  So I figured this out and it was just a really stupid mistake. I didn't know that you need to convert your text UTF-8 document. I did this and it works fine now. Thanks for all the help. I'm sure that they the URL encoding will be useful also.

  I want to limit the amount of characters in the text field based on the first digit of the number (the text field is limited to a number format... no decimals, no comma).

  For example, if the number starts with a 3, I would limit the text field to allow only ten characters. I have three scenarios but if I could start with code and what is the best place to add (key combination or validation?) I can take it from there. Thanks again for your help!

  I wrote this code for you that does this. Use it as a typo of the custom field code:

  You can duplicate the second part of it for additional terms, but keep in mind that this code won't let you even remove the first character in the field if the result is not valid.

  For example, if you enter "234567890123456" then you can't remove the "2" at the beginning because that would result in a number not valid. You can delete all the other numbers, even if and when it is 10 digits or less, then you can remove the departure "2" as well.

  I'm missing a few characters, once I insert the text in a dynamic text field. characters are not lacking by saying; they are replaced by empty squares.

  characters such as the euro symbol and accentuated German letter.

  What is weird is that the other German accented letters appear. If only a few selected are missing.

  How Ive set up the FLA:

  (1) I added 4 text fields to the scene to police im using, Arial, one for each font style: normal, italic, bold and bold italic and in all 4 fields ive incorporated all Latin characters (to include the German characters accentuaded and im guessing it is in the punctuation group that contains the euro symbol so that one is also incorporated), not to mention as lowercase, uppercase, numeric, and all the groupd default to include the basic text.

  (2) I have a dynamic text field created with createTextField, and set up the ActionScript code following (2):

  When calling the text from the browser's address bar, there is no missing characters.

  It's just when I make this appeal of flash and load the text in the dynamic text field, that the characters will be missed.

  any ideas? I mean, it seems that the arial font is missing some characters accented! because the code that I have installed loads other accented characters.

• Hebrew text import problems

  I cut and pasted the Hebrew text in MS Word in a Hebrew word-processing program (Aboubakar 6). I then imported the text of the word ID CS4 Standered. About every third word a vowel sign under a letter dissappeared and has been replaced with a box in the middle of the word. I tried to cut and paste from MS Word and got the same result. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Switching fonts does not help. (The font I used is Sylvia) Thank you!

  In DavkaWriter under Edit > Copying is for, you chose to Unicode?

  If this does not help try to export to DW and select RTF under options choose unicode UTF-16 and then place this file directly in InDesign.

  in what format save you your file? If it's a jpg file, then the text is compressed and unfortunately PS is telling things as they are. Even if you could change the text before you save, after having been saved in jpg format, the text is merged and is no longer editable.

  A good solution is to save the files as PSD files, photoshop files. In this case, all layers are saved uncompressed and so your text will appear in its own layer in photoshop. All you need to do in this case to change it is the result of a three-step procedure

  (1) select the right layer

  (2) take the text tool in the tools bar

  (3) mark and change your text

  So the crucial question is: in what format you save your file?

  It seems silly that it is so easy to define the maximum number of characters in a text box (IE. Properties > Options > characters limit of X) but that there is no easy equaivalent to the minimum number of characters? At least not in Acrobat 9 in any case, don't know versions ever!

  That was a rhetorical question. So what you really want, it's if the field is not empty, it would take at least a minimum number of characters. What is the minimum number that you want to apply? You'd probably want to use a custom for this validation script, but what exactly do you want to happen if the user enters only three characters, but the minimum you want is four? Should be rejected three characters who were seized in total, or should focus just the back of the field value so that the user can enter, or something else?

  Here's what might look like a script that rejects the input:

  I am trying to create an animation/simulation of cellular phone on board animate CC for use in a course of Captivate. In fact, when a user clicks on the number keys on the virtual keyboard, it displays the numbers in a text box, just as a real cell phone will display the phone number on the screen as a caller to connect. Thus, the user must click seven buttons and a seven-digit phone number is displayed on the screen of the virtual phone.  This part of my animation works fine and all seven digits appear, but I want to change the code so that a hyphen appears after that the third button clicked. In this way, the output looks like better a phone number instead of just a string of seven digits.

  Here is an example of the code that I currently assigned to the #2 in the virtual keyboard button:

  I think that you should study the Jim Leichliter widget that allows you to use regular Expressions to validate text input.

• Missing icon of MSG TEXT blackBerry Torch 9800 Smartphone.

  After reading through the forums, I have not found a resolution to my message text missing on my BB Torch icon. It was a few days ago, but he has disappeared since. I have read and tried a few things. It does not yet show upward in the menu (device/delete data) after I have sync'd. I do not receive the messages but without notification. The length in characters is also only 28 per message (incoming). The outgoing is OK. The contacts are all here... the SMS in the menu it is checked.  Also, I don't get FaceBook notifications. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.    DG

  I set up a gallery/info in Flash viewer for a fraternity that I am. What I did is:

  -A the thumbnail of the photo of each Member is displayed

  -When the thumbnail is clicked, an image is called in a UILoader at the top of the screen, and a string is called to be placed in a dynamic textbox next to the UILoader.

  Thus, random characters are missing and the same characters (i.e. the I launched, two years, etc, not the 10th character or other) are missing across all thumbnails of forty-or-so. Everything else (image loading, etc.) works very well. I work out "of the official Adobe Systems training workbook" for advice and the example they had like this involved pulling .txt files to load in the box, what can I do if I have to, but I would keep rather just this way. Anyone have any ideas? Any help is appreciated.

• Missing characters on Satellite P100

  Since a few days I have Satellite P 100. The unit is very nice and I like it a lot, but I noticed a problem with negative and what bothers me about my work. Very often, I have to write lengthy reports and I always try to write it's fast but I am always surprised when I see that a lot of characters is missing.

  I put t really know what is the problem here but it is very annoying and it always takes a lot of time to correct any written text.
  Anyone of you have the same problem on P100? Please let me know if anyone of you has the solution for that!

  I can understand you, but please don t you worry about this. For a short time, another user reported this problem on this forum. It is solved with the new BIOS - Version 2.10 of the 27.7.2006.

  This update of the BIOS, you can find on the page of Toshiba Europe under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

  Click on support & downloads > support home > BIOS update (download). When the BIOS download page is open, choose your phone model and make the BIOS update. For P100, there are three different models listed. Please do not forget that you have chosen the right way.

• Immediate change in the limit of characters of the text field?

  I have a PDF form that I try to do more foolproof. When a user enters his credit card number, I want to check the first two numbers to see which kind of card it is (Visa/MasterCard/American Express) and select the radio suitable for them, as well as limit the number of digits that can be entered in the credit card number field. I found it for the most part, but it seems that change the limit of characters (charLimit) in the card number field is not actually take place until focus leaves the field, then comes. Here is the code I have so far, in the property Custom hits Script on the tab Format for this field:

  It seems that my code pasted a bit cut off near the end for a reason, but I think that it is enough to show what I want to happen. Because this script is executed at every keystroke, and then after the first two characters are typed, I want to limit the number of characters for what is appropriate for this type of card. This should help a little to what people mistyped their number. However, as I said, the change isn't actually place until focus leaves and enters this area.

  I don't think that you can not do it like that, but you don't need to. As you are already using a script of the event in the sequence of keys, you can check the length of the text and then reject the strikes if it is too long.
