Comments not imported SQL Server data dictionary. SDDM 3.3.0.747

Hello

SDDM 3.3.0.747 32-bit on Windows 7 64 bit.

Comments are not imported from the SQL Server 2008 data dictionary. Connection via Microsoft JDBC Driver for SQL Server jTDS 1.2.7 4.0

What did I try? In generation SDDM DDL, comments in DBRMS for SQL Server are generated with ' EXEC sp_addextendedproperty 'MS_Description', 'Test comment'...» "so I added an extended property named 'MS_Description' in the database SQL, both on the table and column. None of them have been imported from the SSDM data dictionary. I tried the above two pilots. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

I found the similar question thread Re: data dictionary import does not import comments from the column for SDDM 3.0.0.665, so I guess it's a bug when importing with JDBC drivers.

Extended properties have been imported correctly no database SQLServer to DM 3.3.0.747.

Calls to sp_addextendedproperty and fn_listextendedproperty have changed.

I don't think it's a problem with JDBC drivers.

One bug fix should be available in the next version of the DM.

  • By using the Service Push SQL Server data push?

    Hello

We will implement a Blackberry, a Blackberry application that retrieves data from a SQL Server data source. In fact, there will be a web application where users will enter into data (SQL Server) and the BlackBerry user should see the data at the end of each day's work with his BB app on the go. I suppose we must apply a solution of "push technology". The problem is that we do not have a BES. Is it possible to implement a solution without BES, using 'Push the Service'?

    Best regards

    burakk

No problem. Registration for BIS Eval, test your push button and then you can put in production. Be aware however that PUSH does not work in the simulator of debugging can be a bit of a pain...

Your structured Types and the Types of Collection are part of your model, so I expect not to be affected by copying types.xml.

  • DataModeler: import of the data dictionary table comments

Hi, I begin barely using SQL DataModeler and seems to have a problem with regard to the comments of reverse engineering table.

When you use Import > data dictionary, I have no trouble importing column comments, but the comment table always seem to come up empty. I see no obvious option for y understood/off table/column comments so am puzzled as to why column comments import very well but the comments in the table are not (Yes, the tables, I'm importing have comments on the tables and columns).

What Miss me? Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Andy,.

There is no option for this. They should be included, but unfortunately there is a bug and not included.

  • Peformance Gain for a different drive for the SQL Server data and log (VM) file?

    Hello

It is suggested to separate SQL Server 2012 data and log files in different drive for VM.  Is there a performance gain if two of them resided in the same logical (Partition VMDK) unit number?  OR should they (different dives) in different LUNS (Partition VMDK)?

    Thank you

The General mantra in the physical world goes as follows:

For optimal performance, you need to separate logs and database of transactions on different physical disks (e.g. disks) stacks.

This general concept applies naturally agnostically to virtual workloads as well. It essentially translates to:

For performance, you should put the files of database transactions on various resident on different LUNS VMDK or use separate RDM. You should also use a separate vSCSI controller to each VMDK/RDM as the controller has its own IO queue.

There is a point more important which is often neglected in the physical and virtual world in particular:

Ideally, you should make sure that your physical LUN for logs and DB are not a group of common disk same stacks of physical disks. This violates the general concept above.

    My computer:

    -CD-ROM/DVD-ROM device.

Win 7 has a problem when SQL Server 2014 creates the database on CD-ROM/DVD-ROM device file.

I'm asking in the forum of SQL Server and the response is ", this question could related to the driver for your drive as SQL Server DeviceIoControl calls during the creation and opening of any data file or journal. Reference: operating system error 1 (function Incorrect.) met.

My question: why CD-ROM/DVD-ROM device driver support SQL Server 2014?

And how to solve the problem?

    My driver as follows:

    Your words:

"Win 7 have a problem when SQL Server 2014 creates the database on CD-ROM/DVD-ROM device file. .

I ask in the forum for SQL Server and the response is " " If this problem could be linked to the pilot of your drive as SQL Server DeviceIoControl calls When you create and open any file of data or log. • Gateway 12 c for ODBC or SQL Server dates

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the dates when selecting a database of SQL Server 2008 R2 via OGW 12 c.

