Replacement precision M6800 optical disc?

My hard drive is broken... I need to order a new one.  You can direct me to a good replacement for my M6800?

Thank you!

I learned by calling Dell that my computer was still under warranty, then they just sent me a replacement (they were officially what was in the computer).  I had to YouTube how to access the CD drive, because it was a little more difficult than the 'PIN' on some computers. Yet, it was still fairly easy after viewing the video.  I was very happy with the service the Dell customer (Shocking!).

Thank you for responding to my inquiry!

  • Addition of optical disc to Satellite Pro L830-17 t

I just bought a Satellite Pro L830-17 t that has no optical drive. I would like to add one, but I noticed a video on the strange replacement on similar models, there is a bracket for the reader.

This is necessary and if so where would I get a?

Optical disc drive is fixed with a screw. For this you need a small piece of metal that must be fixed directly on the ODD. To be honest, it is not easy to just buy it. What you can try is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. I hope that they can order it for you.

You can also get some info on these updates.
I found information that some L830 models with ODD have Matsu * a STRANGE UJ862ABTJ-M indoors.

  • Re: Satellite L500D - cannot get the optical disc drive to work

Back again with this problem and this thread began again as it appears the original thread has been 'locked' ~ been awhile so it is aceptable.

I think that the TS-L633C TSST DVD/CD RW on my system is in fact die slowly, now I can not yet use Toshiba DVD PLAYER to watch DVDs. See http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=204206#204206 for the story.

Using the windows tool "FixIt" on a blank DVD got all green ticks OK but when I went to play DVDs ~ nothing!

How the reader '' hunt '' when I put any DVD in it and then fails, suggests that the reader was not not little by little and I must be looking for a new. Shame really, because I haven't used at all, hence the long time between my responses on this forum.

    So OK, where from here.

Nearest service center is a 5 hour drive, and I will send this laptop for my financial and other stuff done busy resourses is more allow me to simply replace this system and start from scratch.

I'm ready to buy another drive, but cannot locate any online (new) and I am not aware if there are other brands / types which would be appropriate.

    Toshiba Satellite L500D-PSLKOA-00U009 - TSST TS-L633C DVD/CD RW

    Any ideas anyone?

To be honest, the situation is strange to me, and I think that you spent too long with all this.

In my opinion, you have to manage fast. The fist issue is: either defective or not ODD?
The reasons why it doesn't work with a Toshiba DVD player is not relevant at all. You can test it with VLC media player to see how it works.

So I recommend you to follow:
You should not change your preinstalled operating system that you use for work or anything else. Try to get another HARD drive. Swap and install the OS by using recovery disc. Test the functionality of the WEIRD with the settings to be sure that the problem persists or not.

In the end, if you are willing to trade the player s check Manual of use and you will be find the list of all compatible optical disc readers you can use with your model of laptop.

  • 4415 proBook s: replacement of the optical drive - need a support and screw

    Hello

I'm replacing an optical drive, reference 535816-001 for a 4415 s HP's Probook. I've lost the support that attaches to the rear of the optical drive, seen in Maintenance and Service of Guide on page 68 (http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c01918897-3.pdf). The HP parts store said that the replacement of optical discs does not understand the support. I also talked with HP Support, and after putting me on hold and check with their supervisor, said that there is no spare part for the optical drive carrier. Does anyone know of a place to buy a replacement media for optical drive 535816-001 part number that would be compatible with a 4415 s HP's Probook?

I also need a Phillips PM2, 5 × 7.0 live which blocks the optical drive to the computer. I saw screw for sale online kits, but was not sure if someone knew a place where I could buy one.

Thank you very much for the help.

Wait, I don't understand it how can you lose this part if you already work on it? And for your parts, you should look on eBay if they have this hardware and screws for your car as well.

  • Dell Precision M6800 keyboard

I have a precision M6800 provided with unlighted keyboard. I would like to replace it with a keypad that is backlit. Can it be done? The existing keyboard has only three screws to remove. What would be the D/PN for a keyboard.

    Hi @Elpidio,

Please write to Dell Community Forum!

At Dell, that we would not say the user to go ahead with the upgrade of light not back to back light because the connector that connects the keyboard to the system board is of a different type.

The cable that works with keyboard backlight is not compatible with the connector on the system board, which would require the replacement of the system board.

    Hoping that it helps.

    Kind regards

  • Precision M6800 video driver upgrade inquiry

    Hi all

Well, I was finally able to upgrade my Vostro 3700. The Vostro was a good system, but it still ran hot. Dell has been kind enough to share my system with precision M6800. So far, I got the same EXCELLENT customer service with the number of calls on my Vostro overheating. With this new laptop, I think they have finally reached the mark, he is NOWHERE near as hot as the Vostro 3700 on idle and all playing games.

