Migration planning schema (Oracle DB)

When migrtating underlying planning schema from one environment to another, it wont bring all the metadata and the forms from the old to the new environment?

Yes, it will certainly restart.

  • 9.3.3 update/migration planning apps to 11.1.2.2

I'm at the next step in our upgrade of 9.3.3 11.1.2.2 and ready to migrate our planning applications. I have read many of the posts related to it and have a general list of the steps, but I have a slightly different situation than what I've seen posted before.

To summarize, we have installed 11.1.2.2 on new servers.  Our old 9.3.3 is still running on different environment.  I have correctly completed the following:

1 Foundation Services Shared Services installed and up and running, and users/groups correctly migrate.

2 Essbase and EAS and up and running.  All Essbase applications (except for planning applications), were migrated successfully of 9.3.3 to 11.1.2.2.

    3. the planning has been installed and is operational.  While there is no apps planning in the new system, I can open planning via the workspace administrator.

So the next step is to get my apps of moved/transferred the 9.3.3 planning environment for the new 11.1.2.2.

To complicate matters, we are through to the SQL Server repository 9.3.3 to Oracle in our new 11.1.2.2.  So the first thing we did was to create a new Oracle schema for our planning app repository and using the developer SQL migrate Wizard, we have migrated/copied tables and data from the old Oracle's SQL Server.  It seems that all the tables and data have been properly copied to Oracle.

Our old planning application is called PlanTest. The owner of the application is a native user called planadm.  My planned migration plan (and my questions) are:

    1. create a new empty planning called PlanTest into account application planamd 11.1.2.2 native?

    2. If I use my new Oracle repository for this soft white, it will eliminate the old data converted or he will try to upgrade/migrate it?

3 or... should I take a backup of my new first converted repository.  Then drop/recreate the Oracle schema (so no tables) and let Planning to build the repository when I create the Virgin Planning application?  Then capture the owner SID in the new table HSP_USER.  Stop planning. The backup of the overlay on the newly created repository 9.3.3, then replace the owner SID info. Then restart Planning.

    * My concern: the structures of repository planning app table matches between 9.3.3 and 11.1.2.2?

    4. open Planning and hope that the PlanTest application appears!

    5. use Planning Upgrade Wizard to complete the migration and upgrade of the repository.

    6 push/Create app to Essbase.

7 export data from old app in .txt file loading and reloading in planning new cube.

8 convert/migration of business rules using information from John's blog.

I don't know that I missed something.  Suggestions or comments on these steps would be appreciated.  Bottom line is I need to get this app (and several others) migrated successfully with all the metadata, rules of security, forms, etc..  Their reconstruction from scratch is NOT an option.

In addition, to clarify.  It is a classic planning application.  We do not use EPMA.

    Thank you

    Mike

It would probably make things even simpler if the owner of the application has been changed to the default Administrator account before the upgrade.

In any case, it has been included before, but

create a blank planning application (any options) with planadm

store the SID code in the table HSP_USERS

stop planning, dropping the schema, import the 9.3.3 the same pattern,.

updated the SID in the HSP_USER to that stored.

    Start planning

    Update app

    and so on

I try with model db (DB empty, just a single table), but the error is same. However, if I try to copy the acronym tabele from SQL Server to Oracle it works fine...

I guess it's something with the configuration, but beacause I am new in Oracle still have no idea...

Any help would be much appreciated

    I thank in advance

    Stefan

    Hello Stefan,

did you create the repository Migration of your database to Oracle (Tools-> Migration-> repository management)?

The SS2K5ALLPLATFORM package is usually created when you add the migration of the Oracle database repository and it contains the function StageCapture.

So please make sure that you have created a repository of migration in an Oracle database and associate it with the first step of your migration.

