Client connections from linux on Solaris failing DB server

Hello

I get the following error when I connect from my client (Linux x86_64) with oracle client box 11.1 installed on my Solaris-SPARC DB server that has an installed oracle 11.2

ORA-12520: TNS:listener could not find Manager available for requested type
Server

I checked a lot of things online. They all said.
1 check your service Listner
The listening service seems to be very well because I ca connect using the listner of my box Solaris SPARC local as well as another Soalris SPARC box that has a client for oracle 10 g

2. the process boundary must have been saturated.
However, this isn't the case either I checked the view v$ resources limited and confirmed, I have also increased the number of processes

However when I do a TNSPING to my linux box using the name of the DB to Solaris, I am able to get a ping successfully.

I need your help to fix it.
I guess the Oracle client and DB server can be on a heterogeneous distributed system?

Kind regards
Valli

Hello
Remove the server = shared your tnsnames.ora line that's the problem.

See you soon,.

  • Router RV042 VPN Client access from Linux?

    Hello world!

I have a question for the creators and users of RV042.

Is there a way to communicate with a Linux box for access on a RV042 VPN client? I'm trying to do that and play with the settings, but I am not able to connect. I tried profiles in OpenVPN, OpenSwan, kVPNc and others. For the most part, my problem is that all of these software require too many parameters and other certificates that only types that you can create on a RV042 (.pem files).

Please let me know if any of you were able to connect to a Linux box for on a RV042 VPN.

Also, I would ask the CISCO/Linksys people why they provide only a Windows client for this option? "Small companies" are devices not windows based commercial devices!

    Thank you!

    Zoli

    Good day Zoli,

Unfortunately, there is not any Quickvpn client available for Linux and Macintosh which work together with the Small Business/Small Business routers Pro.

If I share your dismay that we do not formally use Quickvpn with all Linux distributions or any Mac OS, we have seen limited success with solutions that allow the use of third party VPN Clients when used in conjunction with our routers.

I'm curious to know whether or not you have explored Shrew Soft VPN Client (a simple Google search will yield results). I'm currently taking a look and to experiment a little bit on my end to see if there is anything we can get to work. If you can, please let me know what you use distribution, what version and a list of all customers third-party vpn that you used.

Personally, I'd love to see the development of a guide that we as support engineers to help all of our Linux-savvy customer.

    Thanks for your patience!

  • Migration from Linux to Solaris

    Hello

We are migrating an Oracle on Linux for Solaris 10.2.5 database step. Does anyone know a note of metalink I can refer please. All I need is a reference to a metalink note or formal Oracle document please. I'm well aware of the measures to be taken, but need formalized for my client.

    Thank you very much

If the endianesses are the same, you can go for a transport database, otherwise transport tablespace:

  • 867 EasyVPN server: Intermittent client connectivity

I have a rather peculiar question with a particular router, which I use as an EasyVPN server.

Customers have no problem to connect to the router. The Cisco VPN Client connects without problems and without fail every time.

    HOWEVER

This does not mean that the customer can obtain from the server, which is located behind the router, to which they connect.

They might be able to. They might not! It seems to vary randomly. Sometimes the client will connect, and the server will be accessible. Othertimes, the client will connect and it will not.

Now, to do some very preliminary tests, I am STILL able to ping the router LAN interface once the tunnel is up. However, I may or may not be able to ping the server.

Yesterday, for example, the connection came. I was able to ping an IP address on the local network of 192.168.0.9. The router is 192.168.0.15, I have, as mentioned above, ping without problem as well. However, the server, which is 192.168.0.1, was not accessible. After a couple disconnects / reconnect to the VPN client, I could ping 192.168.0.1 (and 192.168.0.15) and if I could get on the server without problem... However, I could no longer ping 192.168.0.9.

It almost feels "subnetty", but there is nothing defined on the router that should cause this problem I can say. Clients receive an IP address in the range of 10.10.10.5 to 10.10.10.15 on a looping with IP 10.10.10.1.

Specific no reason why the pool overlaps the closure? being a virtual interface should not make a difference on where the traffic is sent, the EFC plays sometimes strange games.

If it's not too much to ask, you can disable this loopack?

  • Client VPN blocks inbound connections from remote desktop?

I am running Vista x 64. To connect to a VPN Windows via the built-in VPN client works except that it seems that all incoming connections from the local network (including remote desktop) are blocked.

Is this a known problem or design? It is a problem for us because the computer that is running the VPN client is a virtual machine running in hyper-v, so accessible by users via remote desktop - only connection to the console of the hyper-v Server is not an option.

    Are there alternatives?

It sounds like the question to split the tunnel . On the VPN client you can enable/disable split tunneling. See this article for help with that.

  • Connect OBIEE client windows to Linux VM

    Hello

I installed SampleAppv506p running on a Virtual Machine on my windows PC. I want to connect to OBI in the virtual machine with windows OBIEE from my PC client.

