Matching Quiz

I have a problem that is boring to my clients (and me) on the 'Matching Quiz' slide: when published on html 5 digits/letters on two column appear not lined up all the way to the top and she makes it unclear what response you link... everything seems correct in the Captivate work file (I tried to destroy the contents of the high Center of the issue, and down it does not change the way it displays on html) , it appears correctly on the normal preview, tho.

I'm working on the version 9.0.2 Captivate and preview/editing on Chrome... but the error seems to just be cross-browsers.

Thanks for sharing.  I shall notify the team of the bug.

  • Scrolling text defaulting to white on white in question slides matching Quiz

    Hello

The scrolling text is defaulting to white text in my question slides corresponding Quiz.  I want any other text on the screen to be white (because I have a dark background), but I need the scrolling text (i.e. A, B, C, D) to be black, so that it appears in the little white boxes.  For now, it looks like my drop-down list is empty.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Barb

The text in the menu dropdown inherits the color that you assign to the corresponding answers.  You cannot currently control menu text dropdown formatting independent response text captions.  It is obvious that Adobe is on all those who use corresponding questions on a black background when they designed this special relationship.

I agree that it would be a good improvement to have the ability to format the text of the control and the background regardless of the other text.  You must connect to this an enhancement request.

In the meantime, you have several choices:

    • Do not use a black background for this question.
    • Use a black background, but place a rectangle of light behind the answers so that you can set the text is dark again.  If you apply a little creativity, you can even find that doing it this way will look more attractive.
    • Use a different type of drag and drop matching quiz question.  Discover for example Drag and Drop Lite Question Widget. (Free trial download here).  Because it uses objects from the screen as captions and areas of highlight for interactivity, it doesn't matter what background color you use.
  • Delete lines matching quiz?

(Sorry for the slight overlap discussion but http://forums.adobe.com/message/3560229 not responding to the question).

Using Captivate 5. I have a question in a quiz where the letters of the menu drop-down will match a list of 5 possible answers.  Each drop-down list item corresponds to an area of an image (from model slides) and all 5 drop-down lists must be on a slide.  Here's a look at a simplified version:

    Screen shot 2011-08-25 at 3.52.43 PM.png

It would be perfect if I could make transparent lines or white at least?  Or is there another way to do it with drop-down lists so that they will have to choose one of the items (Congress, FLHP, etc.) but not force them to choose one at a time separate issues?

    Thank you!!

    Hello

As far as I know, you can not change the lines in question to matching slides. I searched in the object styles, but anywhere they are found. And quiz objects being always on the top, you can't hide them with a drawing either object.

Should you report the score? It is possible to create your own question with the drop-down list widgets or combobox slides. I had planned to treat these widget in the third part of my series with widgets Custom questions, but it did not yet. The reason is that I had far too many questions about the possibility for dozens of report of this kind of question slides, so I started with that. To report this kind of question slides with static widgets is explained here:

Custom report issues - part 2

You will find on my blog of the examples with other static widgets (TextArea, radio buttons, check boxes) but not yet with the list drop-down/combobox widgets.

  • Quiz match only in Firefox error console

    Hello

I get an error in the console (see below) when captiavte is hosted on a Web server to Captivate Matching Quiz. The error is that in Firefox (Windows and Linux) not other browsers and options keys work well?

I publish Captivate 8, is this a known problem?

    Ben

Firefox was not a browser supported in 8, it is 9. Watch out, I'm not sure what the cause of your problems. What version of 8 do you use?

  • From web server to the Captivate of HTML5 file variables

I publish a quiz in Captivate as HTML5 and host it on a Web site. I would like to know how I can move my site to the HTML5 based Captivate quiz data.

So far, I have had success are given on captivate by having the file POST the results of a quiz finished in a RESTful way. However, I have not had success put data in the file. I would like to transmit information such as the user ID and the ID of the quiz, maybe same position current slide so that I can match quiz information to my database. I'm not specifically looking for a solution to the user ID, ID quiz, etc. because I can be creative, in this regard, I just want to know if others have been able to define variables when the Captivate file loading.

I tried a definition of the variables in two ways:

-Declare the variables with javascript, ajax, load the page in a div. Because of the problems of dependence from the captivate file uses relative paths to the assets folder.

-Change the published html file by adding the javascript variables, this returns an error message saying that I can't replace the existing captivate variable

-Add js variables in the init function, this has no effect.

Simply pass the username and id I used the following.

Note that the URL contains query string parameters that correspond to variables in captivate

    http://mywebsite/course/index.html?cpQuizInfoStudentID=IDHere&cpQuizInfoStudentName=Studen tNameHere

Another way to use JavaScript to read the query string and the variable of the entitlement in CP for query string values. I remember reading some more detail, but can't remember where.

