  My project is a CS5.5 demo video that requires no user action. Each project slide contains many objects that appear one after another in the timeline panel.

  I activated the playback bar to allow the user to navigate through the project, if he wants, but the back/next buttons only jump from slide to slide.

  I would like to refine navigation by jumping from one object in each slide. One solution is to put a slide object.

• Windows 10 - speaker volume slider Audio settings has no effect

  I don't know which version of Skype broke this setting or if it actually happened on the upgrade to win 10 and I didn't notice. However, since a few months now, the audio signal coming on a call is much too hard. Open the Audio settings and the speaker volume setting has no effect. I can't find any reference to this in aid of Skype or in the community. Does anyone have the answer?

• Is it possible to add an additional button to each slide separated from a slideshow?

  I use a slide show 100% width with text on each slide. I want a button "Read more" on every slide that links to the exact page. I know that the button can be integrated in the text of the slide, but I want it is separate. To have a different color and spacing. Can someone help me?

• Adobe hangs on setting Gain Audio and when exporting

  First of all a little on the systems in question

  I have four spans identical edit. Each has a processor Dual Core 2.5 Ghz Pentium, 3.0 GB of ram, a single sata drive divided into two partitions (System video and 30 GB 470). I'm under body to update 5.0.2 freshly installed on blank discs.   Dumping us in one of two ways: either a direct discharge DV via firewire or download. MXF files of our Panasonic P2 cameras via USB (can't seem to get the firewire PC discharge works correctly). I use the project settings are DV-NTSC - Standard 48 Khz, with a slight change to require the fields top first (we use a Maxx500 streaming server and requires first of all of the fields above). We know intermittent crashes for a week and a half, but in the last days, they picked up (no new updates not applied, if it's not that). I have two culprits:

  One is an error code which, thanks to this thread , that I know, is linked to the audio gain. My problem is that I did everything I can think of and still no luck. It has been crashing with the same regularity that my reporters save every few minutes, and I have the auto save set to 5 minutes. Today, I had to reinstall this Bay because he planted each time audio gain has been adjusted.

  My other problem relates to export. I use the MainConcept MPEG encoder to output MPEG for the streaming server, and on every fourth or fifth time, the program will plant export.   Yes, I know that sounds obvious and stupid and simplistic and as it is not a real solution, but listen to me: you want two independent channels completely mixed with the two output channels, the stereo right? Well, when you remove these mono clips in a track mono sequence but a stereo master track, they'll both automatically be routed to the two stereo channels! No need to change anything. If you want, you can jump into the Audio Mixer Panel and pan the mono tracks in one side or the other of the stereo output, but without doing anything else, your audio will be sent to the stereo output.

• Captivate 8 - my audio does not play at the end of each slide after that I publish.

  It plays very well when I saw the individual slides, but after I publish some slides cut the end of the audio recording. I tried to remove and re audio recording.  Nothing solves this problem on some of the slides.   I am at my wits end and don't know what to do.  Please help, any suggestions?  Thank you.

  Leave a small space at the beginning and end of each slide so that Captivate

  see all audio clips as an audio clip of the major project.

  # The examination area is not for this purpose, and in most of the types of questions it is no longer used.

  I would say the best way to do what you want is to place a shape on the Quiz slides roughly the same place as the control area is right now, but make sure that it would not be obscured by other elements of the quiz slide.  Add the text of the feedback to the shape you want the learner to see when you perform the revision Quiz and the Visible output value for these objects shape on each slide quiz to be OFF.  Then create a conditional Advanced Action (or conditional Shared Action) must be run on the entrance to slide for each slide of the questionnaire.  This conditional action checks if the Variable system called cpInReviewMode is set to 1, and so it will SHOW the shape on the slide object, OTHERWISE it will HIDE this same shape (just in case).

  Then, this should mean that if your user name click the quiz of revisions on the Quiz results slide, they will see these forms of additional feedback, but at any other time, they will be invisible.

• New to Captivate quiz question slide only to display the gray

  I use the version of Captivate 5.5 test. I have experimented with the creation of projects and additions slides, and everything works until I try to create a Quiz. Although the question slides are inserted, all the slides are empty except for a gray rectangular area on each slide of the question; no example of text or anything (which is what I was expecting, based on the tutorials I've read). When I double-click the gray area, nothing happens. The property Quix box identifies the slide such as appropriate (e.g., Multiple choice questions) question, but there is no way to add a real question or answers to the slide. Anyone know what is happening?

