  • The EBS R12 upgrade and solaris to linux in a one-way migration?

Hi all, first post on this forum so bear with me.

I plan on spending 11.5.10.2 Solaris (sparc) 64-bit EBS EBS R12 on RHEL 5 x 86-64 a and would like to know if I can make in a shot that is the migration and upgrade in one step or I need to go to R12 first and then migrate first and then upgrade or migrate.

I understand the stages of migration and upgrade, but have not seen any documentation to support on the combination of them, someone does that?

    Thanks in advance
    Jeremy

    Hello

You can upgrade the application in the Solaris to R12 box then migrate the R12 to Linux application (since your target OS is 64-bit Linux, please note that you can not migrate the 11i application as 64-bit operating system is accredited as a layer of database for the Oracle 11i applications only).

To install R12 11i, please see:

  • Identification information of the user of Linux for backup

Does anyone have suggestions/advice on the creation of the user for backups on Linux using AppAssure machine?

Unfortunately the previously "verified the answer" has only half of the answer: it shows how to add a user, but the customer AppAssure also has a group that the credentials of that user MUST BE a PART of otherwise when you try to change your username to talk with her on the servers AppAssure, for example if you change your admin or AppAssure username for any reason any It will reject constantly as a name of user and password error. To check if your new user name exists on the client Linux, log in there and make a sh/etc/passwd to see if it is already there in the list of users. If this isn't the case, add with the command 'NouveauNomUtilisateur' useradd as Anton K said. Then set the password for this user by typing passwd "newuserrname" and it by tapping twice and he will confirm that the token has changed (in CentOS anyway). Trying to connect from the AppAssure server will still get error log until what you add to the Group appassure however. Note: when you first install AppAssure it prompts you for the user accounts that you want to run it. This is how you can change that any time thereafter (to save removing and then reinstalling the AppAssure client s/w and a production server restart). Use a text editor vim and vim/etc/Group and look to the bottom of the list for the group 'appassure. If your new user name is not on this line you will need to set the mode insertion (I) and add the NouveauNomUtilisateur (no space) followed by comma and make the Esc and: wq to write the changes and exit stage. However, it still won't let you connect from AppAssure Server UNTIL you stop and restart the service of AppAssure. This typing stop appassure-service agent and then start appassure-agent. Note: You can also access this service any time, that you aren't sure typing appassure-agent service state. After the new user name is added AND the new user name is added to the Group appassure AND appassure-agent service is restarted, you will find that you can now connect the AppAssure server on the client using the new user name. :)

If the endianesses are the same, you can go for a transport database, otherwise transport tablespace:

  • Access to the content protectred URIs on Solaris (sparcv9) with WLS 10.3.5 and Apache2

I had begun to ask questions about it on another thread, but since I had listed this one as replied and which is different from the original question on this thread... I felt it is better to create its own thread.

Description of the problem: Environment Details:
    -Server1 - 64-bit Intel RHEL5
Fusion Middleware Identity Management - 11.1.1.2
    WLS 10.3.2
    DOHAD, OID, OVD
    DB 10.2.0.4

    -2 32-bit Intel RHEL5 Server
    OAM 10.1.4.3
    OHS 11.1.1.2

-Server 3 64-bit SparcV9 Webhost - app deployed as protected uri
    WLS 10.3.5
    Apache2
    WebGate 10.1.4.3

We believe that we have completed everything regarding the possibility of including a solaris host in our list of hosts associated with OAM. We have installed some hosters with XP and RHEL5.6 successfully using SST 11.1.1.2. It is the first time the creation of a Web host on Sparc. The webgate has been created and the software installed, the deployed app protected, etc... Everything that we did for Linux and XP in the past we did for this Sparc host. The only differences are the SUN OS, Apache2 and WLS 10.3.5. To me, that those are all acceptable for these Oracle products and versions.

When we try to access the Sparc protected URI... nothing happens. The browser remains empty... the url does not change to display the login.html oamsso (as the other do installs)... nothing is returned... no errors, no comments... just a browser empty.

Make an apachectl-l I get the following:

    Compiled in modules:
    Core.c
    prefork.c
    http_core.c
    mod_so.c

    Mod_so.c is included.

If I go directly to the protected through 7001 instead of the 8890 - uri the httpd.conf of port is configured to listen on - the page is displayed. If I open the oamsso/login.html using 8890... It displays. But if I use 8890 to make appear the uri protected... as described above nothing displays.

Another thing, since the Sparc host is "headless" - as described by our SysAdmin... not access directly via the console of Sun and no gui via the sun host access since there is no Sun console just the server - we need access to the graphical interface via a browser on the same network. The browser is actually on the OAM host.

Of apache2 error_log on SUN host:

I believe that apache is currently configured properly at this point, but cannot understand what Miss them us.

I would say that OAM does support Apache (depending on the version of Apache certified and BONES). However, there are so many distributions out there and it can be configured with countless options, be compiled with a number of different compilers and include a number of modules that compatibility issues is to ask. Distribution of Solaris - also Oracle - is a concrete example. I also experienced problems with the version of Apache comes with some versions of Linux (for different reasons than the Solaris bundle) for which the simplest solution has also to download and compile from source. I guess that's the reason of what has told you about the support of generic Apache, if of course, I don't know the context.

  • From the WEST on Solaris SPARC

    Hello

Our group has a duty to improve a component that connects to Oracle DB.
The component is written in C++, so it should be WESTERN.
The component is supposed to work on Solaris SPARC, x 86 and Linux.

At first glance, the OCCI page does not seem to have a downloadable API library for Sparc
Or any version of Solaris also. Is this correct?
    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/occidownloads-083553.html

However, the instant client page does not seem to have downloadable for Solaris Sparc and x 86.
But I don't know if that's what I should start with.
I see that there are a few example OCCI programs I can use, but I have absolutely no idea how to compile and use them.

Y at - it a page that explains how to start with SACCO on Sparc?

    Thank you
    -Amol

The instant client download will probably contain libraries and header files you need to compile and link the OCCI applications. It must contain the header files, libraries and jar files for odbc, oci, occi, pro * C and other interfaces.

    Hello community!

It's my first time here in the MOC, I'll wait for you can help me.

We strive to migrate to Web ADI ADI. Currently, we are in an analysis and test initial stage, so we have to show the feasibility of a migration.

As a first step, our goal is to go and live with integrity between Web ADI and Integrator GL & f models.

Our version of the EBS product is R11.5.10.2. Our operating system is Windows 7 with IE 8 and we are using MS Office 2013 32bits.

  • Why a transportable tablespace for the migration of the platform in the same endian format?

    RDBMS version: 10.2.0.4

We intend to migrate our database to another platform. The two platforms are in BIG endian format. Search on Google, I came across the following link

In this IBM paper, they migrate to AIX 6 of 5.9 on Solaris (SPARC). Both are BIG endian format. Since both are the same size endian can they use TRANSPORTABLE database? Why use RMAN COVERT DATAFILE (Transportable tablespace)?

they use portable database - that they do not import data to the dictionary, not creating users--rather than use data conversion, they used convert datafile to avoid to convert all the data files (you will need to convert only cancel + system tablespace)-there are MOS Note: avoid Conversion Datafile during the transportable database [732053.1 ID].

    Basic steps to convert database:
    1. check the prerequisites
    2. identify the directories and external files with DBMS_TDB. CHECK_EXTERNAL.
    3. (coherent) stop and restart the database source in READ ONLY mode.
    4. use DBMS_TDB. CHECK_DB to ensure that the database is ready to be transported.
    5. run RMAN convert database command.
6 copy the files converted into the target database. Note that this implies that you will need 2 x the storage on the database source for converted files.
7 copy the parameter in the target database.
    8. set the configuration files as required (setting, listener.ora and tnsnames, etc.).
    9 start the new database!