  • Adobe Captivate 4 Quiz (Matching) drop-down list too small font size.

    Hello

We use Adobe Captivate 4.  Quiz (matching).  Exported to SWF format.

The drop-down list the fonts are small. We want to use a larger font in the drop-down list, but couldn't find a way.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you

    Fox

    Hello

Formatting of the slides in Question of CP is sometimes a pain. I can't give you a correct answer, but it would be great if you filed a feature request to the team to have more control over the styles used in this drop-down list (the link is on the homepage of this forum). If we are many to demand improvements, fine higher up on the priority list.

As you've probably discovered, in the properties of the corresponding drop down lists Question slide you can change font color, the font size not. My correct solution is to choose a font that gives the best result, certain fonts really look bigger than the others. This is not always compatible with the styles in the rest of the film, but I fit all of the text in Question slides to this font.

Regret not to be able to help. Question slides are in the folder, but in SWC format, and I can not open these files, even if I installed Flash CS4. Maybe a Flash-wise guy will appear automatically in to help you.

  • Quiz - Matching Question

I would like to create a corresponding question which has only 2 options in column 1 and several options in column 2. Each option in the column 1 would have multiple matches - that must match the question to be correct. I don't see any options that allow multiple responses in this type of question. Does anyone know if this is possible? Any tips are appreciated.

    Thank you.

I think you can do this by reversing the columns.
For example, I had several items in column 1 to match with only 2 choices in column 2.
I did just to drag each item in column 1 for the match in column 2 and it worked very well.
The left column elements are mapped to the only 1 column to the right, but the right column can be mapped to multiple left column.

Just give a try. It will be useful.

  • Divergence of Points quiz

Someone met through a gap like that? Initially he threw me off the coast, but when I tested my quiz it was fine (only 6 questions are being noted). The Advanced Interaction tab shows exactly six slides to a value of 10 points each, but the preferences is featuring a total of 80 points. Is it a known issue or just a glitch in my folder? The scores of the project this fine when I run locally, but my concern is it will not correctly make the LMS?

    for captivate forum.PNG

Put it in the cloud of SCORM and try it.

This field points can be a bit confusing. What you see in the dialog Quiz PassFail shows the total number of points that could possibly be reported for the quiz.  It is not exactly the same as the total number of points of the objects that ARE currently defined to make the quiz.  And the number of points indicated in the project > Advanced Interaction dialog does not always match this number.  As I said, it's confusing.

  • Quiz questions mixed with Drag & Drops - Quiz review issue

    Hello

Is there a way to show the right answers for a drag and drop exercise if the learner chooses wrong?  My problem is that I have an evaluation with different types of questions (Multiple, Matching and Drag & Drop choice questions).  When the test ends and the click of the learner "Review Quiz", they can view their errors on Multiple choice and matching questions but not answers for fiscal drag-and - d├⌐poser.

I tried to add a failure slide so that when the learner chooses bad, they jump to a slide of failure which shows the good answers/layout for drag / move.  The problem I have is once that the learner reviews the results of question Multiple choice and matching, there is no next button on the last slide of the question, if the review stops right in the middle.

I was hoping there is a way to let the learner to make two attempts to the drag / move, and once the learner has used all attempts and is always incorrect, the learner can click a button to auto-submit to see the D & D response.

I use 8 Captivate and my ratings are based on the web so I'm not using an LMS System.

    Thank you

    Jeff

Interaction in D & D, even if configured as a question slide, has still not all of the features of the normal question slides. If I find a solution to your problem, will post as soon as POSSIBLE.

  • Cp8 quiz resizing of buttons slide master

I don't know if this is a quirk in the installation, otherwise it something that others are experiencing.

On the question slide, MC master and the quiz results slide I rearranged the buttons and the legends of the slide and resized them. All buttons and captions are visible. I wanted to just make them bigger. I did also in Cp7.

But in Cp8 when I insert a questionnaire slide buttons and captions are narrowed to adapt the text of the element. Positions are the same, but no, they are not the same size as I put on the master. If I "Reset Master Slide" nothing changes. But if I select the master slides in the quiz slide properties and then Clear, Back and Next buttons and captions change to match the master page. But the Send button is shrunk to fit. This seems like a bug to me. I know we cannot mess with the Send button, but it should keep the size properties. He did and Cp6 Cp7.

Can someone else confirm this behavior?

Just figured out this is a preference setting. I disabled in preferences/Defaults/General: buttons of Autosize and legends. Kind of weird that the question buttons behave differently with resizing works well.

  • Quiz for the listing of multiple responses

    Hello.

I have a quiz with questions that have more than one answer. For example, a fill whites with 5 spaces.