  

  FYI - I restarted my computer and now the Quiz slides are working.

• Auto-Add stops afer each slide in a project saved

  I have a project saved as demonstration, but I want to stop after each slide and move forward only on the action of the user. I don't want to add other buttons or anything - I'm glad reading control provided by captivate. I see no reason to create my own secondary navigation, I want just user to use front and rear Captivate playback control buttons to navigate between slides - but the film continues to play continually.
  
  Please, is there an easy way to make all the slides in a judgment of the project at the end? Thank you!

  The only way to do this is to insert a click box or a button on each slide. Probably the simplest way using a click box. object. Insert it on the first slide, size and position as needed, and then copy it. Select two slides to the end, and then paste the object.

• Windows Contacts now display an Adobe icon for each of them and when I try to open Adobe Reader 9.0 starts, then tells me that it can't read the file.

  For some reason any, that my Windows Contacts show now an icon of Adobe for each of them, and when I try to open Adobe Reader 9.0 starts, then tells me that it can't read the file.  I tried right-clicking and using "open with...". "to set a default value, but no other programs are listed as possibilities.  By clicking on 'Browse' of course gives me a window of the Explorer, but I have no idea what program select open Windows Contacts with.

  Contacts Windows used to work perfectly, and I have no idea if this problem started, or why.

  Can someone tell me how to open them properly, with the Windows Contacts program?  Thank you!

  Some slides contain objects such as some graphics (png), the arrows and text boxes that have a period of delay or show that for a given time.

• How can I prevent Captivate to advance to the next slide, after the end of the audio and I click on click to show/hide sidebar box?

  Quickly, I created a sample file, just have a slide with three form buttons that act as the toggles and a next button. The first three buttons break late exactly at the same time and the next button.

  Since it's the slide by clicking the audio stops no audio at all (common misunderstanding). I created a shared action, with the purpose to display and the variable (mine are labeled v_one instead of v_visib) as parameters:

During the preview of the project with the project manager, quiz slides do not move forward in the preview of the course (and no more than the bar room).   Now that I'm trying to work on game shows, I am able to insert question slides but not the results slides that I would appear at the end of each short quiz.  This could be a framework global quiz I should change? Is there a way I can reset the quiz in the course and start from the beginning (with slides of results displayed)?

  I realize it's probably 101 stuff for everything that you users of Captivate veterans, but please bear with me... I am a newbie to Captivate.

  I am little confused: you can have only a single slide quiz and 01:20 in a CP-file (requirement of SCORM) and you seem to talk about several slides of results?  That should mean that you have created custom intermediate score slides as I explained here: Intermediate Score slides - Captivate blog

  Or each module in a separate cptx file? The slide of score will not be deleted at all, it's just hidden. You can make it visible again using preferences, settings, "Score at the end of the Quiz Show" Quiz

  Regarding the reset of the questions that is possible using the recovery button. Return to the user will be sent to the first slide question or being marked. This means that you will have to provide more than 1 attempt on Quiz level. More information about the slide in question/score:

• Captivate 8 - Slide timing and interaction

  I used to work a bit with Captivate 3 & 4 and now just got access to 8 Captivate and am currently evaluating.  I hope that someone in the community could help me with the following questions:

  1. is there a way to add more than 1 share for interaction?  In other words, I have a button that, when clicked, modifies a chart on the slide by using the 'Show' action on the success.  However, I want to repeat this action to display a video also.  Is this possible?

  2. on the same slide, above, I have a total of 5 buttons.  4 the buttons do what I mentioned in #1, but the fifth button acts more like a navigation button to move to the next slide.  I have a click box inserted for this 5th button with the option "project of break up to what the user clicks on.  However, if one of the 5 buttons are clicked, advance the slide.  Any advice?

  3. I noticed that "Allow mouse click" is grey on everything, I've gone through.  How can I activate this option?

  Advanced actions can have many orders. But everything will be running at the time where the action is triggered by an event. Maybe I do not understand your question well enough? You want to show graphics and video at the same time? If you want them to appear in order, why not use the timeline?

• Captivate 7 slide notes and Audio endangered

  Some of my audio just disappeared (as well as slide notes) from one day to the next. Also, on some slides, audio is still there, but the notes have disappeared. I'm not crazy. I KNOW that I did this job, and he disappeared. The audio is missing in the notes I used when I made the record. What is going on? Help!

  I don't know how to take down of my question, but I solved the problem by closing the file and close Captivate. Then, when reopened, the file was fine.
