(tried to change the types of paper)  It won't let me print A3 size on A3 just spits out paper again.  It however let me print and A4 size text box on and sheet A3.  Can't work out why this is happening and how to fix

  I tried unchecking the scaling button and I CAN PRINT on A3 in the word original and trial size box.  Thank you so much I would have never known about the scale or who worked in 1 million years.

  I am trying to output render a film either in MPG2 or DV Avi

  and when I play the video rendering result regardless of the format, sometimes it freezes on certain images, sometimes it's here, sometimes here.

  Here are the specs:

  Source: (3d animations made with Softimage) 75 shots 40sec max min 2 sec, resulting in 14 min 30 sec Avi movie PAL lower field 720 x 576 uncompressed

  animations are perfect, and play them on the timeline don't show any freezing point.

  for an example of the size: a shot 40sec weighs 1.5 GB

  my computer is a 2.1 Ghertz two processors 8.1 Windows 64-bit 32 GB RAM graphics card: NVIDIA Quadro K4000

  Unfortunately, "new and quick" don't tell me what on your computer. Apple MacBook Air are new and fast - but you'll go crazy trying to edit any serious video on them.

  That said, I agree with you. Uncompressed opinion are not only inefficient format to transfer video DVDs, but they're also massive in size and difficult to transport. But if that's what your customer wants, it's what he wants.

  In the meantime, there is no reason that your finished video playback should freeze on a fast enough computer - unless you use a media player that don't handle some files well. And, if you are viewing your videos with Windows Media Player, you view on a drive that does not support some files well.

  Download the excellent and free VLC Media Player, one of the must have free utilities that I recommend to my books on Amazon. It will play almost any video format, and he's fine play.

• Design the mobile site for Tablet in landscape mode

  My apologies if this has already been addressed.

  I am designing a mobile site, exclusively for use on a tablet.  When choose "compressed" as my page, it shows me the page in portrait instead of landscape orientation.  I would like to find a way to have my site only visible with the tablet in landscape mode.

  Edit:  After playing with a few options, it seems that as long as you properly set the dimensions for your site, it will look correct when you do a preview and possibly a publication.

  While I realize that the Adobe are massive in size and only so many people to assess these messages, it seems that some posts get answered more than others.  Fortunately, I was able to run Google and Bing search to find some of the answers I was looking for, but I was hoping to post here, I want to get some kind of response from a person.

• video files for DPS horizontal and vertical

  My class built a DPS application last semester, it is heavy on video.

  Students built the app in the H and V of the guidelines.

  When I download the producer, it seems to load the video twice once for the V and once for the V - y would there be a way to get so that both orientations were using the same file?

  I fear that the final folio will be massive in size because of all of the video content.

  I deleted my previous answer. If you use the same path for the assets shared among the versions h and v, each shared resource is downloaded only once. This is true of other layouts in InDesign CS6, and I think that's true for CS5/CS5.5 as well. This was the case during a quick test, we did it.

• 2015 CC InDesign creates massive file for simple documents sizes

  I recently upgraded from CC 2014 2015 and, since then, all my InDesign files that have been created since then, are enormous. 37-41 MB on average for a letter page size document 1-2, all of the text, no image. Save backwards does not change the size of the file, or the setting for the web, digital, etc.

  I am writing on the same file (that's our quote invoice and job) I am almost 8 years now without problems so far. It's as simple a file that can be obtained. Why 2015 CC making these massive single files in size? They use to be only 1 MB. I can't send back to my partner at that size.

  Hi Aurélie,.

  OK - next step is to create a new blank document and copy and paste elements of your model on it. Maybe that do half first or section at a time, if you know what I want to say and keep save and check the size of the file. This will help you determine if this is a problem with the document itself, or one of the elements in the document.

• Massive growth in the size of the DB

  We are experiencing a problem where sometimes the number of jdb files and the overall size of databases increase massively without apparent reason and continues to grow until we are forced to kill him. I can't say for sure it's a problem I yet, but it looks like this. We use 3.3.93.
  
