  Hi, I recently installed a program called "CopyTrans Manager" and it is safe. I open it and then I get a UAC prompt saying a program named Microsoft Register Server wants to make changes. I click on no, then he automatically jumps back another message. Keeps it doing that I press Yes. Nothing happens and I'm going to my day. I scan with Malwarebytes and came up with nothing. MRS is a virus? I'm really scared right now.

  Microsoft Register Server is the command used to register the dll (Dynamic Link Libraries) in Windows.

  The command is with the full path regsvr32 being C:\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe

  Click on 'More details' in the UAC prompt and if the path is the same you can approve it.

  The Microsoft Register Server or regsvr32.exe is a legitimate process, but can be used to record the malicious dll so allow only to trust software (as you know that CopyTrans Manager is safe).

  Try the following and see if it helps.

  I suggest to try the next step and check if it helps.

  a. go to start, control panel and click on system.
  b. now, click on the Advanced tab, and under performance, click settings.
  c. click on Data Execution Prevention and turn on the turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select: radio button.
  d. now click on the Add button and navigate to C:\Windows\SysWoW64 and choose the regsvr32.exe file.
  e. When you receive the message indicating that he may make your computer protected and vulnerable to attack, simply click OK to continue.
