McAfee

Last year I had installed on my Pavilion dv9000 series of McAfee. I tried to install a different security system, but there is a conflict. I uninstalled mcafee, but there are some elements associated with McAfee that I can't get rid of, I downloaded a software that is supposed to delete "Development" and I also did a clean with "CCLEANER", but it's still there. I'm on vista Home premium

More that probably left McAfee service installed and running, use msconfig, go to the 'Services' tab and see if you can spot the McAfee Service and uncheck it, click OK and restart.

When you get to the Services tab, there is a button to hide Microsoft Services, click this option to refine the list.

.

Here are some general instructions for the use of msconfig

  • Why not junk detector permanently delete suspicious mail rather than send it to the junk e-mail folder? SOLVED caused by McAfee spam controls

Recently, from a month ago or so, when I open Thunderbird and it connects to my ISP to download new e-mail messages, e-mails that the Junk detector "think" might be spam, these emails are deleted immediately permanently instead of being moved to my Junk folder, as I've mentioned Thunderbird in all options on how to manage junk e-mail. I know that there have been e-mails that were sent to me for the first time by a new friend or colleague whom I have not yet put in my contacts folder. In fact, I know an e-mail in particular when someone sent me his email address in the email that comes to be obtained permanently deleted. So if anyone knows what's happening here and what I can do to stop this behavior, I'd be very grateful all assistance. This time, to monitor the activity, I connect to my e-mail through my ISP account so I can examine what is in the Inbox ready to be downloaded in Thunderbird before you start Thunderbird. It is a nuisance, but is the only way I know for the moment to monitor all my incoming mail. Thank you!

Sorry for the delay in the publication... Disable McAfee spam controls solve my problem. All incoming messages marked as spam is successfully sent to my junk e-mail folder.

    Thanks for your help!

  • My mcafee security is labeled not signed, it is confidence nownot

the last update for firefox 40.0.2 I now see on the page Extensions that Mcafee Safekey and web Advisor to Mcafee could not be verified for use in firefox... They were both ok before the 40 version. Should I uninstall?

In the future, Firefox refuses to run unsigned extensions. In other words, if the extension was not signed by Mozilla, Firefox will be auto-blocking it. This will start in Firefox 41.

The first step being taken in Firefox 40 is simply to warn you that you have a few unsigned extensions, so you can check the updates and/or inform the Publisher of this impending problem. This does not have the extensions of the race.

McAfee will probably submit their extensions for Mozilla for signature before Firefox 41 is released in about 4 weeks. If they do not, they will have a lot of unhappy users! Or these users will discover extensions are not really doing that much.

  • The following extensions are always safe to use with Firefox? Yahoo toolbar, McAfee WebAdvisor & Skype click on call

I had these extensions installed since February 2015, when I bought my new computer. They always worked very well, but this morning I noticed that each say, «McAfee WebAdvisor/Skype Click-to-Call/Yahoo Toolbar could not be verified for use in Firefox.» Proceed with caution. All of these extensions have been download from their respective Web sites. Should I worry about this?

In the future, Firefox refuses to run unsigned extensions. However, the first step being taken in Firefox 40 is to warn you that you have a little so you can check the updates and/or inform the Publisher of this impending problem.

I'm sure that these three companies are aware of this change. What they need to do, is to submit their Add-ons for Mozilla for review and signature sometime before Firefox 41 is available and no doubt they will be.

If they are not, please complain to them!

  • Is available for download from McAfee a part of download of Mozilla Firefox?

Quite quickly after downloading Mozill, a McAfee icon appeared on my home page and in my hard drive program files. I tried to uninstall that I saw nothing about this when I downloaded the program. A window appeared asking me my social security and a box number asking that I am hosting a new program to install. Is this normal or should I worry?

Have you downloaded Firefox from www.mozilla.org? If you downloaded it from anywhere else, it is possible that you have been infected by malicious software.

  • Why Thunderbird runs very slow on Windows 7 CAUSE: McAfee

Installed Thunderbird worm 31.6.0 on my desktop Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1, 32-bit, 4G ram, Intel i5 processor clocked at 2.66 GHz,
a few months ago and he ran very well in the beginning.
Now that I've used for some time it slowed considerably.
All Thunderbird functions slow clicking to select a group of messages, even deleting just one single message, opening a message, etc.
It has compact records on several occasions, and I did not have a large number of stored messages (maybe the total of all files, including waste, spam, sent, etc. is about 500).
I use McAfee Anit-Virus, which ignores analysis attachments to emails.

There were reports of slow performance with Thunderbird on Win7?
Maybe my problem is caused by McAfee?
    Ideas, suggestions are welcome,
    Thank you

  • Firefox bug? McAfee SiteAdvisor 3.7.1 jams at 50% CPU useage

    Firefox 35.0.1
In certain circumstances, Firefox starts using too much time CPU. It seems to happen when you try to do too many things at once. But, once in this state out of functions (closing all tabs) except my homepage that Firefox is still stuck using 50% of the CPU and more than 200,000 k of memory. The only way out of this should close Firefox and restart.

After much experimenting, I found that disabling (extension) McAfee SiteAdvisor "cured" the problem. Is there an incompatibility here? Is there one fix other than to disable SiteAdvisor?

How can I report to the mozilla developers?

McAfee SiteAdvisor has been blocked by Mozilla several times over the years due to a large memory leak. Although not recently iirc.

It doesn't surprise me a bit that McAfee seems to cause problems for you now.

Overall, this extension simply duplicates the features that are built into Firefox. IMO, it adds nothing to Firefox, beyond a different data source, or even ' bells and whistles ' users to 'wow '.

  • TB, slow and not meet with 'The Script is not responding' mailWindow.js CAUSE: McAfee (new)

I have been using TB and its predecessor Eudora for years without any problem. These last few months I met it is very slow and usually "does not" clicking on something before the end of the thought. At this point I sometimes get an error message "chrome://messenger/content/mailWindow.js:180", saying that the script has stopped working. I click on continue and it resumes.

After reading the various posts on the topic several times I did 1) re-indexed 2) made a clean installation 3) disabled modules 4) run in safe mode. Nothing seems to improve things. typical symptoms are:
    A. Download emails seems to take normal time, but their display in the Inbox can take a minute or more (used to be instantaneous) by clicking in the intermediate product, the message "not responding".
    B. Sending messages seems normal
    C. selection of a mail in the Inbox, or try to move or delete one takes a minute or more. Click on in the meantime generates the message "not responding".
    D. generally every action with the mouse has this long accompanied "not responding".

I use Windows Vista, McAfee is installed but disabled does not make a difference.