  • Application Migration Planning

    Hello

I mentioned the previous post of migration Migration of Hyperion Planning Application
and come out with something associated with SID, if the owner of the application to the target application is different:
Go to the tables of database to the planning application and look at the HSP_USERS table, store the value of the SID user 50001
means that I should go to the schema of the target server and copy the SID against user 50001 for later use.
8 go in the HSP_USERS table and update the SID of the user 50001 id
means paste SID against 50001 target server that I copied in the previous step (after the replacement of the schema to the target server from a schema of the source) (scheme are similar to the source and target)

These steps are necessary, if the owner of the source/target application is not the default Administrator account.
Once you create your empty planning on the target application, go to the table and keep the SID.

After you migrate the schema, go and then paste the sid your stored above.

  • EPMA Migration Planning Application

    Hello

We are migration planning EPMA from Dev to QA application. After you import the application, the application is shown as a UNICODE application in environmental assessments in QA.
Please let me know why this is happening and how to change it to the format NOT UNICODE.

    Version 11.1.2.1

    Thank you
    Nainitha

You will need to remove the app, and then update the parameter then recreate it again, I know it's possible to hack the table to update the setting but because the application is already created I'm not sure it would make much difference.

The default Administrator account exists in your source, it will have a SID of native://DN=cn=911, or = People, dc is css, dc = hyperion, dc = com? USER

Otherwise (if you have to make sure there is not) and you created your application target with admin, then a method would be to stop planning.
Go to HSP_USERS table together the SID of the owner id to:-native://DN=cn=911, or = People, dc is css, dc = hyperion, dc = com? USER
Then go to HSP_OBJECT and update the OBJECT_NAME of hypbud to the admin, restart planning.

to determine the configuration of your installation.

Enter the password for your 'SYSTEM ': ORACLE schema

  • MySql to Oracle DB Migration, creating schema problem

    Hello
Im a beginner, try to migrate a mysql database in oracle. The mysql db contains a few tables, if im trying to migrate everything manually.
When filling out the tables a problem im. It's as follows:

    Table 1 has a Key (t1_col1, t1_col2, t1_col3) primary Composite.
Table2 contains a column (t2_col1), which is a reference to Table1 t1_col1 (to make t1_col1 a repository key in the other table must be UNIQUE or PRIMARY, but as we know table can have a unique primary key and the t1_col1 contains redundant data, so cant make UNIQUE either).
So I tried indexing of the t1_col1 column but it dint seem to work as well, creating table2 it gives "no unique match or primary key for this list of columns.
    ".

I think that MySql is not so strict a lot compared to Oracle, please guide me through this, any workaround (s)?
    This is the MySql schema:

    CREATE TABLE "temp". "table1")
    't1_col1' varchar (50) NOT NULL,
    't1_col2' varchar (50) NOT NULL,
    't1_col3' varchar (50) NOT NULL,
    "t1_col4" integer NOT NULL,
    PRIMARY KEY ('t1_col1', 't1_col2', 't1_col3')
    )
    ENGINE type = InnoDB
    CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci;

    CREATE TABLE "temp". "table2")
    't2_col1' varchar (50) NOT NULL,
    't2_col2' varchar (50) NOT NULL,
    FOREIGN KEY CONSTRAINT 'table2_fk1' 'table2_fk1' ('t2_col1')
    REFERENCES, 'table1' ('t1_col1')
    ON DELETE CASCADE
    ON UPDATE CASCADE
    )
    ENGINE type = InnoDB
    CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci;

    Looking forward to the answer.

If I didn't know that MySQL allows you to declare FK constraints that are non-profit information only and does not apply, I would find this surprisiing really, since the essence of a FK relationship is that the child is identified by the parent.

In Oracle, you must create a primary key for the substitution on the table1 based on the unique combination of col1, col2 and col3. I would certainly use a sequence for it. Next, you create a unique constraint on col1, col2 and col3 to apply your natural primary key. FK in table2 would be the key to substitution from table1. Something like:

    CREATE TABLE table1 (
       t1_surr_key NUMBER NOT NULL,
       t1_col1 Varchar2(50) NOT NULL,
       t1_col2 Varchar2(50) NOT NULL,
       t1_col3 Varchar2(50) NOT NULL,
       t1_col4 integer NOT NULL)