Is it possible to have the user score 1 point by white? At the moment if I put it at 5 points, they always score 0, even if they get 4 out of the 5 correct.

I'm trying to do the same thing for a matching question too (1 point per exact match).

    Thank you.

For this type of interaction, you would be better to build your own question slides customized using click boxes to create areas affected as a hotspot of slide and text entry boxes to create fields as a fill whites quiz slide.  Of course these would not NOT then behave like quiz questions normal for things like Mode of visualization and SCORM etc, but you would be then able to mark each individual zone or field any way you want.

  • You can delete the corresponding lines of the quiz question slide?

I have two slides corresponding quiz with eight corresponding items on each slide. The user selects the corresponding answers, the lines drawn by the question to answer Captivate gets really annoying. At the time that all eight matches are completed, the slide is very busy with crossing lines.

Is there a way to disable this feature layout of Captivate? I would have preferred that the lines appear not at all.

Thanks for any help or suggestion, you can provide!

If you have Captivate 6.1 then you can use the Drag and Drop Wizard corresponding custom interactive slides and you will not the lines in the output and you can also include the slide in the quiz and allow Drag and Drop properties declaration.

    Thank you

  • Questions using corresponding without putting them in a quiz

If I did things properly, you can have as a quiz in a course and can not really use quiz "question types" for things you don't want to be part of the functionality of your quiz reviews question-quiz/quiz/recovery count, etc..

I have a class that I'm adding knowledge as-you-go check for issues that are not part of the quiz.  I came up with a solution of box/button click to make true false and multiple choice questions that give immediate feedback (without using a "type of question" so as long as to Captivate do not integrate into the quiz).  Now, I need to come with a corresponding question where I have a list of words and their definitions and must let the user do all their matches and then get feedback on their choices. All good suggestions/solutions on how to build a corresponding to the issue without being a part of the quiz feature?

    Hello Allen,.

If you want to mimic all the features of the corresponding questions by default you need a solution & slide which is not available out of the box in Captivate. You can find a slide widget & interactive InfoSemantics (works fine), but is not for free:

    http://www.Infosemantics.com.au/DragDrop/interactive

If you can cope with only have a drop-down list, you can use the drop-down list or the widget list drop-down which is available with Captivate 5 and 5.5. I've been blogging a lot about custom, but corresponding questions is not processed yet, due to the need to have a D & D widget. Maybe I'll offer a solution anyway, using either the limited version with the drop-down/combobox list or the normal version with an InfoSemantics solution.

  • The default answer of quiz, display the image (with the correct answer)

Hello guys, I have trying to find a way to be more efficient to work with a corresponding question. It works like this:

    (1) the user must match parts of a chart labels.

    (2) if the answer is incorrect, I want to show the graph with labels in the right place.  A comments box is not effective to show that, since the feedback box shows only the text.

    I have experienced by:

    (1) adding a "in case of failure quiz" show "Graphic". the graphic appears, but the object appears in the options and the boxes of the corresponding question. There is no option to bring graphics to the front of question items.

    (2) adding another slide and "failure of the quiz", an offshoot to the users of this slide. for example:

question 1-> slide with feedback for wrong answer-> question 2

If the user moves forward to question 2 and then goes to the rear, they see the slide with feedback for the wrong answer. I don't want that. I want to slide with feedback to be hidden.

Any ideason how to solve this dilemma. There must be a way.

    Thank you

    Hello

I know that you believe that the legend of the feedback is not sufficient to accomplish this, but give it a try.

Compose the image that you want. Then save it on your hard drive. Now change the caption failure feedback. Select and delete all the text. Now click on the legend drop-down Type and scroll down and choose . This should allow you to browse your file system. Search for and select the image that you saved.

A couple of notes on it.

    1. The selection dialog box will appear initially only allow you to choose. BMP files. If you need to see. PNG or. GIF or another extension, simply type *. PNG or anything else in the file name field and press ENTER to see the files of this type.
    2. When the legend is displayed on your question slide it will be probably be sized as it was before. This will offend some things terribly. So, you'll probably need adjust the size to see the enlarged image.

    Hope this helps... Rick

  • Help code AS3 for drag and drop quiz

I have a flash drag and drop quiz I want to add different images to match the correct veribage when users have dropped the case.

I have text works well when the user deletes the folder (i.e. "Yes, that's correct! ', I'm sorry, is not correct.', 'congratulations, you're done!'")

I don't know where to start and I was wondering if it was possible to add an image from the library onto the stage when the corresponding text appears on the stage?

Yes, to add a library on the stage using actionscript object to assign the object a class, tell ImageClass.  You can then use the new constructor to create an instance, and then add it to the display list:

    var image: ImageClass = new ImageClass();

    addChild (image);