I need to establish an ODBC connection for that, but do not succeed.

Try it with my PC telnet to the virtual machine also gives an error.

Telnet 10.0.2.15 9703 = > connection to 10.0.2.15... Could not open connection to the host, 7780 port: connection failed

I get the same error when you try: telnet 127.0.0.1 9703

I've already searched Google and tried/checked:

-> When I start the virtual machine and then I get the message "IP address of this machine is: 10.0.2.15."

    but in/etc/hosts, I have 2 lines:

    127.0.0.1 demo.us.oracle.com localhost locahost.localdomain demo

    10.0.2.15 demo.us.oracle.com demo

(I tried to comment on the first line, but it is added after the virtual machine restarts. Probably because I have 2 NICs - NAT & Bridged - in the virtual machine settings).

-> Running ifconfig in a telnet in VM window gives

    eth31: no adr inet

    eth32: addr:10.0.2.15 inet

    Lo: inet addr: 127.0.0.1

    -> in the VM: localhost:7001 / em

I see that BI server works with the following ports:

    -BI Services presentation: 9710

-Servers BI: 9703 (it is the one I should use for the ODBC connection?)

    -Planners BI: 9705

    -Controllers of BI Cluster: 9706

    -BI JavaHosts: 9810

-> I also turned off firewall in the virtual machine:

    service iptables stop

    chkconfig iptables off

10.0.2.x is the NAT address, then you won't be able to connect to the windows host.

I always run VMs with two NAT (for outgoing internet access to comments) and host-only (for guest conductor communications).

If you use bridged it relies on reviews (sampleapp) access the LAN that your host (windows) is activated, such as wifi. This works sometimes, but can add complication - where the advantage of the network invited only.

As gianni says won't play with the files/etc/hosts, will only end in tears

    I will try:

    1. Add a host only (or replace one bridged) network adapter. SampleApp to restart and you should get another IP address which you can connect from your windows host
    2. To the contrary/as well as the above, you can configure Port Forwarding on NAT for the OBIEE ports adapter (9703, 7780, etc.). This guide looks like a pretty good. Once it is set, you point your Windows machine (admintool, web browser, etc.) to the address localhost (Windows) and virtualbox port forwarding redirects the traffic (and answers) to the ports concerned on the guest VM.
Host only is certainly an easier place to start!

When you click on the console of a virtual machine, the server that hosts the vm responds back with its host name for your client to connect to.  Thus, the MKS console could not be connected to, and you could not see the virtual machine console, until you updated name resolution.  Given that the ESX host is back with a name, the customer could not resolve the name, if your client could not connect to the virtual computer mouse, keyboard, screen.  Hope that makes more sense.

    Hi all

Tried something out of the blue, that has worked.

I added the data_loading_user of the user to the group administrator (Group of BONES that created the wallet).

The I added the read permission to the group, so the permission on the files below were 640:

    # > chmod 640 cwallet.sso

  • Connecting to Linux Desktop

    Hello

I just got manual office pool of Linux upward and running based on the documentation provided and the youtube video that was posted a few weeks back. I'm under RHEL 6.6 with the last installed display software.

Initially, I connected via a browser web to the Linux desktop pool and able to connect without any problems.  My only complaint is that the office is not resized to the current size of the browser.  The current maximum resolution is 1280 x 768.

I also tried to connect from a Client display Windows and zero Tera2 customer but without success.  The error message I get is "this office does not support the requested protocol display.

    Any help is very appreciated.

Found the problem.  My http load balancer has been playing with the traffic between the client and the Linux host.  With the removed load balancing, I am able to connect to desktop Linux.

The new Linux VDI Protocol is therefore essentially VNC through websockets?  As this would explain why the load balancer is of no relevance since I set it up for websockets proxy traffic.

With the connection problem now "solved" (I wish I had the web load balancing and proxy in place), I now see a Linux desktop, but it has a maximum resolution of 1280 x 768.  Is there an option where I can get a higher resolution fullscreen?  If I run a VNC server session I can adjust the resolution to something that is greater than what is available in my Office VDI session.

  • How can I connect from a PC to another PC using LabVIEW

New IAM for LabVIEW and need help. How can I connect from a PC to another PC using LabVIEW. IE how to connect to the IP of the PC, another address using LabVIEW. Thanking you.

There are a few methods of network communications in LabVIEW.

Some of them, in no particular order:

    -Network shared Variables

    -Flow network

-Screw HTTP and Web Services client

    -TCP

    -UDP

(There are also libraries of pre-written e-mail based on UDP/TCP)

Which the decision to go for depends on many factors (e.g. should you read the last value of variables, flow without any loss of data, data dissemination or send messages/packets of data, etc.). I suggest take you a look at some examples in the finder of the example (help-> find examples...). If you are really new to LabVIEW, I suggest you take some free LabVIEW tutorials - take a look at the links at the bottom of the first post in this thread.

