Welcome to the Microsoft Vista answers Forum!
· You use the quick launch to open the application?
· This phenomenon occurs only with the desktop icons?
· Since when are you facing this problem? Do you remember all the recent software or hardware changes made on your computer?
I suggest measures are:
If it was working fine before, then you can do the system restore. Restore the computer to an earlier time when it was working fine. To restore the computer successfully the following steps;
i. Click Start, type system restore, right click on the system restore and click "Run as Administrator".
II. choose the right date, when the system worked very well and follow the instructions in the wizard to complete the process

Microsoft Word has disappeared from my computer, how do I get it back?
I bought a netbook with a reduced version of Windows 7. I bought 7 Edition widows Home premium and had no problems so far. Microsoft Word suddenly disappeared and I can't access any of My Documents or open. I tried a point to restore and reinstall Windows 7 but even when Word has not been restored. What can I do?
What version of Office Word was it? If it's 2010, do you have anything to this place -
C:\Program Files (x 86) \Microsoft Office\Office14
Was the Windows 7 Home Premium, a new installation or an upgrade of the 'choke '? A clean install would not save installed programs.
If you do not have Word on your computer you will need to install it again, which would require you to buy if you have not all the files of configuration or CD

A person or group has taken over my computer
A few years ago, I downloaded accidentally malware/trojan/virus through a flash update. My internet has sent almost as much as she gets slow my computer down to ridiculous. A few years ago I enabled hidden files and found a whole bunch of very strange file names starting with $ and extremely long numbers. For example, $NtUninstallKB2655992$.
I looked into some of these hidden folders to find text files with a very strange, as the rectangles and something like nAuN dirty as a name in it.
There are 39 just in my Windows folder. In addition to a folder called $hf_mig$ who has stored all my XP system updates and, perhaps, since it happened. There are 38 updates since 10/10/2012 in there. Files named something close to KB2724197 are listed in there. I guess they are updated because they have almost the same name as the updates of today that I was not allowed to install.
Last night I started in safe mode to change the privileges on files hidden as a RECYCLER. When in safe mode, I clicked on RECYCLER to change the admin him. When he wouldn't let see who was the owner, I started to look around. In the box, there is a list of privileges to assign read/write, etc. But "special permission is grayed out. As I have gone through and created a new user for my self, I found this list of users;

So, what is with all this?
At this point, you have to assume that all of your data and personal information on the computer is compromised. You must ensure that your credit cards and other financial accounts have not been fraudulently used. Use a secure computer known to replace your passwords online. If you have already used an online credit card, call the credit card company and request a new account number (explain that your computer may have been compromised - they should treat it simply as a lost or stolen card).
Reading this, especially the last paragraph--> http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc700813.aspx
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to provide you with a way to reinstall Windows. If they cannot help you, ask the computer lab (or a renowned local independent repair store - not a store chain) and ask them if they can re-install version authentic Windows XP for you. They may or may not be able to do, depending on what the media available to them and that the label of certificate of authenticity of Windows XP on your computer can be read.
Overall, it may be cheaper to purchase a new netbook. You will not be able to get one with XP, however. You will probably have to get used to Windows 8 or Google Chrome.
Really, the alternative to reinstalling Windows or buy a new computer - and it is not a good alternative and is not guarantee of success - advertising interactive help in one of the specialized forums malware removal I listed before.
Although it is technically possible that your BIOS is infected, it is very likely (unless you live in China). A rootkit BIOS named Mebromi appeared a year or two ago, but it can only attack computers that use BIOS code produced by a specific vendor.

WordPad has taken over my computer, the icons and all!
In attempting to change the default value of the unknown for a program that can open zip files, I tried to use WordPad, given that Windows 7 appears to have eliminated the Windows Explorer as default. Suddenly, I realized everything in my bar tasks, and almost all of my programs are opened as WordPad, with what looked like hieroglyphics to text! I ran and no infection, they came and I am wanting to do a restore of the system to yesterday, but that, too, opens as WordPad! This zip file has caused me too many problems and I was not able to figure out how to open again! At this point, I'm afraid to do so, even if I had looked forward to receive the product. Same MSE opens as WordPad, as does everything else. I am able to open some sites only by choosing links in help! So may of you brilliant technicians help me out somehow from this quagmire?
Thank you very much!
Windows 7
THAT IS TO SAY 11
The zip file contains a program, or just compressed files? Usually if a zip file contains a malware
It does not infect your machine so that extract you it or run an executable that installs.
-Notepad is usually the best option to open unknown files to read the text.
A third program open source, Notepad ++ , it's even better.
Hieroglyphs would likely be machine code, not text.
-C' is weird that all file extensions appear to have changed to Wordpad. Maybe the zip file
contains a number of files with commonly used file extensions, and all of them have changed.
I'll waffle with what data I can offer still...
-Try using the Startup Option - last good known Configuration
(Click Start > restart and after Windows shuts but before it begins to restart start tapping)
the F8 key. This will display the Boot Options menu).
-If restore Boot Options didn't help, you may have to do some registry entries.
It is also possible to restore default file with a command prompt extensions, or a lot
file, but I don't know how to do this.
by default-file-type-associations-restore
- Or - maybe if you install 7 - zip (see below) you may be able to change the file association for zip files
7 - zip, and perhaps the rest will come as a result (I dare not experience)?
------
-When you use the Open or Open with options you must make sure to clear the check box
next to - 'always use the selected program to open this kind of file '.
This will stop with the open option to change the file Association for all files that use this extension.
(eg - .txt, dll, exe, and so on).
-Why MS made 'always use the selected program to open this kind of file '. the default value is a mystery
for me, as I very rarely want to change the file extension to always use a certain program, but there are many things that will try to open, and which are readable with Notepad.
-------
I use 7 - zip, which is very popular for extraction and compression of files.
Download the msi version that fits your Win7 - 32 or 64-bit. Run the msi file to install.
-------
If you do not install 7 - zip - (windows Help and Support on the start menu)-
- To extract a single file or folder, double-click the compressed folder to open it. Then, drag the file or folder the file is compressed to a new location.
-To extract the entire contents of the compressed folder, right-click the folder, click on Extract all , and then follow the instructions.

Meeting space Windows took over my computer, wanting me for some experience of laboratory on Vista computers. They change all my files write of false event logs to send to Microsoft to take me off of the internet, mess with my screen and what they want because I will not help them. I read on the Microsoft Forum here that many people complained of Windows support for their computers. It sounds ridiculous, but it's true. It is very difficult to enjoy your computer when this happens. In the Microsoft privacy policy, they tell you how to cancel registered iv6 that has to do with the meeting space. They just hung. They took off my Norton Security 4 times the other night because I wouldn't get them administrator. Who's going to do this right? I don't know who is behind all this. I tried to do a re-installation of operating and they controlled that. I guess I'm stuck with them for life. People of virus cannot remove them because they are Windows! Attention to your users of Vista, they want a private network and they slide people across the firewall. I have proof of all this and friends who have been witnesses and we try to understand the best way to move on this. I just wanted everyone to know.