That being said, I'm trying to update my video drivers. There is a 4600 Intel integrated with the Intel Core i5 processor and an AMD over-pants M6100. Both using PowerPlay to manage graphics cards. I already downloaded the Intel and AMD video drivers from the Dell Support Web site. There is a warning on the Dell AMD driver page advising that the Intel driver must be installed first. When I try to install the Intel driver, I get the following error message:

""This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.".

So now I must ask, what else do I need to install the latest drivers?

I also downloaded the drivers of Intel provided site and he informed that I need to go through the manufacturer to obtain the latest drivers.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Johnathan

    @Ravi,

Since the condition Dell drivers did not work, I went to Inte.com and AMD.com and downloaded both of their drivers for the Intel HD 4600 and the AMD over-pants M6100. I made sure that all video cards have been uninstalled and their drivers deleted, except for the GDIHOOKS which I was not sure.

After a clean reboot, I started to install the Intel drivers, no complaint has provided the installer driver and installed without error. Restarted after installation. The screen change resolution to something more preferable and it seems to have worked very well. Suite on...

Started website AMD over-pants AMD.com pilots. They have not also complain of mounted, etc. Installation took longer than expected because it is a larger set. It is installed without problem. Restarted. No other error and everything seems good.

A test, I checked my energy saving settings. Maximum power on all saving battery related. Maximum performance on all associated Plugged In. Now, unlike before, when executing a pile, I get about 8-9 hours of battery life. Front when disconnected with the same power settings I received only about 2 hours. Plug the AC adapter in and launched Portal 2 with all its parameters back to the maximum with a resolution of 1600 x 900. Works very well. No delay, the graphic is great, works well.

Thus, as it seems the site provided Dell.com drivers either have problems with this model and the BONES (M6800 Precision Mobile Workstation with Windows 7 64-bit), or they do not work properly.

For anyone else who is curious, here are the links to the drivers I used:

  • Qosmio G50 - 10J: how to replace the optical disc drive (ODD)?

    Hello

the optical drive of my Qosmio G 50 does not work properly, it reads only some movie-DVD, but unfortunately not videogameDVDs at all, so I can't install any games.
The guarantee is also outdated. So I wanted to ask if it is possible to change the disk myself, if it is then how I had to do and if by the laptop would be in
    risk to get damaged?

I would be very grateful for each tip and all the help guys can give me!

    Best regards
    a.z.

    Hello

In various cases the ODD replacement is very delicate.

If you wish, you can consult this forum category.
Here you will find some videos how to replace the ODD on the different laptop models:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/Forums/Forum.jspa?forumid=115

This is also a nice Youtube Channel which provides the instructions how to replace the ODD:
    http://www.YouTube.com/user/toshibaeuropesupport

But the ODD laser lens may be dirty. In my case I could solve similar problem, cleaning the lens of the laser by using a cotton ball and alcohol tip.
    But make sure that this!

  • CAN I just copy an optical disc which will not rise?

I have a Mac Pro 1.1 with 2 optical drives in it.  I have an 8 year, DVD-R (DVD video playable) who will not rise in the optical drive - Mac said that it is in a format, it does not acknowledge.  Put in a DVD player just says "cannot read disc".

Is it possible that I can copy bit to try various recovery tools to extract the content?  I hope it's just the header of the disc which is corrupted, if I can little copy it there ' has a good chance I can retrieve the content as it was all linear written only once.

    Thank you.

1 insert a disc to work in one of your disks

    2. open Terminal and type "mount", press the ENTER key

    3. find the drive in the list of mounted volumes and remember / note the name of the drive, / dev/disk4s0 i.g.

    4. replace the drive working with the broken

    5. type "dd bs = 2048 if of=./Desktop/image.iso = / dev/disk4s0" and press the ENTER key

Replace "disk4s0" by the number of correct drive.

If you get a "permission denied" try "sudo dd bs =...". ». Enter your user password when asked.

  • Replacement HARD drive & optical drive to Satellite A45-S1202

Can someone point me to a reader of alternative alternatives other than the CMS (100-250 GB) 5400 RPM 2.5 PATA laptop universal Hard Drives?

Can I buy from another manufacturer... If so, what readers are recommended?
I would like more that what came with this particular computer (60 GB), but the price of replacement of Toshiba seems quite steep.

In addition, the A45-S1202 came with a DVD player / CD - RW. drive.

Does anyone know of a replacement drive DVDrw/CDrw (DVD burner) that works with this model?

Any & all help is greatly appreciated!

    Hello!

You can buy a larger HARD drive, it's not a problem.
Satellite A45 unknown to me but I think the bigger HARD disk should be 120 GB because the laptop has an IDE interface and the standard ATA-5 supports only the LBA 28 bits, which means that more than 120 GB hard drives will not recognized.
So you need a 2.5 HARD disk and 120 GB max.

