  The 970GTX is more than enough, given that these two applications are primarily CPU and ram. If you get Octane to C4D that I suggest, then you may want to get at least 1 980GTX.

  Using 100% CPU translates the choppy video. I don't think that this heavy use of the CPU was not the case until I upgraded from Firefox13 and Adobe Flash Player 11. I tried without decommissioning, but this does not seem to make a difference.

  If it works in Firefox Safe mode and then disable all extensions (Tools > Modules > Extensions) and then try to find out who is causing by allowing an extension at a time until the problem reappears.
