Mechanical action and control refnums button

LabView 8.6 running full (not 8.6.1) on Windows XP SP3

I have two buttons for which I created references to pass to a subvi (to control

visibility of the buttons during initialization).   On the Sub - vi are two Refnum controls

strict ("Include the data type" is checked).    However, at the higher level, the two refnums for

the (apparently) identical buttons are different.   A refnum is strict, and the other is not!

Of course, it was a problem because it wouldn't let me connect the refnum at the

Sub - vi.

I tried different combinations of duplication and re - bind the objects of reference, but it

always came with a strict and the other not (always the same the same)

way).

In the end, I found that the only difference between the two other than buttons

the name of the label and the Boolean text is that the mechanical actions were different:

-the button which the reference was strict "lock when press".

-button with the non-stricte reference a 'Switch to exit.

Is there a reason why the choice of mechanical action

should affect the "rigor" to a Boolean control refnum?

Or is this just another trait 'unexpected '?

(Not a problem because it was the wrong mechanical action)

has chosen to start with the option - which fixed and solved the problem.  But it

looks like it might be something interesting to learn here.)

Thank you and best regards,

-- J.

When you have a mechanical locking action, you cannot use the Value property to read the value of the control. Thus, its data type (which is what makes it strictly) is not included. That's my guess.

In general, the right thing to do would probably be to click with the right button on the reference control and uncheck the box include Data Type, which would make it not strict. In addition, could have tried cast of the reference to the class that you want to, but you would want that it works as if it were in fact of the class concerned.

  • LabVIEW 2012 SP1, failed to get a correct mechanical action on buttons Boolean

I try to use the Boolean buttons and events to programmatically change the properties of a graph.  I basically want to click a button on the FP and have the graphic change the property you want.  All changes of property is very nice, but I'm really struggling with the mechanical action of the buttons.

I'll preface this by apologizing that I can't post my code, as computers with installed LV are isolated. My code is basically OK buttons, a while loop and a structure of the event with an event to change value of each button.

I want the user to click on the button. After the click and release, I want the button to be in the same State he started, and I want the value change event to trigger only once.  Sounds to me like I want the released mechanical locking when action.  The problem is that it does not work.  I can't create buttons that behave like that.  None of the 6 mechanical actions exhibit the desired behavior.

To make things worse, I have two buttons OK that both the latch value by releasing.  The two buttons are True before the click. A button behaves as expected (the button is true after the click and release) and the other button switch back.  I tried to copy the work correctly the button, but still the copy button does not work the same as the original.  The two buttons trigger a unique value change event, in spite of behave differently.

To answer the question "where do I get the button work of?  Awhile back, I made a simple button test vi which have proved all 6 of the mechanical actions and kept track of how many times they shot a changing value of a click event.  My buttons worked when I did this vi... Finally, I remember having trouble with that at the time too.  The results of this hurt me by using the switch until the buttons released with mouse events during a long time, until I got the button test VI works correctly and learned how to really work the buttons. But the buttons are now funny.  I tried to copy the latch work by releasing the button in my current program, but for some reason only two buttons work copied as expected, despite them being copies of the same key.

Is there a bug in LV2012 SP1 (64-bit) where mechanical actions don't always work?  Will I be stupid?  I'm sorry I can't post the code.  I have this problem on Windows 7 and Linux.

A little more information, because I wanted to make sure I tried eveyrthing before posting.  I tried to make a new button test VI.  That still works, but I can't see the buttons in the new button test vi behave the same as I did.  In the new lock when you press the same features when you press on and latch when relased acts as switch when released.  Switch release lock until this that released and behave slightly differently.  They both change value, but on actually switches the light two events twice (still there and back), where just LuR moves to state once but still fires two value of change in events.  I checked to make sure that the mechanical actions are set correctly at least a dozen times.

Quite confused here.  My old test vi button works as I expect, and the lock when released button as I want, but I can't for the life of me reproduce it.

  • using the key to toggle the button and retain a mechanical Action

I'll put in place to control the race of a stepper motor and I have 2 buttons for jogging forward and backward to jogging. These buttons have the mouse down and mouse events sends commands to the motor controller. The mechanical action of the buttons are set to release the latch.

I would also use the previous Page and Next Page on the keyboard to toggle these keys. But I would like the button to act in the same way that the mouse when the button is pressed and held the button remains pressed and released with the release of the key.

However when I press on and press and hold the button continues to activate / deactivate. Is has something to do with the repeat button, but I don't know how to operate it. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've attached an example of how I started. The mouse down press the reverse button opens a dialog box, but the key does not work and when the key is held down the button flashes. Page Up for forward and Down to the opposite Page.

    Concerning

    Terry

Simply use another event and manages press button from the bottom to the top in the same way. The button using local variables while active, you can switch to event.

I don't know why you use latch action. Why not with the button until this that released and value change events?

  • Front panel FPGA Boolean mechanical action is important to control the actions of a host RT?

When a host RT controls an FPGA VI shipped through Boolean values on the face before of the FPGA VI, no matter what setting the mechanical action is used by the Boolean front panels?  For example, they all just act as "Switch When you press on" or the law "lock when you press on" as one-shots?

Okay, it looks like I have a little bit of clarification to make.