ALTER TABLE table1 ADD CONSTRAINT table1_pk
       PRIMARY KEY (t1_surr_key);

ALTER TABLE table1 ADD CONSTRAINT table1_uk
       UNIQUE (t1_col1, t1_col2, t1_col3);

    CREATE TABLE table2 (
       t2_col1 varchar2(50) NOT NULL,
       t2_col2 varchar2(50) NOT NULL,
       t1_surr_key NUMBER NOT NULL,
    CONSTRAINT table2_fk1 FOREIGN KEY (t1_surr_key)
       REFERENCES table1 (t1_surr_key)
       ON DELETE CASCADE

  • With regard to the migration of the Oracle database to MS SQL

    Hi all

In my application, oracle is the existing database. We need to migrate from Oracle database to MS SQL.
We need procedure is as below
1 export data from Oracle and keep it in a file. (.dmp)
2 import data from MS SQL in the oracle export file.

and vice versa from MS SQL to Oracle.

My question is - it is possible to import the .bmp (oracle export data) in MS SQL.

    Please clarify for me.

There are two options to get the data from Oracle to MS SQL.
The simplest is to create a linked in MS SQL to Oracle server and copy the data with a query like select * in oracle.schema.table my_mssqlTable; via the linked server.
Some data types will not be supported.
    That's an instant copy.

If you need a fence at real-time replication, you can use replication MS (I would not recommend because it creates triggers on the Oracle tables), or you can use GoldenGate or DataCurrents or other replication products.

  • Migration - MySQL to Oracle - do not generate data files

    Hello

I have been using the SQL Developer migration Assistant to move data from a MySQL 5 database to an Oracle 11 g server.
I used it successfully a couple of times and its has all worked.

However, I am currently having a problem whereby there is no offline data file generated. Control files and all other scripts generated don't... just no data file.
It worked before, so I'm a bit puzzled as to why no logner work.

I looked at newspapers of migration information and there is no errors shown - datamove is marked as success.
I tried deleting and recreating rhe repository migration and checked all grants and privs.

Is there an error message then it would be something to continue but have tried several times and checked everything I can think.

I also tried the approach of migration command-line... same thing. Everything works fine... no errors... but only the table creation and control script files are generated.
The schema of the source is very simple and there is only the tables to migrate... no procedure or anything else.

    Can anyone suggest anything?

    Thank you very much
    Mike

    Hi Mike,.

    I'm so clear.
    You use SQL Developer 3.0?
You walked through the migration wizard and choose Move Offline mode data.
The generation of DDL files are created as are the scripts to move data.
But no data (DAT) file is created and no data has been entered in the Oracle target tables.

With offline data move, Developer SQL generates (saved in your project, under the DataMove dir directory) 2 sets of scripts.
    (a) a set of scripts to unload data from MySQL to DAT files.
    (b) a set of scripts to load data from the DAT files in the Oracle target tables.
These scripts must be run by hand, specifying the details for the source databases MySQL and Oracle target.

"no offline data file generated. Control files and all other scripts generated don't... just no data file. »
«.. . but only the creation and control file table scripts are generated. »

    What you mean
    (1) the DAT files are not generated automatically. This should, if we need to run the scripts yourself
    (2) after manually running the scripts that the DAT are not present, or that the DAT files are present, but the data does not load in Oracle tables.
    (3) the scripts to move data in offline mode does not get generated

    Kind regards

  • ODI import not from columns of a Hyperion planning scheme

    Hello

I tried to reverse engineer the Hyperion Planning application schema to get one of the tables. I added the data server and the physical schema, I added the model and made of reverse engineering. Reverse engineering is successful but the tables appear not in the models.

    Thank you

    Faizan Memon

    Dear all,

The problem has been resolved. My planning application schema name was 'AS_IS. I entered the physical schema "As_Is" and test the connection, the connection was successful. Now when I tried to reverse engineering, it gave me 0 rows.

I debugged the code to extract the tables, the code has been filtering 'As_Is' owner to get tables. As a result, it was not all columns. I changed the physical schema of "AS_IS", and now it shows me the tables.
