Microsoft Media Player for Windows 7 Starter

A friend gave me a laptop HP Compaq Mini with Windows 7 Starter as the os that had Microsoft Media Player. The 1st time I tried to use it but it disappeared. I just double-clicked on it and it never opened. Then the icon disappeared and is no longer in the list of programs. I know it's probably still on the hard drive somewhere, but I have no idea how access. Also, I can't find the download for it on Microsoft.com is. Help, please!

A few options here - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-pictures/error-windows-media-player-cannot-play-the-dvd/acbedfaa-a7ce-4595-837b-af38bfe5219a

VLC is mentioned and is actually another 3rd Media Player free of party. If you decide to try this to read this particular DVD, then installing it don't let "resume" and become the player by default for all types of files, only after you have tried and are happy with it. Just manually open the DVD from VLC and WMP let him as a player for the rest of default you.

  • Media Player for Windows 7 is the worst program I have ever delt with and don't ever use again

For all of you out there. I read tons of message and responses on this forum and have tried all of the solutions that I found related to my questions. Nothing and I mean nothing doesn't work, music disappears: go back to the bed the other day, or the time you use it happens repeatedly. All tracks will not add in an album album evil is a long list... no solution works or works and lasts. Microsoft really needs to think about it with the next version of Windows. I never had problems with the media player to Vista and 7. Sorry, everything but this user MP gave up.

  • Media player for windows 7 64 bit

I bought a new PC a few months ago and it came preloaded with windows 7 and it's a 64-bit computer.  I'm reading some .wmv files and windows media player does not work.  When I double click on the desktop icon, nothing happens.  I also went in the folder where it is located and double-click wmplayer.exe and, yet again, nothing happens.  I understand that it would come as part of windows 7.  When I go on the site of microsoft for downloads support, none of the media player downloads apply to my system.

I also tried to re - run the setup.exe for wmplayer and he said that there is already a newer version, so it cannot install it.  I can't understand what I need to do.

    Hello chdk86,

First of all, I uninstall and reinstall Windows Media Player to see if there is any corruption that could cause the problem.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Media Player:
    Step 1.
    Uninstalling Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. search for multimedia and uncheck the brand in the face of Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer

    Step 2.
    Reinstall Windows Media Player:
    1. go to start and in the search type "Turn Windows willing or not.
    2. click on "Turn Windows features on or off".
    3. find the multimedia functions and place a check mark in front of the Windows Media Player.
    4 restart the computer.

If you encounter problems with Windows Media Player, try using the troubleshooter to see if this fixes

    the problem.

Open the troubleshooter of settings of Windows Media Player by clicking the theStart button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, typetroubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Click all, and then click the Windows Media Player settings.

If the size of the .wmv files is too large, it can cause Windows Media Player to stop working.

I try and remove videos from Windows Media Player library and test to see if the size of the files could be a problem.

Please answer back with an update.

  • No Windows Media Player for Windows 7

I am trying to send files to my computer (Windows 7) to my Play Station 3 Wireless through Windows Media Player.

I just discovered that my computer does not have Windows Media Player on it. I could play movies with her, but never open the program. Then I tried it in my programs and files, but the only thing that came was Windows Media Center.

I also tried to make assistance remotely with a support technician, but after 25 minutes with their help, they could not understand the problem. And now, my files play not at all, saying that I haven't completely downloaded the windows media player and sends me the site to download it again. Unfortunately I have windows 7, and is the only file that I can download for xp and windows vista.

Does anyone think they could help me everything?

  • I wonder if anyone is familiar with this type of problem with the help of a Windows Media Player for DVD videos.

    Hello!
I came across a problem with my dvd on my laptop drive. The program that I use on my laptop is Media player from Windows. And the laptop will recognize the DVD and everything, but when it starts to play, it gives me this message from Windows Media Player: "Windows Media Player cannot play video DVDs. You may need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try to lower your screen resolution and color quality settings. »

Now I always use the old Windows XP for my laptop, but I can't seem to understand how to adjust the color quality and lower my screen resolution. Does anyone have a little step by step process that I could follow to do this?

The problem is that Windows XP does not play DVD movies in native mode. You can
have a DVD player, but it can only read DATA DVD at this time. In the order
install a DVD codec to read video DVD discs. First we will
Install this program from Microsoft and run it, and if you have a DVD
Codec, it will appear in the display window. Download this program from
    here:

    http://www.softwarepatch.com/Windows/windowsdvdmpeg.html

If it shows that you don't have a codec DVD installed, then you can
buy one on one of the links on this page:
