Migration for PlayBook to BB10... Guide?

I decided to bite the bullet and start working on porting my app to BB10. Considering that compiled with the Tablet 2.0 SDK, it works perfectly on my Dev Alpha device, it seems a bit discouraging, how many errors Flash Builder now shows me that I went to 3.0 (BB10) SDK.

Is it perhaps a sort of list where you can look for alternatives recommended for all abandoned Classes? (The AS3 reference always had this 'Migration' category at the bottom of the list of packages where you could look to the top of old AS2 orders--something like that anywhere?)

In fact, I realized that I can do all the errors disappear by adding some .swc of tablet-sdk - 2.0 which do not exist in 3.0 for the path of construction, Yes!. But I don't really know what I'm doing -which is maybe something 'bad '? as in the bad practice? This means that my application will stop working without warning when RIM pulls support for these old .swc (and of course I forgot for a long time that I compiled in...)?

Sorry - I guess that these are the most fundamental programming than real issues of AIR, but advice would be welcome!

Thank you

Anna

My app: Get set - get up!   Get ready for the revolution snooze.

If you do not need features with the 3.0 SDK, you can stick with 2.0 if you prefer. Which works very well on BB10. I wouldn't mix the SDK versions in a single application - that's bound to cause a problem unless you know exactly what you are doing.

First, I would check the release notes for 3.0 beta 3:

https://developer.BlackBerry.com/air/documentation/BB10/bb10_air_sdk_rn_3.0beta_2010852_11.html

I don't know if these release also notes cover 3 Beta 2 SDK and beta 1 and can't seem to find the notes version online more... Maybe someone paid them to the folder?

I would also check session of Julian Dolce (JAM64) of BBJam:

http://hosting.desire2learncapture.com/rim/1/watch/62.aspx

If you're still having problems, try searching this forum Board. Several issues have already been covered. Most are just classes that have moved, been renamed or need a .swc or .ane to be included.

Note that SDK v3 apps won't work on PlayBook, for now, until the PB runs also BB10. You need to separate the projects in FB, or by advanced magic with conditional sets and build scripts.

  • Releases of question on 2 separate, one for Playbook and the other for BB10

    Hello

At the moment we have an application that is currently enabled for BB10 and Playbook. However, we've recently re-written the application take over much better phone interface, and we would like to submit a version that is not specific to BB10 and have a separate for Playbook version.

What I hope we can do is just uncheck the BB10 of the current version and let the Playbook checked, then submit a new version with only selected BB10. However, I wasn't sure if this overwrite the version of the Playbook and pull it store since the release "more recent" doesn't have the verified Playbook. Is it possible to have these 2 releases by-side, but be in the same "application"?

    Thank you
    Jake

It works as you expect it. In fact you don't have to uncheck the BB10 phones on the old version.

  • Flash Builder 4.7, Flex 4.9.1 and AIR 3.4 for Playbook?

PlayBook (and BB10) currently only supports AIR 3.1.

  • Icons for a universal BB10 + PB app?

    Hello

I am creating a 'universal' application works on devices BB10 and the PlayBook. I tested it on both devices and everything works perfectly - except the icon.

I use the PlayBook SDK and the icon of 86 x 86 for the PlayBook. So, my icon seems too small on the screen BB10. It should be 114 x 114.

How can I include the two icons (86 x 86 and 114 x 114) in my sidebar file and show the correct icon depending on whether the user load my app on a PlayBook or BB10 device. I tell myself that there must be a way. I tried just putting two icons in the list of files that get packed into a bar file, but it didn't work. Thanks in advance!

    Damian

I'd do it in two steps. Each file becomes specified to the correct version of device and operating system min. When you specify the right device and OS for the file BAR min, then this device will only get BAR file.

Purchases are related to the application and the user BBID. They'll pay only once. You will need to create a new product in the portal provider (with a different application id), in order to make them pay twice.

  • Submit for playbook

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Hi downloaded my file with the + button under the heading of liberation, it was a generation with the SDK for QNX 10.0.0 Marmalade + and now, I would like to submit a version for the playbook 2.1 +. How should I present this new version of the same game.

Also he accepted select me read book when I chose QNX 10 +, there are rules with 10 OS version? There is only 1 OS? Or I have to uncheck the playbook is Marmalade requires two separate playbook and blackberry 10 buildings.

Sorry if my question is confusing, I'm confused myself.

I didn't thing BB10 OS is available for playbook yet, I think that you will need to download 2 separate releases, one for BB10 and one for the playbook.

  • No button back for Playbook and Z10

My request of WebWorks HTML5 for Playbook and Z10 occasionally open external web pages and at least in the Playbook there no back button during the display of the external web pages. How can I add a "back" button? I spent a few hours looking for solutions, without success. I looked at bbUI.js, but it seems not able to add a "back button" while looking at an external pages - unless I'm mistaken.

    Any suggestions?

Bb10, your solution is childBrowser: https://github.com/blackberry/BB10-WebWorks-Samples/tree/master/childBrowser

  • "slog2info" will work for Playbook

    Hello

I used 'slog2info' see debug information for BB10. But when installed OS Playbook 2.1.0 NDK, I can't use the same way to see debugging information. The erros of SSH:

    $ slog2info
sh: slog2info: cannot execute - No such file or directory

What is a unique problem for me or a general problem for everyone? Thank you.

The PlayBook would not have it yet, BB10 only. If you try to use the same code base on both platforms (for now, until the arrival on the PlayBook of BB10) you probably need to write yourself an extra layer to abstract the differences.

  • QT 5 alpha/beta for PlayBook anyone?

Is this someone is built with the success of the alpha/beta 5 Qt for PlayBook Windows libs?

Could not generate the project. Even manually pointing to include files, for the simple application of QWidget, does not load QApplicaton. I followed this guide http://qt-project.org/wiki/Building_and_Deploying_Qt_Applications_to_the_Playbook but without success.

    Edit:

Fixed, just added QT += widgets for .pro file and compiles well.

  • Documentation for config.xml for playbook

    Hey RIM,.

When you're you going to get out of the documentation for the file config.xml... all that right with a graphical interface for us in the web plugin eclipse...

I don't expect the same for the playbook, but really I don't know what should be the content of this file... No documentation would be not good (or if someone could tell me that would be great).

Right now, I'm just coding in the dark... I do a little better comments about what I think should be allowed in the XML (such as adding other areas...)

Here's the documentation you request: technical - grade Configuration Document .

This document is in the section BlackBerry WebWorks Developer Guides Web site.

Note: there is at least an inconsistency with the supported elements.  The element ' rim: transitionEffect "is not supported by the SDK WebWorks for PlayBook (but is for the Smartphone SDK).  I have a pending request with our documentation team to provide details on the other gap analysis.

  • Is equivalent of getBatteryLevel() for Playbook?

I can see for Playbook there are callbacks that can be saved for when the battery level changes, but how to find the initial value of the battery level?

On the BB handhelds, it seems to be a simple API DeviceInfo.getBatteryLevel ().  Something similar for Playbook?

The reminder would be invoked with the current level of the battery as a parameter when you call getBatteryLevel and later, when the battery level is changed.

That's exactly what you up if I understand you.
