Minimize / maximize / close buttons in the menu bar disappear often and rarely

Half the time I start windows 7, I do not see the minimize/maximize/close buttons in the menu at the top of each window bar. When I restart, sometimes it comes back on in his place. But he continues to be very frequently.

No one knows why this happens?

  • I am an old minimize, restore, close button in the new Firefox under XP

I use XP sp2 and everything looks new except the minimize, restore and close.
    How can I solve it?

These buttons on the title bar are controlled by Windows and no not by Firefox, so those keep the old look.

It seems that you got the orange menu button Firefox on XP and have more bar menus visible.

You get the orange Firefox menu button when the menu bar is hidden.

You can press the F10 key or press the Alt key to display the menu bar hidden if necessary.

  • Is there a way to remove the Favorites button in the menu bar?

Is there a way to remove the Favorites button in the menu bar? I use the Google toolbar to organize my favorites because Google bookmarks can be accessed from any computer and my phone. By habit, I continue to go click on the Favorites button in the menu bar in Firefox, but there is nothing there. Can I remove it? I want to talk about real "Bookmarks" option in the menu bar across the top of the window: file | Change | View | History | BOOKMARKS | Tools | Help

  • How to stop the menu bar disappearing

I HAD THE PROBLEM WITH THE MENU BAR DISAPPEARS FROM MY SCREEN.  WORKING IN EL CAPITAN 10.11.3

Have been where I was told to go through other sites - unable to bring back the menu bar and lock it to the top of the screen.

    Please help/tips

Thanking you in advance for your time...

Go to system--> general Preferences and uncheck "hide and show the menu bar automatically.  Also, if you use any application (like Safari) full screen, the menu bar will be hidden until your mouse over the top of your screen.  To stop this, press ESC to exit full-screen.  The menu bar must return permanently.

  • Disable minimize or close button on the client to view

    Hello

I hope this is the right forum for this question. I couldn't find the info I was looking for by searching online.

Is it possible to disable the maximize/minimize/disconnect button in the top bar after that which appears after login to any computer virtual? I use VMWare View client 4.6. If you need more information, please let me know. Thank you

If I'm not mistaken, I think what you want is - this setting:

    'Enable the shadow '.

Determines whether the menu bar of shadow at the top of the View Client window is visible. This setting is enabled by default. NOTE the shadow menu bar is disabled by default for the kiosk mode.

  • How do I access «Convert colors...» "button in Adobe Acrobat XI with applescript or add this button to the menu bar?

Hi, I'm writing applescript for automating Adobe Acrobat XI, Miss me that one line of code - opening the window of dialogue of the tool «convert colors...» ». It was easy in Acrobat 9, but one reason is complicated in Acrobat XI.

Y does it have an option to add «convert colors...» "as a menu in the menu bar item?

Or you can run this JS code:

    app.execMenuItem ("ColorConversionMenuItem");

  • Under the menu bar is black and it's annoying. How can I solve this problem?

I updated Firefox and now there is a black space between the menu bar and the search bar. It has never been their before and it's pretty boring. Also when I scroll a button it says it black. That has never happened before. I think it's because I have a version of alienware windows 7.

You can see in view > toolbars to see if you can identify that this toolbar.

    • Firefox > Options
    • View > toolbars

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

You may also need to disable transparency in Windows 7.

Right-click in the free space on your desktop.

    Left click on personalization.

There are four options in Windows 7 at the bottom of the screen, select 'window color and appearance '.

    Select a border color

    Uncheck the box: "enable transparency".

  • my search bar, address bar, and all the other menus option from the top of the menu bar disappeared. Please help me!

I've been adding some handy add-ons and tweaks when everything all suddenly but my favorites are gone. All menu options drop-down (for example, file, tools, and help) dissipated as well, so I couldn't find an easy way to change the settings back.

Please help me, any suggestions would be wonderful.

Press F10, or press the Alt key to bring up the 'Menu Bar' temporarily.

Make sure the toolbars like the toolbar 'Navigation' and the 'personal bar' are visible: "view > toolbars".

  • When a new tab opens the cursur button in the address bar to search and not the search engine

When a new tab opens the cursor will move to the address bar to search and not to the search engine, I put to a new tab page.

I went to about: config and changed keyword.enable to false. It works for the homepage at Firefox startup.

How to disable the address for a new tab search, as I did for my homepage?

    sheilahsay

Hello sheilahsay, maybe this addon works for you: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/custom-new-tab/

  • Menu from the top (minimize/maximize/close buttons) is missing

In the view of the main Thunderbird Inbox, all above the tabs is missing. It is transparent, but the area is still part of the Thunderbird window and clicking it keeps the focus in this window. I'm under 24.3.0. I met two possible fixes for this (was related to themes, but I use the original theme, the other was to hit toggle full screen - in my case, F11 appears to be disabled or broken), but have not been able to solve the problem. I'm running Windows 7 Pro SP1, x 64

For anyone else knows this bug (Matt, it's a bug - almost all Windows apps should have at least a red 'X' button close and Thunderbird is without expection), the problem was solved when I updated to 24.4.0 (Win 7 SP1)

Thank you for taking the time to respond, guigs2 and Matt.

Note that a very similar question is continued here:

  • Is there a setting in Firefox about: config page which will allow the Drop Down bookmarks button display the Menu bar is displayed?

I understand that someone asked a very similar question in this post: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/977490?esab=a & as = aaq but I want to achieve my goal without adding another addon or extension to my browser.

These files do not exist by default, so you must go to the Firefox profile folder and create a folder of chrome .
In the chrome folder, you can create a new file and paste the content in this file and save the file as userChrome.css

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)
  • How to make smaller minimize/maximize/close buttons?

I want to do the reduction - optimize - closing/buttons on the right of smaller output. What is the CSS for it?

    He solved.

    In Windows 7:
    Click office >
    Go to personalize >
Click on the color of the window (custom) >
    Click Advanced appearance settings >
Find the caption buttons and change the size to your liking!

I like it to size 18, because it does not take so much space.
