Matter of course mandatory secure Channel

Hi all

I hope you're beautiful,

I have a simple question for VCP and the courses required to attent to obtain certification

2010 last may I was on the following Vmware course "'VMware vSphere 4: install, configure, and manage" a trainning for 4 days at the center of HP training. "

Now check the necessary authorized VMware courses on the site of VMware, I noticed that the version 4.1 is required in order to become a VCP after you pass the exam.

Can I take the exam for VCP certification? or I have version 4.1 of the same classes attent?

Thank you for your time!

The VCP4 exam is applicable to both 4.0 and 4.1, to participate in the course on the 4.0, you can pretend to VCP4, don't worry.

This is confirmed in the "Required courses" section on this page: http://mylearn.vmware.com/mgrReg/plan.cfm?plan=22519&ui=www_cert

  • Managed review secure Channel before taking the course... can I still get emerit?

    Hello

I recently took and passed the VCP 310 FRONT to register for the certified course exam. I got an ID VCP Pearson VIEW when I joined the review and now I would like to take the class needed to become fully certified. So my questions are the following:

    1. is there a problem with the first of the exam and the class of a second (depending on the certification page VMWare he States simply that you must have once the review and a class to be approved, but don't not specify that one is one prerequisite for the other so I guess as long as you have both, then any order that you do)?

    2. How do I link my ID VCP ACROSS Pearson during registration to review so that I get credit for both. I have an account to connect to the Pearson VIEW to access their site, but I can't seem to use for the login and password for the site of VMWare. I want to make sure that I did not test for nothing and I get full credit for all this hard work.

    3. is there a time limit that the review is good for before you take the class... in other words, the available class I take in my are is not until March, which is 2 months from the date I took and passed the exam.

Advice or information would be greatly appreciated, as I've worked at length and seriously take this test and do not want my efforts to get lost.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

    Congratulations on the exam!

    (1) there is no problem take the class after you have passed the exam - VMware prefers the class before the exam, but many people did this way

    (2) certification VMware should be able to relate the test and the class, but safely when you are finished her email certification VMware ([email protected]) with the ID of the secure Channel be received from Pearson/VIEW and ID of the class, the class dates, location and the name of the VMware authorized training center if you took it through ART and this will ensure your certification.

    (3) there is no official deadline but VI-4 will be out some time this year and if VMware follows what they did with ESX 2/VC1.x class about 9 moths after out general, that the class will not be

available - also note that 3 VI - 3 classes will qualify for the VCP - install and configure, deploy, Secure and analyze (DSA) and fast-track

  • VCP 4 or 5 secure Channel?

    Hi all

I have decent experience with VMware and I intend to give the VCP certification, but I am not able to decide who I should go VCP 4 or 5 secure Channel... as VCP 4 going in February 2012.

FYI: I have no secure Channel certification yet.

So my question is, what courses I need to take to give secure Channel 5 and how much credit it will cost.

Same way if I'm going to 4 VCP, what courses should I take and how much credit it will cost.

    Thanks in advance.

    Design:

2 x fresh install of the SRM VMs version 5.5

20 + hosts vSphere 5.5 with DR/HA configured and working. Two dvSwitches (one per site) configured with the groups of port / VLAN work

    Question:

Installation goes well until I needed to activate the Plugin SRM in vCenter. Plugin called "Plug-ins available" and I click on the link 'download and install '.

Post edited by: ArrowSIVAC, this is related to the case of support for vmware 13384832210 This problem is solved. Several pieces here. (1) vCenters were installed secretly with local account as own databases, and this is how I usually do things (2) MRS. servers were built as separate virtual machines, VMWare vs guides guess and documents in anticipation of your SRM installation on the same server as vCenter Documentation / Installer is not clarified that you MUST use domain for MRS accounts in the multiplayer linked site facilities and if you do not, the installation is completed without error, but resources will not work. Errors have for client plugin does not work. It was the symptom, the reason was that the SRM service did not work. The service would not start and only an error in the Windows event log is 'vmware-dr stopped service' is because the connectivity issue of MRS to vCenter hosted the new SQL instance database SRM. The SRM database has been installed on the instance of vCenter server as vCenter database. And just like the installation of default vCenter I chose localhost\administrator for database owner. The database was filled with tables, but SRM has connectivity problems. The fix for this was to add "domain\user" (called mine SRMAdmin and added as a member of domain admin), add this user in SQL in the list of database users and then promoted as the owner of SRM database and define the rights on DBO. This fixed the first issue. Second issue was that SRM installation set the DSN system identification information, but does not specify that they must also be domain based accounts. The installation program is not not clear here and should only allow user domain\username when installing. After several attempts because of the root and installation methods different tried, how to get the installation complete and properly configure was to log on to the system AS the example domain account: domain\srmadmin = > Configuration System DSN by selecting "How should SQL Server verify the authenticity of the login ID?" "with integrated Windows authentication', and then the installation of SRM to the"Enter Database user credentials"value"domain\srmadmin ". Then and communication services to the vCenter SRM hosted DB database will work correctly. < See images attached benchmarks >

    Is it possible to check?

    Thank you

I don't know, can, you can send an email to [email protected] to validate the VCPID.

Do not have any site to validate directly

  • Secure Channel 5 29 February end date

    Hi guys,.

I am mistaken in saying that if I am a VCP 4 and rest the new course of what I'll be able to take the VCP exam no matter when or what I need to do the review before February 29?

    Thank you

    Dougie

    Hello

If you did what's new course for vSphere 5, then you can take the exam when you want. The date deadline was for vcp4 holders before before the deadline, otherwise they will have to make the new course to acquire their VCP5

  • Review secure Channel 5 requirements

    Hello friends,

II have my test VCP510 scheduled November 30, 2011, end of this month, and I'm a VCP4.

According to the current site VCP4 VMware -there is no requirement of course until February 29, 2012. Means I can give the test without attending any class.

But I heard from my friends that one of the guys in sales HP told him that it is mandatory to attend classes, and he attended him.

Someone could erase me please, I'm worried about it.

    Thanks in advance.

You are right. If you are a VCP4, you can go to the exam VCP5 with no prerequisite of classtime, prior to the date you sketched out.

  • VCP4-> secure Channel 6?

I'm a bit ambiguous on the recertification process. I have (had) a VCP4, but was lazy to be quite honest and never had my VCP5. I have an authorization code for SC - 510, but I think that this test has been removed. So the question is, since I won VCP4, can I take the examination of VCP6, or should I take training courses? If it does not require classes or training, how can I go about obtaining an authorization code to program a VCP6 review?

Nope. If it is expired, you need to take a class.

Approval of code simply means told us PearsonVue you are a real person in our system - it doesn't say anything about your eligibility for examination or certification.

  • Time between MCI and Test secure Channel

    Hello

When I was hired in my company in February, I had the 5.0 VMWare CIM class. I just move to the study to take my VCP 5, but some of my colleagues said that they were informed by the instructors theres a delay of 3 to 6 months after the ICM to take the VCP in otherwise you can return to the ICM. Anyone know if this is true or not?

    Thank you

I managed a team of 4 monitors VMware in my last job, 2 of them were also Cisco instructors. I also coached 2 other instructors Cisco full-time through their VCP so they could teach courses Cisco data center, and I've trained many people of a networking environment which 30 people who are now VCPs working within Cisco in the United Kingdom.
