Migration of data from Thunderbird problems

Hello

I'm migrating to a new computer. I read the support pages that describe how to migrate a profile Thunderbird from one computer to the other. However, I'm having trouble. After that I copied my profile data to the new location, Thunderbird can see my account information (email address, the server settings, etc.), but it does not show the files and electronic mail that were in my old PC. I am sure that I saved the correct data. If anyone has encountered this before? Any ideas?

Thank you
Greg

Thanks for the suggestion Gnospen. It appeared that everything was there, but it is possible that something in my backup was corrupted. I copied everything from the computer source again, and it works now. I'm not sure what it was, but everything seems to be good now. Thanks again!

  • Maintaining the integrity of the data so that the migration of data from different environment

    Hello

    In Oracle 11r2,.

We work in an environment were we have need to migrate data from one environment to the other.

The data is stored in 5 tables that has data integrity constraints (foreign keys).

They use keys of substitution for the primary key.

These keys are populated by sequences.

    Export is not a problem.

    Importing is.

The challenge is that surrogate keys (sequence numbers) may have already been used in the new environment.

Thus, we would need assign new surrogate keys of the sequence for the imported data without compromising the integrity of the data in the parent-child relationships.

We need the integrity of the data in this process.

We need the process to be fast.

We are looking for advice if data pump might solve our problem or if a script internal or a mixture of both is required.

Perhaps other tools exist to achieve this goal.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Yan Pachebat

It would be instead of data pump.  11g Release 2 added the function REMAP_DATA, which will allow you to incorporate something like this into a data pump process.  It was not available at the time I did my scripts 11.1.

  • Migration of data from XE to 11 GB

    Hello
I was running application on XE, which, thanks to the huge amount of downloads, it grows very quickly, and he started all of a sudden strange behavior when downloading the file. It would display error as "the requested URL /apex/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server" on the download of files.

I discovered that I am about to the limit of 4 GB of XE, and I hope that it is the cause of the problem. So now I install 11g.

My question is: what would be the smartest way to move data from one database to another. Or, more precisely put, how do to move files downloaded, how can I move the WWV_FLOW_FILE_OBJECTS?

    Hello

In this case, I'd probably go just an upgrade of database (that is, upgrade your instance of XE directly with 11g) instead of a migration (unless you want to run both simultaneously, that from your description it doesn't sound like it).

Take a look at the upgrade of XE - guide

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B25329_01/doc/server.102/b32391/TOC.htm

(He talks specifically about the upgrade to 10.2.0.3, but of course, later versions would be equally valid (but check metalink for any "quirks" upgrade between versions).

In addition to the suggestion of Tony of a database link, I'd also get for Datapump which is absolutely superb for schema migration etc. between instances.

    Hope this helps,

    John.

  • Migration of data from the old platform to the new primary database, need advice.

I have physical standby facility and everything works now.

Next weekend, we will do the actual migration of the old platform to the new environment.

I have several issues of concern.

Migration will go to the primary database. I'll have to remove patterns and inside expdp dmp.

While I do all those, what data base waiting? should I disable it again apply?

What other concerns and precautions I need to take before I have to remove all data from primary school and do a migration?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello;

My main concern would be the FRA (assuming you use it).

By doing all that generates a ton of archives, you have to worry about the space on both sides.

I would consider increasing my FRA on both sides.

I would not disable the recovery, but I look very close and be willing to adjust my space as needed.

As long as you don't miss space you should be fine. I had once a backup log files more than 250, and it took about 15 minutes to catch up.

Have a little prepared scripts in advance if you can increase the space or delete archive applied and it should be fine.

I also opened at least two terminals on the primary and Standby. Everyone look at space and the other to execute all what you need to adjust the space.

The rest is common sense, first do the smaller drawing if you have an idea what to expect. Decaying etc. as much as possible.

    Best regards

  • Migration of data from a table to another table

have a table1 that includes the existing data in the format.

    ~@!%~X1~@!%~Y1 in three different coulmns

creates a new empty table and the need to migrate the data above, which is present in 3 different columns in a column in the new table, as shown in the example below.

table 1 existing data (| separator of columns for formatting)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ID name1 | Name2. Name3
    123 ~@!%~X1~@!%~Y1 | ~@!%~X2~@!%~Y2 | ~@!%~X3~@!%~Y3
    234 ~@!%~X4~@!%~Y4 | ~@!%~X5~@!%~Y5 | ~@!%~X6~@!%~Y6
    456 ~@!%~X7~@!%~Y7 | ~@!%~X8~@!%~Y8 |     ~@!%~X9~@!%~Y9

Table 2, which will initially be empty and after migration, it should look as follows.

    ID name1
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    123 ~@!%~X1~@!%~Y1 & & ~@!%~X2~@!%~Y2 & & ~@!%~X2~@!%~Y2
    234 ~@!%~X4~@!%~Y4 & & ~@!%~X5~@!%~Y5 & & ~@!%~X6~@!%~Y6
    456 ~@!%~X7~@!%~Y7 & & ~@!%~X7~@!%~Y7 & & ~@!%~X7~@!%~Y7

as shown in the example above

    Name1 column has ~@!%~X1~@!%~Y1
    Column name2 has ~@!%~X2~@!%~Y2
    Name3 column has ~@!%~X3~@!%~Y3

Once the data is migrating from table 1 for id - 123 looks like below, before joining data from 3 tables, I need apopend & & for each for the token I read of the tabl1 of name1 to end ii should be added "& &" also when I read the name2 I add "& &" at the end of the string before the concatination.

