Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 required administrator rights

I have Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (I know, I know) and when I try to run it from a limited account, I get an error stating that I have administrator privileges. Is it possible to replace that or enter my password once? I don't need my children asking me my password every time they want to play. It doesn't seem like it does all what changes the computer, why can't it be used in a user account only limited?

Specifications of the computer:

  • HP (not sure of the exact model number)
  • Windows XP SP3 (fully updated)
  • AMD Athlon X 2 Dual Core 4400 + @2.19 Ghz
  • 1 GB OF RAM
  • Graphic ATI Express 200 Radon

I don't mind enter my password once to grant access, I'm not only you have to enter it every time my kids want to play. Thank you for your help.

This is normal.

As a work around, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the shortcut or the name of the program file.
  2. Click Advanced, click run with different credentials, and then click OK.
  3. Start the program.
  4. When you are prompted, type an administrator user ID and password.

    What can I do?

    Hello

    1. which edition of Windows are you using? Is - this edition is 32-bit or 64-bit?

Given that the game is compatible with Windows 7, I suspect that the conflict can be 32-bit or 64-bit architecture.
The link below shows the compatibility of this game with Windows 7.

    Method 1.
We must ensure that the edition of the game must correspond with the operating system.
If you use 64-bit in this game, you need the 64-bit Windows to install it.
    Method 2.
If the above information matching I you recommend to start the computer in clean condition and then try to install the game.

  • Investigation of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 disc

I bought FS 2004 a few years ago and installed on my old computer and really enjoyed playing.

I recently bought a new computer running Windows Vista Basic, like my old office was getting old enough and a lot of problems develop. Therefore, I uninstalled all the software on the old computer, so I could reinstall some of them on the new computer.

I managed to uninstall MS 2004 and had all the disks and the necessary information for the installation on the new computer, however I was distracted during the instalation and was busy making dinner in the kitchen.

During this time my three year old son thought it would be interesting to test the longevity of the CD / DVD by chewing and damage my 4 FS 2004 disc, and so I could not complete the installation.

I was wondering if there was any way I could acquire a new 4 disk instead of having to pay to buy a completely new version of FS 2004. I'm a big fan of flight simulator and you have a lot of use out of it, I would really apprciative any help anyone could offer.

    Thanks again

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 vs Windows 7 compatibility

I installed MS Flight Simulator in Windows 7. The installation went well.
And I could start MS Flight Simulator until the home page appeared.
BUT: during the opening of "videoparts' (i.e. the statement at the beginning, the parts of MS FS with moving images) the program closed and a message says:
"There was a problem. The program does much more. The program will be closed. »
I tried to find out if something went wrong with the compatibility. But everyhting seems fine.
I hope someone can help me with my favorite game show.

All I can think now is to update your video drivers.

If it still does not work, unfortunately it is something wrong with your computer because it says here that FS2004 is fully compatible with Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit):

  • After the upgrade to windows 7 Ultimate I downlosded Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and he lights up in low resolution and cannot be used. What can be done to corecct it?

    Cannot run fs9

    herbmah,
If you still experience this issue, then you should try the following.

Update your drivers for your video and audio.  Ensure that the manufacturer has Windows 7 drivers for your specific hardware.  You may also look for both motherboard chipset drivers.

If you still have problems after updating all your drivers, then clean restart your PC and test.

  • 2004 Microsoft Flight Simulator

I used Flight Simulator 2004 from Microsoft on my Windows 7 for several years without problem. Suddenly, the program has stopped coming after clicking on the icon.  Nothing happens.  I used the system restore to return about 2 months, then did happen when I clicked on the icon, but then the next time the program after it is is again.  Any ideas why I opened this program? Thank you.

    Hello, Davis,.

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for details on the issue.

This problem can occur for the following reasons:

-The My Documents folder is not in the default location.
-L'installation of DirectX is corrupted or is not correctly updated.
-The NVIDIA Driver Helper Service interferes with Flight Simulator 2004.
-The configuration file is damaged, or the default settings must be changed.

I suggest you use the steps in this article and check if it helps.

  • MSFT Flight Simulator 2004

I want to run Flight Simulator 2004 on my laptop. The game requires Windows XP and has relatively modest processor, storage and video requirements by today's standards, so I guess that my laptop is up to the task. I have a 64 bit Lenovo X140e (may 2013 or 2014 model with certainly enough computing power and storage to run FS 2004). He currently runs Windows 10.

My plan is to partition my hard drive to install Windows XP or Windows 7 to launch FS 2004 on that partition, with 10 windows on the other partition my new programs running.  My questions:

Stupid project? If so, why, and is there a better way to accomplish what I'm doing?

A post previous re: FS 2004 has indicated that it is necessary to determine if my FS 32-bit version or a 64-bit. How do I know if my version of FS is 32-bit or 64-bit? It does not say on the package or inserts, and since I can't get the game to run, I paint a white.  FS2004 made even in a 64-bit version?

I'd be better to just buy an old computer with Windows XP or Win 7? (I heard that Windows 7 can run Windows XP games). Thank you

There is a problem (at least) two with your plan.

You will find it difficult to get a legitimate copy of Windows XP or Windows 7.

Even if you find or you already have a retail copy of one, it seems that Lenovo offers not all drivers for Windows XP.  It seems that there are Windows 7 drivers: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-X-Series-laptops/ThinkPad-X140e?tabName=Downloads&linkTrack=Mast:SubNav:Support:Drivers % 20and % 20Software | drivers % 20and % 20Software & beta = false

If I were you, I would buy a used computer with Windows XP installed.  Just make sure you get one with a decent video card and enough RAM.  I suspect XP used computers that you will find many companies that had no interest in capacity chart game

If you manage to find a copy of Windows 7 Professional, or buy a computer with Windows 7 Pro already installed (probably about the same price), you can download the Microsoft XP Mode (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8002) and install FS 2004 in the virtual machine.  There is, however, no guarantee that XP Mode works for FS.  Microsoft offers XP Mode for businesses that want to upgrade to Windows 7, but still had management software requires XP.  A decent graphics card was not a problem, and the virtual graphics card in XP Mode is a map of "S3 Trio 32/64" SVGA: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/833144
