, it is 8.5 x 11, 300 dpi

I flatten the image and go to save as .pdf file I uncheck all options in general.

Compression, I tried a dozen different combinations and the way I found to get a document that is not pixelated or blurred is to use JPEG 2000 > lossless or jpeg > maximum.

So I have a document of high quality but the file sizes are approximately 900 KB.

I downloaded the documents of others of the exact same type and size (8.5 x 11, 300 dpi) that I have seen in Photoshop, they aren't pixelated or blurred and their file sizes are 300 KB or even less than 200 KB

    How do do that?

    Delete all layers used, invisible.

Zip compression is sometimes better than the jpg compression (in the pdf output settings). Zip is lossless and it works best with a color not degraded or not images.

Flatten the image before saving it to pdf format can reduce the size of the file, if you use the jpg compression.

  • Need help to reduce the size of the Interactive (Dynamic) PDF

    Hello

Currently I use the trial version of Adobe LiveCycle Designer (Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro) and interactive work with pdf. My main problem is that when I change my original pdf using LiveCycle Designer, the size is almost doubled. Even if I just open it with LiveCycle designer and save it without any modification, the size is doubled.

Initially, the size of my pdf was about 500ko but now after some modifications, the format is replaced almost 2 MB.

I would really appreciate if you suggest me the way to reduce the size of my interactive pdf file. I'm ready to buy any version of LiveCycle Designer if it solved my problem.

Looking forward to hear from you.

If you use Outlook Express, you can create a folder on the desktop (or elsewhere) and drag messages from OE to it. B it will be readable EML files. If it is necessary to convert them to PDF format, there are many EML to PDF converters available.

There are also some DBX to Converters PDF, but if you want to waste time in the message store, make sure you convert a copy of the dbx file and not the original. Otherwise, it will not open in OE.

  • Try to reduce the size of the PDF, but it has instead increased

Hello, I am currently working with bank statements a lot and there are a lot of page control that contains images that increases the size of the pdf file. I deleted these pages and it indeed to reduce the size of the file by a drawing of lots. But now, I do a test and just take each individual control images (31 of them altogether for the sample file I use), and it has not to reduce the size, but instead it has increased a lot. Anyone know why this is happening?

    I use Acrobat XI, 11.0.11

    Thank you

Okay, that's as expected. SAVE is designed to be very fast. To be quick, he writes just a note of the changes at the end of the file, without removing anything. If you have (diagram) the original file, more a note saying remove the following images... It is therefore greater.

SAVE AS is slower, he mixes around so things that you deleted are really missing. There is a reasonable chance (but not a certainty) that it goes smaller.

  • Is it possible to create the icon PDF format display with the cover of the document image, when sending via "Mail" on a mac?

Is it possible to create the icon PDF format display with the cover of the document image, when sending via "Mail" on a mac?

InDesign has no control on how Apple Mail displays a PDF it creates.

My experience is that Mail displays a preview of a single PDF page, but not a multiple page PDF. In addition, for a single page PDF, the user may tip if the PDF shows a preview by right-clicking the icon/preview.

Emailing is not the best way to share PDF files, especially if they are large. Transfer to one of the free services such as Dropbox and send the URL of the file.

I think Acrobat Pro can optimize and reduce the size of the PDF file.

  • How to reduce the size of a PDF file without loss of sharp graphics

Hi, I work in Acrobat X Pro.  I have combined a graphics file and need to reduce the size.  Original graphics were created in PScs6 and recorded in the form of .jpg.  What would be the best way to reduce the size of the PDF file and while now the clarity of graphics?  Advice would be appreciated.

When you deal with graphics, you're talking almost always reduce the resolution or color depth. Much depends on the graphics themselves. You might check one of the graphs and see what are the colors and resolution. The setting of 300 dpi is fine in most cases, unless you are wanting people to zoom. For many applications, a color depth of 256 is good rather than millions of colors. If these are acceptable options, remember that your graphics card is defined in this way. You can try the option optimize to see if you can improve the size and still have sufficient resolution (file > save as > optimize PDF).
