• Advice required - what UI component to a data browser application

  I am building a data browser application and to display a row of data for each item in the database in one window scrolling.  I wonder advice on what user interface component to use.  OS 5.0 or later only.

  The app will have at least 500 lines of data - maybe more up to a mile or two.  So I'm afraid that if I load all the data in a ListField or ObjectListField I'll use scads of memory to display the data - which most scrolls off the screen.

  I could page the next page of data instead of scrolling dynamically, but that degrades the user experience.  I could build a data reader multi-threaded which fills a video page before and reduced the amount of data contained in the list at any time - but hope that there is a better way.

  Advice appreciated...

  This isn't an answer to the question that is asked but, you mentioned the quality of the experience 'user' as a factor, so here it goes...

  Unless it is a scientific application, I submit respectfully that the average user does not scroll on lines of 500-1000 of data, regardless of the nature of the UI container.

  How about a query/filter front page, for example as the OS5 built in search of e-mail, perhaps associated with a sort function... to cut the results to a reasonable number, then present in a list field... who can easily manipulate for example, 100 records.

• The missing browser window! Happened when I downloaded "partially" bar to get the coupon. cancelled before the end. Deleted in computer... still no browser

  Took the wise decision looking for a coupon download a bar. Cancelled before it finished... entered the computer and delete. Everything what it on my page except the window/browser bar that my page is in my opinion an AOL Firefox page. When I turn on the computer normally, I have a big search engine in the middle that I don't know. I go to the browser and start www.aol (never having to finish... drop a login... Click on) & Huffington post comes with available electronic mail. My News & then go to the email. I like that! Now NO browser window! To get to email due to history and find the past & put updated! Clicked on the browser... put in custody and error control. How can I fix it? Not tech y please more easy fix?

  COR - el... You are a genius! Thank heaven, a simple solution for me. I pushed the key F11 key before dinner... nothing. After dinner... refreshed & ready to attack again. I went to support via clicking on your email down... then clicked on site that you highlighted to see if I missed something. No, exactly as you explained. BUT I watched questions alongside your message of support to see if they shed any light. The last issue said a woman how to make something disappear... then told him to go see and bring things back. I was not sure but thought if I could get the F11 to work click on view and see if all there help.
  I have had no back arrows so had to move from one page of AOl email to support and again through windows I could switch and make it appear at the top. I pressed F11 hard and voila! The menu bar is back... so I went to see. And you know the answer... clicked on toolbars and the navigation toolbar was not selected! Clicked and I am in service again!

• Why can't I open Firefox browser application after close without re-booting CPU? Windows XP sp3

  Error message lights up indicating that the browser is already running and I have to restart the computer to start a new session.

  This happens after I already had open browser, but it closed by pressing the 'X' in the upper right window.

• How can I correct the title missing from applications at random bars?

  After my Windows XP worked for a while, windows start to draw a parallel with no title bar.  What title bars are missing will increase from the time when I switch from one application to.  Title bar of the application itself will be there for a minute and went to the other, before returning the next day.  At the same time, the system becomes unable to open files on windows via sharing network by using a UNC path.  Closing applications randomly will temporarily ease the problem, at least to the extent to be able to access the network again, files but some title bars never come back.

  It's NOT the things:

  (1) a request somehow mode "full screen".

  (2) a screen resolution problem

  (3) a missing menu bar

  (4) a missing toolbar

  (5) specific to any individual request and/or its configuration

  Malwarebytes, Avira Antivirus and Scan of Windows malware don't detect anything abnormal.

  The problem is also likely to be linked (to least directly) to my video driver.  I use the latest WHQL certified driver from nVidia.  The problem has occurred through multiple different iterations of the video driver.  A condition that can contribute to the problem is that I have a system of double head - video card readers two high-resolution displays simultaneously, spanning desktop mode.

  Most likely, the problem is related to a kind of exhaustion of resources, but I can't determine which.  It manages, objects, or something I don't know the name, whatever it is, I'm short of it.  What resources are needed to correctly draw title bars and how I determine what application is fleeing their or consuming wildly inappropriate many of them?

