Messages being returned from the server

Duplicate emails are re-sent to my Inbox days or weeks after their arrival at the origin. They show the original time and date.
Why is this? It is really very annoying. Thank you.

I guess you have a different POP - if mail account please let me know.

At this point, I don't know if these emails are actually downloaded again or if you have some old deleted messages being resurrected.

If the emails were deleted and have made their reappearance, then it seems that the Inbox folder may be showing signs of corruption. Then follow these steps:

Move all the good emails out of the Inbox in the appropriate folders.
Delete all the emails you want.

Empty the folder "Spam" and "Deleted" - use right-click on the folder and select this option for example. Chute.

then right click on junk e-mail and select 'compact the file.
Do the same with the file 'deleted '.

then make a right click on the "Inbox" completely empty and select 'compact the file.

Normally, you don't need to empty the Inbox to compact the fodler, but if there be no possibility of a corrupted file, it is a wise precaution.

be sure to compact the folders on a regular basis.

If it keeps downloading the same downloaded loads before e-mail, it seems that the file popstate.dat has gone awol.

The 'popstate.dat' file keeps track of what has been downloaded. You need to access the profile folder, and then delete this file. The profile folder is a hidden file, so it must make visible hidden files and folders to see.

make hidden files visible:

Additional info profile folder:

In Thunderbird

  • Help > troubleshooting information
  • Click on the view file"" button.
  • a new window opens to display the your profile folder
  • Close Thunderbird now
  • Click the folder "mail".
  • Click on the "mail account name.
  • Scroll down and look for "popstate.dat" a DAT file.
  • Delete "popstate.dat".
  • close window - top right X
  • Open Thunderbird

Thunderbird will create a new file "popstate.dat" and start to download all that is in the server Inbox for the email thunderbird Inbox account. But only once.

After you resolve the popstate file, you can have loads of duplicate e-mail messages. You can use this Addon to help remove them:

I think the problem might be the option "when I delete them. That tells Thunderbird to reach out and the cops messages on the server when you delete them in Thunderbird. Instead, check the box to leave messages on the server and clear the check boxes under that.

  • Thunderbird deletes the messages from the server if I said not to do so.

I use a POP3 server and have 'leave messages on the server - until I delete"checked but Thunderbird is still deleting messages from the server before my other e-mail viewer gets it.

If my other program (from MR2ICE under OS2 on another machine) Gets the first messages, I'll see them on both machines.

If Thunderbird 'em first I don't get them on the other machine, and, when I check via webmail, they aren't there.

    Thank you.

If you want to see messages on several machines, POP is not the best choice. You choose to use POP, or is it you imposed by the e-mail provider?

I don't have a job here POP account to check with, but you can try with the option ' until I have delete ' unchecked? You doing anything with messages, such as moving them to another folder?

I've never been confident with the way that ' until I have remove the ' works; If a message has been moved out of the Inbox to another folder, and you remove it, a request to delete the message always spread on the server?

With IMAP, by moving a message to a folder in account to somewhere the IMAP server can not see it is actually a deletion; the server can no longer see the message, so syncs by removing its own copy of this message. I haven't checked through what a POP server is in similar circumstances.

  • My email has stopped taking in the messages from the server

All of a sudden my Mozilla account has stopped taking in the messages from the server (yahoo). I go to the website of Yahoo mail and I see many new messages but none of them come thru. There is one exception. I get an email again and again that makes it. I've checked everything and even deleted my account and more. Nothing has changed.

Good. You can then mark the thread as "Solved" Please?
    Thank you.

  • I want to save the messages on my computer, but remove them from the server. How can I do this?

Once I have download the messages on the hard drive of my computer, I want to delete them from the server. What should I do?

Messages stored in local folders are yours to keep regardless of what is or isn't on any server.

If you move the messages from the folder in the local folders account it will be achieve your needs in a single action; they will be saved locally and will be deleted from the server.

  • I can't have the deleted messages from the server after that they landed in my box in. There was a checkbox in the settings of the server to "leave messages on server".

My other 2 accts in THB have the checkbox to remove the message from the server. they are configured as a POP mail server The new account is IMAP if this has any bering.

There. With IMAP, all mail is handled on the server. You can move messages from the server to your 'Local folders' account if that's what you want to do.

  • What is Apple doing to solve the problem of the emails which the bodies are removed and a note informs you that this message has not been downloaded from the server?  It's also appear when a message is placed in the Recycle Bin.

That made Apple to fix the problem where the body of emails is endangered and there is a note saying the e-mail was not downloaded from the server?  It's also appear on messages that are put in the trash.  I have a pop.earthlink account and understand that it affects the pop accounts.  The problem started after I downloaded IOS 9 and is much worse.  Messages received yesterday are now endangered, however some messages that I received in early November before downloading the new software still exist and are very good.

    Hi Bonnie,.

It is a user to user forum, anything that apple made to solve a problem so isn't something you find info on here.

The iOS is not a classic operating system.    I asked that your post moved to the forum of the iPad.

POP accounts are generally customer (as opposed to the server function) and stored on your device.  If your device on space is insufficient, the settings for the e-mail may restrict downloads on your device, resulting in the message in question.   This is particularly true for all messages that come with attachments or are preformatted html.   Ask your contacts to send messages in plain text.

  • Email from being erased from the SMTP server blackBerry Smartphones

I have setup my Storm just to collect email from my personal account, which is in an area of SMTP in Windows Server (no Exchange). I see that when I get a message on the storm, it is immediately removed from the server, so my normal PC does not see everything. There is the option when you delete a message in the storm to remove only locally, or delete the copy on the server and local, but it seems to be a little too rambuncious! For now I have to delete my account off the coast of the storm, but I would really like to be able to use it for timely emails when I go out in the field.

And you were correct. I did a sniff of this ethernet on the SMTP server port and found an Exchange Server that has a Connector POP3 pointing on the account. Deleted the POP3 Connector (that Exchange server is not live yet) and the post office started acting normally.