The two dg4odbc and dg4msql returns data all in Oracle Gateway 11 g R2 works fine! on the same machines with the same configurations.

    Oracle database version is 10.2.0.4 x 64 on windows 2008 r2

    Thank you.

Gateway Windows seems to behave here a little different from the Linux gateway, but I am sure that now you've hit these two related defects 17434002 /17434137.

ONL Linux normally, you get the error ORA-28528 rather bad content of the message. Windows seems to behave here a little different. But the track and also out of desc as well as the error message when switch to TANK indicate you touch the same question.

Unfortunately it is currently not yet a fix available. Better would be to file a service request and please ask to get assigned to me (kgronau). I will then connect to the bugs and I can then inform you once the problem is resolved.

  • Import of the data dictionary trigger definitions

Hi I just installed Oracle SQL datamodeler and try to import the schema definition. It import all the elements (tables, views, stored procedures, functions and so) except trigger
    Please notify

    Best regards
    Virgil

    Hi, Virgil,.

Triggers associated with Tables or views must be imported. If you expand the node of the Table or view in the part of the physical model of the browser tree relevant, you should find the triggers there.

System triggers are not currently imported.

Note that there is a forum specifically for the SQL Developer Data Modeler: SQL Developer Data Modeler

  • Import SQL Developer data change column entire varchar data type

    Hi all

May I ask, how do to change all the data type of columns using a single click? I want to import a csv file that has more columns then 200. When I use SQL Developer to impoprt it to the Oracle database, there is the possibility to change the data type of the columns, but it is posibble only on a column-by-column. How can I do this with just a click of mouse? In the csv file, there are only numbers, not alphabetic or other characters. But SQL Developer sets automaticully VarChar for all columns when importing the csv file. And if the data type of the columns is of type varChar, the data mining model produced only 10% of predictive confidence. If the columns integer (number), the trust is more than 80%. I use about 50 tables, and each table has more than 200 columns, so changing the data type of columns by a something inhuman is ::(((
I saved the csv as xlsx file, but when I tried to import it with SQL Developer, I chose this xlsx and Developer SQL closed the import window. If I can't import xlsx...

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you!!!

You can send the generated here script? I just want to see the DDL Create of the Table and some examples of INSERT statements.

To remove the rows in the Table, you can run this in the worksheet:

    DELETE

    ;
    COMMIT;

You can run the Create Table DDL (skip all INSERT queries) to create the table. Then, use the Import Wizard to import data in this table (column all should have correct data types). In the Import Wizard, you can specify the Table to import the data.

  • synchronize data dictionary with the model does not generate the DDL

    Hello

I followed the instruction from the link below

Re-engineering of your database by using the Data Modeler 3.1

    Here's what I did.

    1. the tables imported using import-> MS SQL 2012 data dictionary (used jDTS 1.3.1)

    2. Add new column to one of the imported tables of the Data Modeler

    3. click on synchronize data dictionary button

    4. compare the contextual model poster! indicating there is gap, but the DOF Preview button is disabled.

Would you advise me what I got wrong?

  • Comparing the data set of Oracle database local to the Remote SQL Server database

    Hello

I have a table in an Oracle database that is gradually being updated with a table in SQL server through the database link. There is a field "Date of creation" in the table in SQL server that I used to find the newly created records and shoot and insert them into the local table to the Oracle database.

Now the question is the documents/data in the SQL server remote can be deleted as well and I see a lot of files are already deleted and I couldn't find a way to capture the information of deleted data to remove from my local table.

    I tried

    SELECT id local_table

    where there is no

    (select * (or 1))

    of remote_table@database_link

    where remote_table.id = local_table.id).

And I tried to replace not exist with no so.

The problem is that the query is too slow with link of database for IN/NOT EXISTS clause NO. So, I'm trying to find an effective way to capture the lines deleted in the remote to remove as a result of my local table table.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64 bit

    Thank you

    Chrystelle

    It is perhaps easier

    Select pk / * or sustitutive key * / from Oracle.tba

    less

    Select pk / * or sustitutive key * / from SQLSERVER.tab

This returns the rows that exist in Oracle but not in SQL SERVER-> delteted lines in SQL Server.

Another way is to create a trigger to remove in sqlserver and track in a table delete lines.
