    Thank you

You can build the connection string you even.  The open function in the Toolbox of data base accepts a string as well (it's polymorphic) who can be the connection string.  This is the site I use to understand.  Is the most common things.  You may need to search Google more specific elements.

    http://www.ConnectionStrings.com/

If you want to use the other option, someone has achieved a UDL editor in LabVIEW.  You can use this code to create your own UDL which can use the Open DB function:

I have used the above code, so can't comment on that.

  • SQL server 2000 data source

I configure sql server to use windows authentication and created a SQLService system for her user name to use.
Everything is on the same machine, and I just want to make a data source...
I've tried about 30 different combinations of things and get in every time the same error...:

The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: error [Macromedia] [SQLServer JDBC Driver] socket creation. Connection refused: connect

I put 127.0.0.1 for the server, port 1433
I tried to put in the SQLService username and password, as well as my administrator username and password, and got the same previous error on both. I tried to use localhost and (local) for the server, without success.

Can someone tell me what im doing wrong?
This is a default error message that always appears, or you would get a different error message if it was just the wrong username and password?

    Any information would be helpful!

  • Peformance Gain for a different drive for the SQL Server data and log (VM) file?

    Hello

It is suggested to separate SQL Server 2012 data and log files in different drive for VM.  Is there a performance gain if two of them resided in the same logical (Partition VMDK) unit number?  OR should they (different dives) in different LUNS (Partition VMDK)?

    Thank you

The General mantra in the physical world goes as follows:

For optimal performance, you need to separate logs and database of transactions on different physical disks (e.g. disks) stacks.

This general concept applies naturally agnostically to virtual workloads as well. It essentially translates to:

For performance, you should put the files of database transactions on various resident on different LUNS VMDK or use separate RDM. You should also use a separate vSCSI controller to each VMDK/RDM as the controller has its own IO queue.

There is a point more important which is often neglected in the physical and virtual world in particular:

Ideally, you should make sure that your physical LUN for logs and DB are not a group of common disk same stacks of physical disks. This violates the general concept above.

  • Comments not imported SQL Server data dictionary. SDDM 3.3.0.747

    Hello

    SDDM 3.3.0.747 32-bit on Windows 7 64 bit.

Comments are not imported from the SQL Server 2008 data dictionary. Connection via Microsoft JDBC Driver for SQL Server jTDS 1.2.7 4.0

What did I try? In generation SDDM DDL, comments in DBRMS for SQL Server are generated with ' EXEC sp_addextendedproperty 'MS_Description', 'Test comment'...» "so I added an extended property named 'MS_Description' in the database SQL, both on the table and column. None of them have been imported from the SSDM data dictionary. I tried the above two pilots. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

I found the similar question thread Re: data dictionary import does not import comments from the column for SDDM 3.0.0.665, so I guess it's a bug when importing with JDBC drivers.

Extended properties have been imported correctly no database SQLServer to DM 3.3.0.747.

Calls to sp_addextendedproperty and fn_listextendedproperty have changed.

    I don't think it's a problem with JDBC drivers.

One bug fix should be available in the next version of the DM.

    Hello

I would like to test for a migration of the table that contains the image data in the Oracle database and invade the SQL Server table.

How to test for an Oracle table data to SQL Server migration?

But the first thing I want to confirm is that if the Image from Oracle DB to SQL Server DB data are possible? is there something must be supported during the migration?

I think that it is supported. The equivalent data type in sql server is IMAGE/varbinary (max)

See the bottom of the article for the mapping of data types:

  • SQL Server is down/down?

    VMware dear Experts,

vCenter Server is installed on a virtual machine and vCenter server database (SQL Server) is installed on one physical server, now SQL Server is broken, then how connect us to our database to solve the problem of vCenter.

    Concerning

    Mr. VMware...

    You have many options:

    1. create a SQL Vm as a replica of the physical server (same IP address, name, etc.)

a restore SQL DBs in SQL VM

b - keep the ODBC connection on vCenter exactly the same thing. Gift; t variation of the name.

c this should get your vCenter to talk on the new SQL Server (vCenter will think it is the same server).

2 - install SQL Express locally

the server to which point you a change, but DO NOT CHANGE the name or Description to the ODBC even if it's another name, or you have problems connecting to the DB.

3-If you have a different SQL server in the environment

a restore as in option 1

b change ODBC as option 2

    4. you can also use the Data Migration tool to migrate DB vCenter.

  • Customer Web and SQL to vCenter

I'm caught in a catch 22 and need some advice.

SQL Server vCenter use is hardware version 10 and setting of the material must be changed through the web client.  We tried adding hot 4 processors to put the server to 8 but then remembered that the OS is Standard and accepts that the 4 processors.  The web client doesn't let me do a hot remove to fall back to 4. So I say to myself, I need to close the virtual machine and then change the processors to 4.

The problem is that when I stop SQL server vCenters I can't do a lot of things inside the web client - such as see even the material of the box to bring SQL settings changes.  Of course if it wasn't Hardware version 10 I just connect to the host with the Windows Client and make the change.  This is obviously not an option here.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    My thoughts only are:

    1. put the Datacenter operating system (which we are allowed to) and let it use 8 CPUs

    2. stop the virtual computer and use converter stand alone to do a V2V and select a lower hardware version that the host can change and then make the changes with the Windows client that is connected to the host.

Some options are (with the virtual machine off):

    • use VMware Workstation 10 and connect to the ESXi host who currently hosts the SQL Server and change its settings.
    • manually edit the .vmx VM and either reduce the number of vCPUs by setting numvcpus = "4", or add cpuid.coresPerSocket = '2' which should present the 8-processor 4 processors dual-core for OS invited. Do not forget to change manually the .vmx file requires to reload, see VMware KB: reload a vmx file without removing the virtual machine to inventory
