Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 4000 not recognized on the new 64 bit Windows 7 computer.

Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 4000 not recognized on the new 64 bit Windows 7 computer. The computer thinks I have a keyboard 600 wireframe. I tried to install the IntelliType 8.2 64-bit for Windows 7 driver but it tells me that I already have a newer driver installed and won't let me install it. Are there specific drivers for this keyboard. I love the keyboard but I can't customize the special keys.

I recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 installed and much to my dismay found my Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 4000 and Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 are not compatible with Windows 7.  If no fix that means I have to start avery good keyboard and mouse I used comfortable for a long time.

When you try to load from the disk, the message informed me that it was not compatible and use the automated system to find a fix has not produced an answer.  My keyboard and mouse are in great shape and it is not necessary for me to replace it with a new one from a material point of view.

The drivers for both devices on the drive that you are probably older versions, you should be able to download the latest drivers for Windows 7 in the pages below, you will need to choose which version of Windows 7, you are running, that is, 32-bit or 64-bit.

  • Logical disk partition not recognized in the New Installation of Windows

Hello.  I would appreciate someone to give me any advice.  I don't know if the problem I encounter is an oversight on my part, but it was not something that I anticipated.

To give a bit of background, until last week, I was running a Windows 7 system on my computer which included three hard drives (4 TB, 2 TB, and a smaller disk).  The 4 TB drive included my boot drive with Windows on a partition of 2 TB and then the unallocated space has been transformed into a new partition in disk management, received the drive letter G and was used for long term backup of data.

Since then, I built a new computer and installed a new version of Windows 7 on a small SSD.  During this process, I have not all disks connected to the machine (except the DVD player) so that there is no possibility of installation of Windows, do something for these readers I didn't (I got burned by this time long ago when you reinstall Windows 95, which makes me just feel old).  After the whole installation process was performed and the new version of Windows has been working well, I opened the machine and plugged the drive 4 TB and 2 TB, assuming that Windows did not recognize them when I started.

When I started in Windows, Windows does indeed recognize the two drives and assign drive letters.  But in the case of the car of 4 TB, he acknowledges that the partition containing my old boot drive.  No drive letter is assigned to the secondary partition.  When I go to disk management, it shows all of the remaining spaces as unallocated space, but seems not yet quite recognize space completely in the way he would if I'd created directly.  For example, if I right click in that box, I don't get the normal options to create a new Simple Volume.  Everything on this menu is grayed out except properties and help.

So I guess I have two questions.  (Leaving aside the possibility of a hardware problem), was I wrong to assume that a hard drive divided into two partitions could be transferred from a Windows machine to another?  I honestly thought that no matter where no matter what Windows 7 machine would recognize the two drives, but maybe I'm missing something fundamental.

Two and more important still, there advice for access to the data on this drive?

    Hello

A problem that could happen is that the disk partition has security setting so that the profile of the user that created it would be able to access it, and seeing that you are trying to access from a new profile may not not allow you to access

To access these files, you can try to boot from the old hard drive manually to change the setting of the partition or simply manually move the files and delete the partition.

To start from the old disk hard restart have the hard drive is plugged in, restart the computer and while it is booting F12 key to select the boot device, after that, select the old hard disk and access them normally.

    hope this has helped.

  • Old pc in enclosure hard disk not recognized by the new pc using windows vista

Old pc unbootable.  Got a new laptop and want to recover data on the old hard drive.  Use a Sweex 3.5 IDE enclosure, to connect the old hard drive via the USB port again mobile. The hard drive is visible in device management, but not in my computer.  No idea how to solve this problem?

    Hi Tomvdv,

At this point, it would be best to contact directly the Sweex.  It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to provide drivers for their devices:

My keyboard Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 1. 0 has kept deleting characters.  I often have to book several times a button.   I can reset it and it works a little better for a short period, but then begins to drop characters even once.

Reinstall the software/drivers will help? If so is there a link for this?

    Probably not.

I am not sure, but it seems that either the battery needs
replacement or the keyboard itself is a failure and he needs

  • Driver problem Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 5000

    I'm on Windows x 64 8.
I have a strange problem with my Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 5000. Whenever I start the computer, the volume buttons (only ones) do not work unless I unplug the wireless adapter and plug it in again. I suspect a problem with the Microsoft Mouse and keyboard detection driver (USB) (version 9.2.154.0). I tried to roll back to an earlier version, uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Mouse and keyboard Center (latest version), using the default keyboard drivers Microsoft, even changing compatibility. The problem persists. Please note that I never had this problem when running Windows 7. Any ideas?
    Thank you

    It worked for me...

    1 remove the batteries.

    2 turn off your computer.

    3. move the dongle on another USB port. (USB 3.0 if you have one)

    4. put back in place the batteries.

    5 re-boot!

It fixed my issue with all the key assignments!

    Good luck!

    lightinthedark3300,
Is there anyway that you can test the keyboard on another computer?  At this point we don't know if the keyboard still works or not.  You said that there no lights on this at all - not even for the shift caps lock, NumLock, and stop scroll?  There should be some kind of lights on the receiver of these functions and if those who do not work, then, the keyboard is probably defective.

Here is a link to an article that has some good troubleshooting steps to wireless keyboards, including how do to re - sync with computer.