My printer was working with my laptop via a wireless network. Now I can't print or connect to my printer. I'm always connected to the network, but I can't connect to the printer. When I try to add it, I can see the name of the printer and I select it, but I get the error "Windows cannot connect to the printer" [operation failed with error 0x00000002]. I changed from Windows Vista to Windows 7, several months ago, but I don't know if that makes a difference (I think I used printer at least once since I change). Help, please.

    what worked for me:

Click on "services and applications", then click on 'services '.

  • Dial-up connection composed very well, but fails to connect to a virtual private network

Original title: Dial-up as Windows or stand alone client connection does not

Dial-up connection or as a windows dial-up or stand alone client does not.

    Problem.

I am trying to use a VPN service.

I did like Windows dial-up, as well as a stand-alone client. It has worked fine until recently.

    Here's what's happening.

    OS: Windows 7.

    1. start the Dial-Up connection. He began to compose...

    2. There is no response or the connection complete...

    3. try to unplug the unit, no response...

4 exit the application (stand-alone client) - she is dead or frozen.

    This slows down other applications.

Prevents the PC from closing. Sometimes it might close but takes normally after about 30 minutes...<10>

None of these problems occur if the dial-up is never started.

I have the same customer and dial-up windows on a computer laptop win 8.1 and it works very well (so far!).

It's obviously windows communication layer/drivers that gets corrupted on win 7 machine?

Anyone know the root cause of this problem and a reliable solution for this? In addition to reinstall Windows from scratch.

    Hi thanks for the reply.

He seems to have righted itself - I tried a lot of things, including several restorations system and this has triggered the automatic update again. I not save the updated KB number, just that it was a critical update for Windows Defender which could not be uninstalled. I checked my history of updates, but it does not appear on it.

I thought that the problem could also be to do with a new version of Java which was held at the same time. Or he could have made the point on my Avast antivirus or a combination of these. Anyway in the end I gave up and figured a full restart would be the only way forward but then, all of a sudden, after a few days the same problem. Dial-up directory started working again without any problem (I'm persevering it).

My original problem was that the dial-up telephone directory would open, I could press on connect and then he would get Strawberry "registering on the network" and it would just freeze and the CPU would be really crazy. Sometimes I'd get a sign "not able to connect you - error number?" if I re-compound and then it worked. Other times I don't have the error message, it just frozen and I had to open the Task Manager to stop it. Then it would work, but will continue a few times after.

Anyway, whatever it is there, for the moment at least, solved itself.

That is sad that computers were the labor saving! HA!

  • Limits of pix 506 for VPN client connections

Hello. My company is looking to move away from using Microsoft's RRAS to workers to remote VPN connections. We have a 506th Pix currently serving 2 site VPN connections and client connections. Nobody knows what the limit for concurrent client vpn connections on a 506e and if having 10 to 20 clients connected at the same time (on a user base of 100 +) would cause problems. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

There is no license for the number of connections limit, this is more a limitation of resources. Check that the data sheet a 506E can handle 16 MB of 3DES VPN. It's marketing plug so the actual throughput will be lower.

  • How to prevent users from a domain network to connect from another pc

We have a domain based LAN with 6 users with individual workstations and a server (windows server 2003).
Is it possible to configure a workstation in such a way that they would make newspaper-on the system using only a user ID?
Currently all users can connect from any workstation using his ID and password. I want to avoid this.

    For example:
The USER is a user who uses a WS-1 station,
B the USER is a user who uses WS-2 workstation,
USER-C is a user using the workstation WS-3
then currently USER 1, USER 2 and USER-3 can log - on the system from any workstation using a credential.

    I want to avoid this.

What I want is, WS-1 workstation can only be connected to the USER-A credentials, the WS-2 workstation can only be connected by the credentials of the USER-B and so on.

    Is this possible?

    Hello Chetan,

You're in the wrong Forum for this type of question which is one most appropriate for the ad server and group policy (with possibly the local policy on the workstations).  I would move this if I could, but we do not have this feature in our magic Toolbox.

To start, see if the information contained in this TechNet article help: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/3639e354-3a41-41b9-bf2e-74abc49e23d6/user-permision-on-workstations.

If not, then open a new question/thread in this same forum http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/ and ask your question there.  I am sure that you will get detailed advice covering both sides of the situation (Server and workstation) better than here where there is a tendency to focus only on client computers, not servers, unless that quite simple (and being an MCSE, I know that's not really simple - but it also isn't really very difficult if you understand the basics - and even then they should be able to help) to find articles or provide instructions to pass you this part).  I have no doubt that they can also bring about changes, you need to establish which are specific to the workstation (and maybe even have a model of batch file to semi-automate the process - but now I'm guessing / hoping).

In any case it is really where you should start and return only if explain you what it is about the customers that they cannot handle and need us to help you (because I can't imagine that happening).

    Good luck!