First of all, the patterns of waveform above are correct. As soon as the handshaking signal Host_Write if high, the data is written to the next clock cycle. At this point, "Lock" options are equivalent to eachother, and all the options of 'Switch' are equivalent to the eachother. Each takes 150ns to receive the signal of Host_Write.

The only thing in my post above that is misleading is when I said that transitions occur at the same time. This is not true, as the writing must be serialy, 150ns apart.

In case anyone is interested, I enclose the test and the test bench project. On your host machine, simply generate the files for the simulation construction-spec, then replace the tb_NiFPGASimulationModel.vhd generated by the one I've attached (this is the test bench). This should be at "C:\NIFPGA\simulation\FPGA_Boolean_Mechanical_Action\FPGA_Target\MechanicalActionTest\user". Given that forums don't add .vhd files, please rename the .txt in .vhd.

  • Control a lesson 8 Captivate when each slide audio and has a button BACK, NEXT, and REPLAY

If I use the built in game how bar can I control the button FOLLOWING:

    Question 1

How can I check the button NEXT to be active after that audio is complete on this image?

    Question 2

How can I check the button NEXT to be active after the FRAME is over and he referred to this image? (Playback mode)

I'm open to just using the button and make my own bar games, but still do not know how to control buttons

    Thank you

    Wayne

If you use the built-in skin Captivate PlayBar you can not control the functionality of the buttons NEXT without having access to the expertise of programming.  You need to output SWF ActionScript 3 programming skills.  For the release of HTML5, you need JavaScript expertise.

If you bar ditch reading and simply add your own buttons to the slide, you can time the appearance of the next button on the slide by placing this item on the timeline to a point AFTER the end of the audio.  You can also use the advanced system InReviewMode with a conditional Action variable to display a button on a slide during the viewing Mode.

But you seem like you might be a beginner using Captivate, so some of these tips may still is beyond your abilities at this point.

  • My front/back buttons do not work - have done so "reset bars, tools and controls", but they don't always work

When I downloaded the latest version, I got a new screen with the orange Firefox tab at the top. Which was very good, I found what I wanted, but the previous/next buttons didn't work. I checked the help section and went through suggestions to "toolbars and controls to reset" - this reset and I lost the orange box - which is not serious, but the previous/next buttons still do not work.

Do you have more than one tab open? If you don't go to a different site in one tab, then Yes, the buttons will be grayed out. If you went somewhere in another tab, then these sites should be accessible by clicking on buttons.

  • How to dynamically add any control (digital button, boolean) to control the line and selected column

    Hello

How to add a control (digital button, boolean) dynamically in control instead of lines and columns selected. Please suggest the idea or no matter what example code you have please share with me...

    Thank you

    Vieu

Essentially, that's what you're looking for:

Please note that you have to account border sizes and the label of the control so that the code does not work right out of the box. You should also check for the height and width of column and if the position is valid at all before moving around the control.

  • How can I get all the control in one place in 3.6.16 buttons, as they did in previous versions? Have the refresh and stop between address buttons and windows search and the home button on the far right is terrible.

In 3.6.16, the buttons are all over the place. In previous versions, forward, back, refresh, stop and home buttons were all together. In this version, the refresh and stop buttons are between the address and search windows and the home button on the far right.

I'd love to have them all together as they used to be - much easier to use that way. I tried to install other themes, but the coding of this version too roll themes.

All the buttons can be moved to the toolbar by right-clicking anywhere that isn't a button or the address bar on the toolbar and choosing Customize...

You can then drag the buttons around the toolbar to position them toy our taste. When you click Customize... Favorites and Refresh buttons will temporarily turn into regular buttons that you can move around. If you place them to the right of the address bar, they will merge with it. If you move them somewhere else, they will become the normal buttons. You can use this to move a button on the toolbar anywhere you want.

Themes do not set the order of the toolbar buttons and so will not replace it.

  • iPad and iOS 10 and the home button

    Hello

I decided to join the community for others to ask a question on the feeling of the behavior 'double click' to enter the iPad Home button. My iPad Air has a mechanical button at home and double-tap will reduce life to the theoretical "half-life".

Furthermore, the idea behind this is strange to me. The first click wake up my iPad and now I can for example drag to the left screen to open apps for Siri proposals for example or I can slide to the right to get the camera. Appeal stands for solution. So, we can I not the proposals of Siri on the unlock screen? Or why not configure to enter directly into my iPad?

As for the design of the widget on the left screen list? It makes sense to lose so much space for the icon "setup"?

I am very unhappy with the ideas behind the new design and I also no reason to change the behaviour as each device works the previous. What is the idea of the sales department to force the broken home buttons?

What do you thing? I use it wrong?

    Hello

You can go to the accessibility and make your button at home appear on the screen, then you can use

    As a home button.

    See you soon

Moved from my bookmarks toolbar by right-clicking on the icon and go to the menu. I would like to cancel this action and return the bookmarks on my toolbar.

Try to use the personalization feature to drag it to the desired location.

(Although you can right-click > move to the toolbar, you can use customize anyway because you probably don't want the double-button at the right end of the bar.)

Hello arlusk, the problem is probably an extension that is not working properly. Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.
