Menus in Fireworks and Dreamweaver templates

I created some button and drop down menus in Fireworks CS6. They seem good. I then created a template in Dreamweaver CS6 and added the Fireworks HTML code to the model and saved as a template. Live view mode shows good drop downs and stationary. Then I tried to attach a template to a page, and I also create a model page. I have two stationary circumstances does not work. Any suggestions?

Thank you all. I have pleasure to fight through questions that t allows me to store solutions. All of the edge where great. In the end, this is what I found.

1 Yes working with Fireworks is tedious at best. Menus in Fireworks will work in the models. Yes I created a template page in the correct Manor. However, the translation works well with these scripts in Fireworks and the menus.

-Solution = I corrected the complete image URL links. Example: changed... liabilities to http://www.sethermal.com/assets.

-It fixes all problems of hover, I had.

2. Yes, I like CSS. I learned a lot through all tips from you guys. I build menus using CSS only for new customers.

3 Finally, Yes, I see how the Hover link area extends to the right. I can live with that. I need to reduce the link Hover area so I don't cover the adjacent top menu bar button. I will continue to work on "positioning", etc..

  • Update Menus in Fireworks

I created a menu with Fireworks to be used on several pages of a site in Dreamweaver. Is there a way I can add/remove the links in my menu without having to re - import my Fireworks HTML code in each page, whenever I make a change?

I tried to add a link to my menu the changes in my FIreworks PNG and then re-export of all files, but the link does not work properly. I have delete and re - insert my Fireworks HTML code for it to work.

    Any help is appreciated.

Whether you use windows popup or Spry, make a Dreamweaver template and your off page Basic. Then, when you need to make a change, change the template file and all of your Web pages will be updated accordingly.

  • external js for menus in Fireworks

    Hello

    using these directions http://www.communitymx.com/content/article.cfm?cid=A3A8D

I've linked to my menus in Fireworks outdoors. The menu works, but when it is loaded a cursor of type appears on the links instead of an arrow, as usual for a button. I guess that's because as the code is external html page does not have links. Is it possible, perhaps with javascript to get these links to read in a way that will make this text cursor turn to an arrow?

  • Dreamweaver templates without... Dreamweaver

I'm working on a website for someone. It turns out they want for Dreamweaver templates. I'm a guy of the eclipse, and it seems that the only way to really work with TPL is with Dreamweaver itself. Dreamweaver is not something I'm willing to shell out 400 dollars for, especially since I will only use models dethrone.

Is it possible to manually create and use Dreamweaver templates?

Post edited by: Jon Fritz Unrelated (India) removed from post link.

It might have something to do with the Contribute help to make changes later perhaps, but the site bound by the OP is a WordPress site and has nothing to do with DW. The post looks more like backlink spam to me than a real call for help.

Just in case where it is not a spam message:

DW uses pairs of comment tags HTML, formatted so that the program will understand what sections are locked and the sections that are editable. These comments can be placed manually in any text/html without problem Editor (everything. DWT template on the internet will give you the necessary structure comment). The benefits of using a. TPL is found only in DW itself, not on a server and not in any other editor outside Adobe Contribute. Local files of child created from the. TPL updated when the DWT receives a change. Local files should then be uploaded to the server, replacing the pages hosted remotely with versions newly updated.

Since the site being linked is in WordPress, the foregoing is really not any sense. WP uses a database and php to create pages on the fly. There is no real HTML pages on the server which would be updated by transferring local files, controlled by a DWT template. Unless the customer is planning to move to the back of the database-driven, CMS and modify static html site, or perhaps the wrong site has been linked by accident, it is really pointless to attempt using TPL templates in this situation.

Which kind of brings back me to the reason for which you could see the post as being spammy of backlink.

  • Add existing web page to dreamweaver template

    Hello

How to add an existing web page created before the model has created a model Dreamweaver, I created my index page?

    I use Dreamweaver CS6

The index of test file has a header and a column on the left with links and then a contained right column and footer.

The content column has "editregion4" on it, so is locked. I want to update other areas and have other pages that I created prior to the model being created was updated too.

I created the index.dwt model and saved as index.html

I have update the model and updates the index.html page too. So far, but so good...

I created separate pages to test how to add to the model without changing the "content" section.

Question: How do I add the other pages that I have created?

These are just the test pages. The next page is called: about.html and I added some random text in the content area that I want to keep.

The only areas that would update are the header, column and footer to the left.

Another question: would you have only the one file model?

    What I would like.

    David

Would you only file one model?

Yes. It makes the management of the site a lot easier if you stay with a Template.dwt.

A well-designed template everything including your site have some items may not appear on all pages of the child.  Some examples are slideshows, galleries or calendars. This is where the optional regions come into play.