  Basically a client connects to our application and load 100,000 items which creates items in two databases, which holds about 800 bytes per article and the other about 30 bytes. It normally takes about 110 to 120 MB. But sometimes the DB seems to keep growing. The worst case was about 30 GB before we ran out of disk.
  
  It's rather difficult to reproduce, so I don't yet have a compelling cause. The client application completes the update (and I killed the customer) and the environment continues to grow. In fact, it still seemed to grow after all our son has become inactive as the dump thread below, that's why I tend to point a finger I.

  Jdb files seem to contain a lot of junk that is unrelated to our application. For example if I use strings and grep - c for a particular string in our objects serialized on a file healthy jdb by that I get about 14 000 folder. On a 1 GB DB where I killed the process, I move showing 1,000 per file. Looking through the files with a hex editor jdb I normally see our data for most of the file, but in these, our data seem to be rare. We use Java outsourcing, so it is easy to see where are the object.

• The photos show that different sizes during a trial 'mode in form of slide show'

  Scanning and copying of many ancient prints and negatives.  When I try to view them using Windows 'view as slideshow' some show in full screen and others of different forms and sizes.  Do I need to use a specific size and a pixel during the recording of these pictures to show images full-screen?

  Yes, you should use a similar or identical to your screen resolution, size so if you have a resolution of 1024 x 768 so your photos need to be scanned in / saved to / resized to this size, but a small 3 x 2 "photo scanned and enlarged so that size would look quite pixelated and is often optimized as a small peak with black borders.

• trial version: a photoshop a touch version? and where to reset the size of the menu

  Hi use PhotoShop in trial and can not find the option key. The menu is too small on surface pro, how can I change it. Illustrator, I've tried has one touch option and a bigger, legible icons menus and tools application. Everyone is a solution to this. Don't want to buy a subscription where I can't use a single application

  What version of PS do you use? In 2014 PS, you can set the scale in the preferences.

  

• The file section folio size massively with more buttons

  We are about to finish a DPS project and now have serious problems with the sizes of folio.

  We did all the usual things to do smaller folios (cropped out each image to the adjusted size, pdf articles, overlays vektor etc..)

  So, we did some tests and discovered a really strange behavior:

  We have a single article which the MSO State containing 7 photo full screen and seven buttons (with the same images as thumbnails) that lead to appropriate articles.

  First, we tried to experiment with the deletion of images of the ASM, but this has no effect on the size of the file. But as we removed the seven buttons on the file size has changed from 10 MB to 52 MB!

  The size of all assets (images and a User.ID file) article is only 12 MB.

  Is this a known bug? Is there a way around it? It's a kind of crazy when a downloaded folio has 4 times the size as all his property?

  Sorry for my late reply.

  I did some further testing and came to the conclusion that no key is responsible for the size of large files.

  It is the superposition of adjustment after all (sorry for pointing the wrong way). As I passed the "Raster" slideshow, "Vector" of the file size decreases a lot. (I thougt I checked this but actually I have is that in the vertical articles.)

  However, I didn't know that the export format has such an impact on the size of the file. This article from 52MO to 17 MB. And it was only a slideshow with 7 screens (retina) inside.

  Change all slide shows in "folio" our 50 article (about 35) decreased the size of 576 MB to 243 MB file!

• Massive size of Virtual Machines

  I have 2 VM is installed, Windows XP with a spread of 70 GB (44 Gb Freespace) and the allocation of Vista Ultimate 70 GB (48 Gb Freespace) still the information on the record of the VM are telling me that he uses 320 GB HDD on the host of the iMac. I checked in the vmdk files and they don't add to that that kind of volume (snapshots of 1 or 2). Any ideas as to the reduction of the size?

  What file system of the disk external drive is formatted with?  If FAT32 and your Vista VM was created using a monolithic virtual disk, then it does not, as a maximum of FAT32. the size of the file to slightly less than 4 GB.  You must use the format of 2 GB drive - Split for your virtual disks, if you want to have these files on a drive to FAT32 format.