  Thanks for the return of the response.  Since you answered in January this issue only occurred again since your last post?  Are you on a home or business network, only ask because you advised when the title bar happens that you can't open the files on the network.

  Since then, you don't get all the errors when this problem is occurring are you seeing anything in Event Viewer?

  I'm developing a web application using Oracle's JDeveloper. How can I determine if a request was initiated by a Blackberry user, so I can go back a page that fits well on this device.

  I'm not sure that's exactly what you asked, but you should be able to get the value HTTP_USER_AGENT that a BlackBerry browser device sends to your server, and allows to customize the output that you provide.

  Currently, the user agent for the PlayBook seems to be:

  Mozilla/5.0 (PlayBook; U; RIM Tablet OS 1.0.0; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.11+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.1.0.7 Safari/534.11+
  

  You'll want to identify that user agents are for the different devices you want to support and do a people search string.

  When you call super.close (), and the display battery is empty after closing the window, System.exit (0) is called automatically. Close() returns never so, your browser code never runs.

  Get rid of the call to close() or move it to where you call System.exit (0) and get rid of the latter.

  Since no one responds, I'll give what I can.

  I think you have two choices, I have used and tested any of them, so it's quite reading.

  (1) content - in this case manager you'd download link managed by your specific applications - I think it will take an effective link

  (b) HttpFilterRegistry - in what provide you the response to the browser - so you can tell her something simple like "start application" and then perform processing in your own application.

  Take a look at them and see if you can understand.  I also recommend looking up in the forum, because I am confident this question was asked before.

Occasionally, my camera is in a State where, despite being connected to Wi - Fi and see the BlackBerry logo in the upper right corner, the only internet application that I can use is the browser. The rest say I am not connected to the internet. A solution for this is to do a battery pull, but I was wondering why this is happening and if there is no way to stasrting it.

  I forgot to mention that it started after that I bought a 1 day pass data from my carrier (Fido).

  I contacted Fido and BlackBerry (via Fido) assistance and the ultimate solution was to buy a data plan that would solve the problem (my PIN has been set at idle on BIS).

  To solve the problem, I did a "reset to factory defaults" via BlackBerry Desktop Manager and I have restored the last backup I had before I bought the data in 1 day pass.

  You can use it to the playlists and albums but not for all your music when you're in the music - artist

  At a moment of panic when I couldn't find, but I found it!

  Simply click on the 'Songs' option under the library instead of "artists".

  Honestly, do really need to do this so hard to find with each version? It's honestly the only way to browse music. No matter how many times they try to impose a new "option" of listening, the Explorer is the only one that is truly functional and day where it is removed permanently will be the day Apple continues to receive money from me indefinitely.   Yes, it's unfortunately the new keyboard for the X 1 and a few other ThinkPad edge and X1x0e layout. Not sure what some of the major aftermarket software remapping would work in this situation.

  I hope someone can help me with a problem I have. I am currently coding my first app webworks for the Playbook, and everything went well except that my application icon does not appear. I tried my compiled bar line on the Playbook 1.0.1 Simulator and a physical Playbook running OS 1.0.7.2670, which do not show the icon. The icon I use is 86 x 86 pixel, named "icon.png".   My sidebar file was compiled using Webworks 2.1.0.6. The three files ("blackberry - tablet.xml ', 'config.xml',"icon.png") are located in the root directory of the application.   I assume you are using the file blackberry - tablet.xml in the execution of an application not signed in the PlayBook device. This file is not necessary for signed applications, only the config.xml file is required. And for your problem, I guess it must solve it. In blackberry - tablet.xml , use the following code for the icon.

  Maybe this can help. If I delete an application as the clock that came on my Z10 and the phone has been recently updated when I check again after its deleted I show as requiring updating and the clock will be displayed when I update. So what you say if it has been deleted. I donoe it several times to see if an update might just be to replace a preloaded application.
