Should I try and get somehow the problem resolved with the existing SSD, or will I get a new SSD and install Windows 8 on that and then try and extract what I maybe need off the old SSD? I would add that I have an installation disc of Windows 8 and then put far to 8,1 win via a download.

  Thanks for getting back to me. My questions are exactly the same as the original thread. After unistalling avast my 8.1 win goes into a loop of repair, no access to the office, safe mode, refresh does not work.  tried everything etcetcetcetc original thread and more. Consider no solution found.

  Ok. So I got a new laptop that has a fingerprint sensor. I opened the Recovery Manager and see that there are TWO pieces of software that need to be installed/reinstalled.
  (1) the validity of the pilot sensor of fingerprint in the drivers section.
  (2) the SimplePass software in the software section.
  
  Most of the drivers and software in the Recovery Manager do not need to be uninstalled first - the installation package should do this automatically.
  
  If you have not already done so, install the driver of validity using Recovery Manager and restart your computer.
