migration of bookmarks
Is there an easy way to migrate my bookmarks from one device to another? Sorry if this question was asked before thank you for your help!
Firefox Sync will transfer the bookmarks, history and passwords. You will need to reinstall the extensions.

Migration of bookmark for multiple users
Greetings:
I'm trying to copy 500 + old computers to windows 7 to new user profiles. One thing that does not play well, it is Firefox bookmarks. When a profile is copied, Firefox is running, and it has none of the previous profile bookmarks. I think the problem is in how Firefox handles its bookmarks and have not found a way to transfer them to. Comments are welcome.
Kind regards
CaffeinatedBloodOther data get properly copied?
Copy of the places.sqlite file should be enough get the bookmarks.
Note that you must copy the file profiles.ini so because otherwise Firefox will not find this profile.

How to migrate bookmarks Firefox in Windows XP to Windows 8?
I am a new hand with Windows 8 and who need instructions step-by-step on how to migrate bookmarks Firefox in Windows XP to Windows 8. I had tried a few suggestions that I found on the internet, by copying the profile of XP folder in 8. The result was that Firefox cannot open because he couldn't find profiles, and I had to uninstall and reinstall Firefox on my Windows 8 to use Firefox.
To keep your tags on bookmarks, use the type .json
or for use universal (other browsers that do not support the tags), export without tags

We bought a new laptop to Windows 8. I used Windows Easy Transfer to transfer data from the old laptop to the new laptop. Now, my wife, saved bookmarks passwords and other custom settings do not appear on the new laptop.
I do not know if Windows Easy Transfer actually migrated my wife Firefox profile. Where is it stored on the new laptop?
How can I migrate manually the profile from the old computer to the new computer?
I don't know anything about Windows 8 but if you have Firefox installed and running there is a simple method to find your profile: let Firefox for you using the option of troubleshooting as explained in this article
I imagine that the profile of your wife should be in a similar situation to yours, but under a different username.
To migrate manually the profile overwrite just the default profile existing your wife in Windows 8 with the complete profile folder and files of XP. For more details on how to do and more general information please see:
Although I am unable to give you a direct answer to your question, I hope that will help the articles above, after back with how you're going.

How can I migrate bookmarks of Foxfire/PC to an iMac
I need to migrate the new iMac, I bought all my favorites in my current PC.
Hey steveftw,
I suggest that you use Firefox sync. This will allow you to sync all your books on all of your different Firefox instances. This article will give you all the information you need to market.
You can also watch Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file for backup or transfer bookmarks. This would allow to export the files on a computer and then import them on another.
Hope this helps!

Can I migrate bookmarks from my laptop?
Laptop computer has Firefox and now I have Firefox on my phone. Can I have the bookmarks moved from my laptop?
You must configure Firefox Sync. See the following article: How can I set up Sync on my computer?
But so far, you cannot directly import bookmarks from your phone to your laptop. -
Is it possible to recover my favorites to use Firefox without the old computer?
I don't remember my old user name or password, but my email address is the same.
If you have not used the synchronization and you do not have the computer (or less hard drive) has more better would have been to save bookmarks manually before swapping try it with a new iMac.
If you copy to your profile folder, then it would appear that the only way to recover your bookmarks to go on the old computer and retrieve your bookmarks. If you would use Sync, your bookmarks would have been stored on the servers of Mozilla Sync

Bookmarks imported into IE but only 1 file migrated
I tried to import my bookmarks from IE 8 following the process described. It seemed to work until I looked at the imported list and saw that only the first record of my many favorites is listed under imported IE Favorites. How can I get the rest of my files? I tried to do this several times. Thank you.
If there are problems with importing IE bookmarks in Firefox, then export favorites in Internet Explorer to a HTML file and import this file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
If you don't have the menu bar in Internet Explorer, and then right-click on the toolbar above to activate the menu bar.
- Export Favorites in Internet Explorer to a file (bookmarks.html) HTML:
File > import and export - Import HTML file in Firefox:
Bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > import bookmarks HTML
See "Import from another browser" and "import from file":
- Export Favorites in Internet Explorer to a file (bookmarks.html) HTML:

My bookmark toolbar icons are constantly changing, and it was made worse lately. Gmail appeared to be the first, but now much more change. I remove titles for them so I can put many of them on the toolbar, so it is really important. After that I click on one of these stray icons, they will sometimes recover, in Gmail, for example, after signing in. Other times, that they do not.
Try to restore with this extension:

Had an accident and was not able to migrate bookmarks. Now can not find them.
Had a computer failure. Must get a new one. Went from XP to Win7. Because I didn't know he was going to crash, I obviously did not "Save" my favorites to HTML (the last time that I was earlier). On my new unit I FF4 beta and try to restore the old bookmarks. I joined and have direct access to my old drive that contains all the information old but could not find an HTML element that has the latest bookmarks before the crash. I'm SOL?
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
"Application Data" in XP/Win2K and "AppData" in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_foldersGo to: Control Panel > Folder Options > "View" tab > under "Hidden files and folders", select "Show hidden files and folders".
You can uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" to see all file extensions.- XP: C:\Documents and Settings\ < user > < profile > \Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.
- Vista/Windows 7: C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.

On my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit system, I met worse problems I've had with Firefox (all versions, I tried the oldest and the newest, who currently use 37). One day, I rebooted by computer, and when I started Firefox, it was completely broken. He was not able to load my favorites, TabGroupsManager could not load my recorded session and it crashed when I tried to search Google or visit several Web sites. I couldn't fix it and migrate Pale Moon until exactly the same thing happened there. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled, but now whenever I open it, it's as if it was just installed - no profile information, no Add-ons, no Favorites, absolutely nothing. Application data HAVE folders for profiles that have been opened every time - Firefox does not access and does not recognize that they exist.
I'm totally lost and at the end of my mind. None of the aid or other sites have been any help at all. The problem is exclusive to a single computer - two other computers I've used do not have this problem at all. Help, please!
(Additional note: when I met the first problems of Pale Moon, it gave me an error that it could not access the bookmarks and history because another application has their use.) This error never appeared in Firefox, but given identical patterns of problems and the fact that the pale Moon is based on Firefox, I think it might be relevant).
Well, I think that the problem at least explained that now and patched up right now. I went to a COMPUTER specialist at work and after work things have stabilized.
The computer I'm is a Department that usually connects to a server. The profile data is actually stored via this server, and when I lived the problems, I was at home and that it was not connected to the server said. Normally it is supposed to be a current synchronization that stores things like that to a task on my computer - but for some reason what not really, or at least not properly. That's why I couldn't find a profile.ini file - it was only stored in a place that could not access the computer. After getting to work and do a few random files and other reading, Firefox and Pale Moon are fully functional again, and I can't find the files profile.ini appropriate on the server (they are not yet on my computer, and I don't know how to read locally).
The best solution to the problems 'offline' we had was through a VPN so that I always have access to the server. I would like to get the files on my computer so that I wouldn't have to worry about this, but it's a question that needs to be addressed separately.
Thanks to Seraph for their help in this confusing issue. I have an idea of what to look for if something like this happens again.