I think you also to exchange the drive for a DVD burner, but if you want a new contact a local ASP. They can offer these discs.

    Good bye

  • Replaced the HARD drive, discs of HP Win 7 recovery, load loop file employees or any windows boot device

    System: HP pavilion dv6-3155dx
    OS: Windows 7 (64-bit)

My son's computer was on the fritz. No Moose OS disks, so I bought a recovery disc for HP. Not good. Machine attempted to run records, but stopped far from completion due to HARD disk failures. HARD drive failed the disk test HARD Insider bios. Replaced by the new Seagate. Added also 4 GB of RAM for total 8 Gb. BIOS test the RAM and the HARD disk as good. Yay!

BUT, when running Windows 7 recovery discs, I get the "Windows is loading files...". "black screen with the loading bar, first quickly, then slowly." Can I get the promise of "Starting Windows", but it fails and the system seems to reboot to the recovery disks in an infinite loop. Black loading screen, to windows to count, to restart it, to the black loading screen... Again and again and again. I can F8 safe mode that just brings back us to the loop.

Somewhere I heard tell that there was a problem with the HP startup with a new disk or the recovery disks and get the file sp44645.exe from Cyberlink, put on a CD and boot from there. Got the file, set the bios to boot and "No boot device - insert the diskette in the book and press a key." Rechecked. I'm starting the CD player (otherwise why Windows Life recovery disks?)

Hmm. Bios sees the HARD drive. Recovery of Windows of DVD starts but loops. No bootable CD bootable file.

I'm a bit confuzzled (confused/perplexed)? Where is the real failure here?

Good news so far. Hope by now that you have managed to successfully recover (didn't see it in time to pray ). If you've had success, you can try reinstalling the extra ram.

  • Hard drive replaced, but the recovery disc may not work properly

Oh here, my laptop (Acer Aspire 7730) will not start.

I believe that I made the correct recovery disks when I got the machine before he fell, but I recently replaced my keyboard and hard drive with the same components after damage was inflicted on my laptop and I tried to run the steps in Acer recovery since the restore disc 1. He seemed fine, but after installing the 2nd disc I have now "BOOTMGR is missing" "Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart" and cannot get it to load the backup that I did when the machine was working before-hand. I can get into setting up and see that the hard drive is now identified in the list of hardware (it was empty when the broken hard drive was still mounted), maybe someone can suggest some options to solve the my problem please?

I just checked the recovery disc 1 on another machine and found these folders and files on it...

    http://i812.Photobucket.com/albums/zz48/Vanguard_01/VistaBootdisc1.PNG

Is it possible that the backup that I did was for a specific hard drive, and because this HDD is different it won't find anything?

    Thank you

    Vanguard_1

Hi Debleena5 and thanks for the suggestions, but I've reached the re-installation of the disc by using a bit 'out of the box' the thought process.

I bought a box 2.5 "SATA to connect to any computer via the USB port to try to get something on the corrupted hard drive, but this failed. I then removed my new hard drive (which began at start up OK, as I mentioned in the question above) and placed in the case and plugged into my Windows 7 laptop. Once he had run up to speed I started to explore to see what files (or even at all) had been transferred during one of my recovery disks. I've not found much until I changed the "do not show hidden files and folders check" save a file that has been locked after you change the permissions, I went further and ended at the request of then ran CHKDISK and of course he scanned my drive and found and corrected some errors very quickly. After that, I unplugged then I went back to my Vista laptop and re-inserted the new hard drive in the broken machine.

At this point, I was wondering if the disk drive on the machine may also have been damaged so I plugged a DVD player external via USB and changed the sequence to boot to the USB device. I started the laptop and the drive started to load the files and I could then complete the resettlement of these two disks and then to set up the machine as if I had just bought it.

I'm very relieved that I managed to sort it out and now I have to upgrade to Windows 7 on this laptop that I read on and seems easy. Just a shame I can't copy the installation of my 2nd, portable more recent.

    Thanks again,

  • How to install windows 8 on hard drive replacement with no installation disc

I need to replace the failed hard drive on my laptop Asus N56VJ. I will probably opt for a hybrid drive of 1 TB. But how can I reinstall the windows operating system that is installed at the factory 8 with available installation disc?

    Hello Maggie,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for details on the issue.

I also appreciate the fact that you want to install Windows on a new hard drive.

You can install Windows using the steps described in this article and check if it helps.
    Reference:
How to perform a new installation of Windows
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/clean-install

You can create the media to install Windows from this link:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

I hope that you have the Windows product key for activation .

    Important notes:
BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

I recommend strongly to backup all your important files and folders on an external storage device before performing any type of OS, repair, upgrade or clean install.

    I hope this information helps.
