  Start the computer in safe mode (press F8 continuously immediately after power and don't worry beeps when you press the button) and let it boot without a network.  Once there right click on the desktop and then click Properties.  Click settings and the value of the monitor mode (640 X 480) VGA or SVGA (800 X 600).  Accept the changes and restart the computer.  You should have a mediocre screen, but you should see it now.  Download and install the appropriate drivers for your video card in the laptop to the web site of the manufacturer of the laptop.  Install the drivers and then you should be able to set the display of the laptop to the correct native resolution for your computer monitor (must be in the documentation of the laptop).

  If you have purchased a retail package, it should include the disk for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Otherwise, you can download a backup copy at the following link and use the same product key that allows you to enable the 32-bit version. Its a possibility, you may need to reactivate by phone, see below for instructions:

  You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

  Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive.   I have a Compaq Presario CQ60-320SA, which came with Vista Home Premium 32-bit and do a new install of 7 Pro 64-bit.  Now I want to go back but F11 does not work, and there is no recovery for a reason Manager any. The recovery partition is still there.

  I don't have useful recovery discs because when I tried to make them when I got the laptop, the process has failed for an unknown reason (I asked the TechGuys, who suggested to use a better quality than DVD, but I don't bother).
