Microsoft KB 2272691 and KB 982110 - missing security update language bar
Hello.
After installing the updates mentioned my language bar has disappeared from the taskbar.
All attempts to bring him back was not working. After uninstalling updates came back.
Running Windows 7 prof 64 bit
Hi Vadav,
Step 1
A. Click Start > Control Panel and open regional and Language Options.
B. go to the tab "keyboards and languages".
C. click "change keyboards.
D. Select the tab "Language bar", check the option "docked in the taskbar.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/the-language-bar-overview
Step 2
Right-click the taskbar, point to toolbars, and then click Language bar. Once the language bar is displayed, you can right-click to display options to change its settings, including her home in the taskbar or display vertically and not horizontally.
If the language bar is not listed in the menu toolbars, you do not have many input languages installed on your computer. You must add additional languages by using the regional and Language Options in Control Panel. For more information, see Add an input language.

I chose reset when Shift and double click on the icon of the Office (and not in Safe Mode) and it worked. Someone had mentioned previously is not to do this, but it doesn't seem to be another option.
I lost all my Add-ons, but my favorites are there.
Essential is that it worked! I never knew so much grief trying to get something fixed. I think I might switch to another browser.

OK brand new windows 7 home premium desktop did yesterday, all the running back usual disks etc. and update, but I was offered and installed the update above about 10 times. How can I fix this, have tried searching and I find Vista responds ok but not for Windows 7.
Quick update, the fix above certainly did not in the present case even if this has worked for me in the past on other machines.
Im going to say I think I cured problem for now in any case.
How I did it is I went into microsoft downloads and downloaded the update kb954430 and recorded on my machine. I then ran this update and instead of installing it, I used the option to remove the update, which came in the installer. Reebooted machine then let windows automatically download and install the update even I had just removed and it seems to have installed correctly this time I get is more asked to install it again.
Thanks for the help Supreth, well aware that this is a common problem and I didn't know the fix for XP and vista, but guess I was just not the confidence to try it in windows 7 on my nice new shiny machine. Although your method did not work for me this time the link you provided of course lead me on the correct path to a better understanding of why this has happened. GREATLY APPRECIATED

This problem exists on both computers to dual boot w/XP Pro and Win 7 RC. Computers also have MS Security Essentials and no other security software.
Originally, the update process was OK, but changed several months ago.
Any Suggestions? .. .thanks
First you tell us that "computers... have MS Security Essentials and no other security software" installed. Now, tell us the NIS 2010 and the Service is installed. Explain.
Did you purchase the SAV & is the current subscription?
Have you bought NIS & is the current subscription?
On the computer/partition where was installed NIS 2010 Beta: don't you downloe ad/run the removal tool Norton after uninstalling the beta version before installing Microsoft Security Essentials?
The behavior persists if you uninstall NIS & SAV, download/run the Norton removal (on the partition where NIS was installed), and then install MSE (only)?
Comments: The light of the foregoing, it will be almost impossible for help with two 2 dual-boot computers, not to mention to dual-boot with Win7 RC (possibly unsupported versions).

I want to free memory space and have years of security updates to windows of the pak series 3 services. Is there a way to free up space or I will damage the operating system?
There are a number of things you can do to- temporarily - free up disk space. The only real solution, however, is to get a bigger internal hard drive. You can move the data to an external drive, but if it's the data that you use frequently, slower access times may annoy you. Therefore, I do not recommend that you move your My Documents folder in its entirety on an external drive, but you can certainly do this by following the related instructions.
- You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
- You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
- You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
- You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
- You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)
- You can remove most of the $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx files $ following the directions here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm (read the warnings in the gray box first)
- See also:
" How to recover disk space on Windows Server 2008 and Windows XP computers? ."
" Forty ways to free disk space ."
But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long. The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.
In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space and seem to so indicate what files you must move it to your external drive. If you want to move an application on an external drive, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall it specifying your external drive as the installation location (and even then, it is likely going to install some files on your main system drive). You can not simply move the files.