  • Where can I find DreamWeaver templates?

Does anyone know where to find DreamWeaver templates that are not too expensive?

Template.dwt files are an exclusive feature of DW that facilitates the management of site a little.

DW comes with some pre-constructed CSS Layouts that you can use to jump start your projects.  You will find under file > New > blank page > HTML, 3rd Panel.

  • Dreamweaver templates

Difficulty with links, created in dreamweaver and pages system bc models.

For example and the path created in dreamweaver model will look like this for a "... / pictures/smallheader.jpg 'or'... /CSS-Modular/Modular-Text.css '. This seems to work fine when downloaded and connected to the pages I create, but some pages system generated, i.e. implemented blog page, product pages are not links.

It seems for the moment to be limited to pages where I applied the model in the backend of BC, as shown pages I create and download seem to work fine. I tested it and I can replace the links with absolute paths, but this isn't really an efficient workflow to make sites portable or to work with the tools of dreamweaver link and need to manually replace all links.

Is there something I should do differently to invite BC generated pages to recognize links in dreamweaver templates?

This is normal, to aid '... / image.jpg "to create a link go relative to the folder running, take a look at absolute vs Relative Paths and links | CoffeeCup Software for a detailed description of different techniques to post an active link.

    Hope this helps,

  • Terrible problems with BC and Dreamweaver

I've used Dreamweaver for awhile now, and one of my favorite features is the ability to create templates.  Models have saved me countless hours of work to set up a site and the ability to edit entire sections with a single file.  Recently, I changed to use only stand for creative cloud programs.  At first, I was a little excited to use Business Catalyst, but more I use more, I hate it.

When I create an HTML file from a template, all the code for the template is added to the file.  If I take this single HTML file to another computer I can open it perfectly fine with everything I need in there.  However, if I download it to denounce business, it is then separated into two separate files: model and content.  Then, for some unknown reason, the model file appears in white on Business Catalyst and subsequently causes my site in full to lost half of its content on each page.  All I want is to be able to transfer my files on a web server without going through my code invaded by a third-party program.  I want to type the code I have to appear on the internet.  Is - that so much to ask?

To use Dreamweaver templates, you need to add the tag {tag_pagecontent} where you want the content of your page.

When you download the template he edits a .html file automatically. In a way, this system is a little better, because when you modify the template, you don't have to download all the files that use it.

To create a new page, it is best to do this in British Colombia - not Dreamweaver. And determine the model of the page here. It's just a different workflow but in some ways, it's a little better-, others not so much.

  • Second question about Dreamweaver templates

    HIiya,

My next question on Dreamweaver templates.  I used the 2 fixed coumn, sidebar and footer model to create this page.  http://www.gillwykes.com/development/frank_test/template_test.html

I created the flyout on a different page, and it worked fine.  But for some reason any when I copy and past in the page template, the submenus disappear when I hover over them.  Have I forgotten to copy a full piece of code, or have I missed something?

    Thank you

Great thanks a lot. I'll look at these options!

  • Dreamweaver template issue

    Hello

A few questions very newbie here.  I'm playing with Dreamweaver templates for the first time and find all the great.  But I'm having a few problems...  The first is that I have an image as the background of the .container div, which is fine, but if I try to delete the footer, for some reason, I lose the background image in the .container div  I can get around that for the moment be keep the footer but makes it transparent, but I don't know at some point I'll have a design with no foot, so really need to understand what is happening here.

If it helps the site can be found at http://www.gillwykes.com/development/frank_test/template_test.html

Thanks for the tips.  I'll try to give up absolute positioning and go to floats and containers. I feel it start all over, but I hope that, in the long term, it will save me time.

  • Best strategy of export of Fireworks in Dreamweaver

I have created a navigation bar in Fireworks, and now I want to export in Dreamweaver.

So I Went in Edition-> copy the Code HTML (shorthand for this is Ctrl + Alt + C)

Now, what is the "best choice" among the choices of dialogue: AIR HTML, Dreamweaver HTML, generic HTML, GoLive HTML, XHTML AIR, Dreamweaver XHTML, XHTML generic or GoLive XHTML for a 'professional' of cross browser Web site?

I only tried the 'Dreamweaver HTML Option' and resort to work well in my opinion rookie.

I think that this technique could be at a cost of performance to my graphics or site speed. So use another strategy of export Fireworks to Dreamweaver?  I have the CS5 package to allow to use one of these support programs.

    Thank you

INHO, the best way to export from Fireworks to Dreamweaver must first define your site in Dreamweaver and then export the Fireworks document to the active folder. Place your cursor where you want the navigation bar on your HTML page and choose Insert > Image objects > Fireworks HTML.