Here's the sample that deals with data for id - 123 with & & (only & & other symbols are part of the data)

    ~@!%~X1~@!%~Y1 & & ~@!%~X2~@!%~Y2 & & ~@!%~X2~@!%~Y2

  • Migration of data from records on Win2K8 cluster to a new SAN SAN

I hope that someone here might have a clear answer to my question. We are currently working on a project to migrate all the data of a former SAN that stores our info Win2K8 Cluster (Quorum, MSDTC and SQL DBs) to a new SAN. I know that databases SQL, the plan is to simply detach the DBs with in SQL, stop SQL services, move the DBs from the old drive to the new location and then reconnect, we intend to reuse the drive letter, so that there will be real problems.

What I'm having a hard time trying to figure out, is how to move successfully the readers of the page Web MSDTC and Quorum, would I simply create a new set and removing the current Quorum and MSDTC leads or is there a way to move the data on the page Web MSDTC and the Quorum of the current location reuse the old drive letters and stored it on the new San without having to change any configuration or break the cluster.

All clearification would be much help.

  • Migration of data from LMS 3.0.1 (SA) 3.1 (Master)

    Hi all

I have a data migration to perform. I was wondering if someone did, or had problems with (standalone) 3.0.1 to 3.1 migration (master).

    See you soon

    David

It should work perfectly. However, problems can still the case. After migration, the DCR mode will be set to return to standalone as the dcr.ini will be restored from the backup. You must return to master. In fact, I recommend that opt-out of all the slaves of the master prior to the migration.

  • moving data from Thunderbird to a new computer did not work - help, please!

I - I hope! -followed all instructions Support of Thunderbird on moving a profile from one computer to another with a different OS (save a copy of the profile of the first computer file, download and install TB on the new computer, find the 'Profile' folder and then either paste the contents of the old profile file in the new profile file [thus overwrite the latter]) then open TB... but it didn't work.

I then tried the same thing, but with a slightly different method: I copied the name of the new profile file, he has given the profile of the old computer file, then renamed the new file profile and pasted the old profile file - now with the new designation - in the new directory... which also did not work.

I spent a few hours trying to get this to work and am almost to the point of giving up on tuberculosis as an e-mail.

    Any help would be welcome!

    Hi, Matt;

Thank you for your continued support - I appreciate it!

Yesterday, I downloaded the command-line tool dbx to eml unless you had kindly recommended (at http://code.google.com/p/undbx/ ), and, as I had supposed, its function is to do what OE itself can only do by email - that is, convert a .dbx .eml format - but do it by folder, records forever, which is much more elegant.

The tool dbx to eml was very easy to download and use, and I could ask him to convert all my files at once (which is equivalent to more than 50 records and hundreds of emails). He did a great job, and I was able to identify the location of the output directory that results anywhere I wanted.

Because the tool dbx to eml records records converted to any specified location, one can then import them into Thunderbird Thunderbird either on the same or another computer.

I wanted to spend all my email OE to a new computer (which involves a passage from XP to Windows 7), and, in my case, it was easy to do because I have two computers connected by a network (intranet) data drives: after you convert all the OE dbx eml files, I went to my new computer to Thunderbird instance and , using the add-on for Thunderbird Import-ExportTools (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/), I simply imported saved eml files, one at a time. It has worked flawlessly.

In a situation in which two computers were not connected by a network, we could easily save the eml on a USB output directory and have computer of the new Thunderbird import eml from this location.

I would also add that this dbx to eml command-line tool is supposed to also function as a current backup utility: it begs for find and convert new files later in OE, and it only will not do, but is also their corresponding folders in the original output folder, if they exist from a previous operation.

I still have to import all my newly created on my Windows 7 Thunderbird eml files, but - so far - it seems like it should work smoothly.

Based on the different methods I did research - and the few that I actually tried - has my reviews, so far, is that using the tool of command line without dbx-to-eml, at http://code.google.com/p/undbx/ , is the way simpler and more reliable to move files from email Outlook Express - within their corresponding e-mail folders - to Thunderbird , either the same or different computers.

It would be nice if Mozilla could try this method for themselves, and - if they are to find it as infallible, as I - promote this as one of the first methods to use to move electronic mail Outlook Express to Thunderbird. It others will save a lot of time and frustration.

Matt - your kind and generous support made it happen: thanks!

You will need the Migrator to guide through the process, are the ACS a devices or is it currently run on windows?

Here is a link to help you get started-

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_secure_access_control_system/5.3/user/guide/migrate.html

Here are the steps that you will need:

You will need a migration machine (windows server that is running the same version and patch your current FAC).

Using the traction of link above the migration file (don't use DRC use VNC, it won't work this way)

You will follow the guide above to activate the interface of migration of the ACS through the CLI.

The old TC is filled up to 1.99 TB, and I imagine that it would take a long period of time to archive and copy all of this info, but the process is already underway for more than 24 hours, and it always shows 1 day 0:31:59 is this normal? Do I have to cancel and try another method?

Shared experiences or advice will be appreciated.

    See you soon!

BTW, I don't like the new layout of this post!

Unfortunately, these can take a long time. I suggest that you let it run for at least 24 hours and then see where is the check-in process. So again, it doesn't show much progress later, let know us and we can provide you with possible options.
