  • Errors when trying to install KB2251481 - update of security for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 XML Editor

I try to install the KB2251481update:

Update of security for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 XML Editor

When I run it on my computer in the Panel of control/updates section to update, it fails. I get an error from the A66 without details.

Here's a screenshot of the error of the A66.

I am running Vista Home Premium.

It has been suggested for this A66 error to go to the section control/uninstall Panel, click on the "MS .net Framework 4 Client Profile" and fix it. I did it successfully. I tried to run the update again; and he failed again with the error of the A66.

I read a post on another forum of MS who suggested downloading the patch here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=26383

I downloaded and tried to run. I read the description. He said it was for VS 2005 for Vista.
He failed. I got another error:

"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded is may be missing or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch. »

Here is a screenshot on my account Flickr of this error.

Can anyone help with these errors so that I can install the update for Visual Studio 2005?
    Am I missing something?
    I can provide more information?

  • Service Pack 2 could not install, windows can not access the service install and slow computer

Please help, I'm using Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I'm not very technical, and I think that my problems began some time ago when Vista Service Pack 2 Installation causing boot failure has failed and that I could not connect. I tried a fix by using the Startup Repair and was able to connect again, but now all my Vista updates since then do not install and now my computer is running extremely slow, constantly trolling.  I also have problems "windows service install could not have access. I have tried to reinstall Windows Installer 4.5 but says "update does not apply to my system. I also tried to unregister and re-register Windows install that does not work. When I try to 'upgrade' my installation disc vista, the option is not available. I think my computer is confused if it running SP1 or SP2. Also I can not install programs because of the installer, the service to publish a work around if needed. Thank you

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?  Who were these applications that run in the background when you tried to install SP2?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on the computer (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

    (1) how to use the MS Visual Studio 2010 Report Viewer?

    (3) is shipped with Visual Studio, identical to MS Report Viewer in Report Viewer?

  • Vista Service Pack 1 is NOT installed

So, I wanted to upgrade to Windows 7. Unfortunately my installer for 7 told me that I had to first install Service Pack 1. Large. I know I don't have because it does not appear on my list of Windows Edition. I try to get it from Windows Update, but when I search for updates, it shoots only other stuff (e.g. Office Genuine Advantage Notification KB949810), but the service pack does. I checked my update history and apparently this Service Pack 1 could not install and I received the error code 80080008.

So I download the thing directly from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=139503, and when it finished downloading it disappears. Then I saved it on my desktop and when I click on it nothing happens. Can someone help me?

Slurgly wrote: This would have to do with a question I had on several occasions with the installation of .NET framework 1.1 Service pack and the .NET framework through update 3.5 service pack?

Yes, it's a possibility. These updates of .NET Framework are among a myriad of SP1 updates, like, for example, KB955430 & KB947821.

But I'm more concerned about one or two other things:

    1. the error 80080008 is very rarely seen and suggests that an infection in progress hijackware is at the origin of the problem.

2 Vista SP1 is available through Windows Update (for most users) since March 18, 2008 (SP2 since March 2009). It is very unusual that SP1 has not yet install on your computer again.

How long Avast4 has been installed? What antivirus application was installed before you installed Avast and your subscription always news when you have uninstalled it in preparation for the installation of Avast?

A Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on this machine (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

The foregoing, your best bet at this point may be to back up your personal data, format the HARD drive and do a clean install of Vista to get it then patched up to SP1 before you perform the upgrade to Win7.

I doubted much that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) would solve the problem. Speaking of which, have you ever done a repair for some reason installation any?

PS: Free support for installation of SP1 problems has been available since March 18, 2008 through June 30, 2009. This support would cost you $59 USD per incident (or more) now.
