  I did it!  I did everything by myself, with a little help of Julianne Kost!  Thank you, Julianne.  You're really a wonder woman.  No thank you 57 people who read this post on the forum.  But if one person reads this and it saves some time, then this time will have been worthwhile.

  My main computer crashed and Windows must be reinstalled as new factory condition which means that allll software should be reinstalled.  Good news, it of that I had saved important files off my old C drive and had a doc with all my product inside keys.  I have re-installed LR, but first, he could not see one of the photos.  Yesterday I got this task performed using an order catalog import, but I must have chosen the wrong catalog.  Today, I watched the tutorial of Julianne on Lightroom backups and found that indeed there is a path where LR tells you where is stored the magic catalogue and I got it in my old folder.  I looked under C/Windows.old/Users/Carol/MyPictures/Lightroom and there is - a file called Lightroom Catalog.lrcat.  Went to import another catalogue and chose this one and waited very long.  Finally, all my collections arose, all the flags, the rankings, the kinds, presets, etc are here.  It's magic.

  I went through and looked at the structures of directories on disks and backup drives use.
  Back up important files, folders, catalogues...
  Then ran 5.7.1 and CC

  There was a double set of folders a level to the top of the catalog of work
  D:/images/2015Sports (double)

  I'm not entirely sure why they are there in /Pictures/ because the backups are in the below sub directory structure and I put all working catalog directories in 'Lightroom' is a unique place for backup/archiving).

  The measure of consumption currently does not to lost or missed collections however program Pressures allow 5% error lost collections or failures or in the usage meter camera which means there may be up to 30-35 collections failed during the month without the need for corrective action.

• CryptUnprotectData error with Flickr

  I was able to download successfully on Flickr using Lightroom in the past, but when I tried it today, I got the error CryptUnprotectData in Lightroom. I installed yesterday to LR 4.4 and use Windows 7 64 - bit OS.

  When I tried to reauthorize on Flickr, I received this message:

  Oops! Flickr does not recognize 'oauth_token' tent to use this application.

  An external application has requested your login and permission to perform certain actions on your behalf, but failed to include all the necessary data.

  You don't really need to know what that means, except that you cannot use the application until this issue is resolved. (It is a third-party vendor issue, is not a problem of Flickr).

  Any ideas on what this means and how I can fix this problem?

  My mother had the same problem but I found a way to fix it:

  (1) close to Lightroom.

  (2) open C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences

  Note: If you do not see "AppData" you need to show hidden files by choosing to organize > folder and search (at the top of the file browser window), options and then click the view tab, choose the option "Show hidden files, folders or car" and then click OK.

  (3) in this folder, you should find a file called "Lightroom 4 preferences."

  (4) drag this file to the desktop, but leave this window open.

  Note: You might also want to make a copy of this file somewhere else at that time just in case you're wrong.

  (5) open Lightroom. Close the intro thingee. You now have a Lightroom costs, probably with a few missing Collections. Don't panic!

  6) go through the Flickr setup and approval process.

  (7) once you are authorizaed close Lightroom.

  (8) in the window of the preferences folder that you opened before you should see a new file preferably created. This opens up in Notepad (you may need to use open with, or select the program by default like Notepad, if prompted).

  (9) find two long lines of text similar to the following:

  ["pw_pw_com.adobe.lightroom.export.flickr_com.adobe.lightroom.export.flickr_123456789@N05_oa uth_token" "] ="ABCD1234567890BigStringOfRandomLettersAndNumbers. "

  ["pw_pw_com.adobe.lightroom.export.flickr_com.adobe.lightroom.export.flickr_123456789@N05_oauth_token_secret'" "] ="ABCD1234567890BigStringOfRandomLettersAndNumbers. "

  (10) select and copy these lines.

  (11) close the file and open the original on your desktop.

  (12) see the above two lines and delete them and paste the copied text.

  (13) to save the file.

  (14) copies the file back to the folder Preferences window, and then choose to replace the file. \

  15) open Lightroom, and with a little luck it should all be back to normal again! Phew!

  Note: You will be able to save a few steps just open the preferences file (without copying), delete these two lines, save, then open Lightroom and try again to authroize. But I did not test whether it works properly.

  I have a project in Illustrator CS5 with images in different folders.

  Is it possible to make a "pack and go" to give printing, I use the original and graphic illustrator files in a single folder?

  I know I can create a high quality PDF of the brochure, but then there will be a white around the brochure when border that they print. The images used in the brochure to extend beyond the edge and I want to avoid the issue of the white border.

  So, what is the best way to transfer my Illustrator project for them?

  I'm trying to avoid having to search all the graphics and put them in a single folder. Is this my only option?

• Why can't I export photos in my collections folder PScc even if there is no '?' showing the files are missing?

  I'm new to LR. I fell 165 photos in a collection, developed a bunch of them in LR and now wish to export some PS 2015cc but when I try to do a right click to open in PS it is grayed out in unauthorized function. There is no '?' to indicate that the files are missing. I find the original files on my hard drive and they are still there.  I have no problem to export to browser images or other files in the Collections. I noted that these 165 photos is not found in LR in navigation in their original as the disk file hard (do not know if this is normal once pictures is added to a collection). I tried to synchronize the file on the hard disk in the browser, but it shows no pictures to move. I don't remember how I put the first photos in this collection originally but now wonder if I've set up wrong in the first place, but I can't spend a some of them out of this collection file without this poop place "all selected files are missing. No file cannot be moved. I have watched many videos and read lots and lots of tutorials and nothing has solved this dilemma. I can't solve this problem on mine, any help would be appreciated!

  In the LR library, go to the files Panel and find the right folder with thumbnails. Then right-click (Ctrl-click) on the name of the folder and choose "Update folder location"

  Navigate to the folder on your hard drive or external hard drive, and then choose the folder where the pictures are stored.

  LR should automatically update the links to the catalog.

  Aare move you or rename the pictures or folders having a collection? Bridge is a file browser, not an asset manager, so everything you do have an impact on the file names and locations can invalidate the elements stored in a collection.

  Hi cjohnm,

  You can use the 5 Lightroom Catalog and improve it in Lightroom 6, therefor all folders and collections will be identical in both version.

  Open the Lightroom all holding the key Alt/Opt and select only the 5 Lightroom Catalog and it will switch to it.

• Export a collection of catalog and import into the catalog of my work on my iMac, color labels are missing.

  During my project for my photography class, I have to shoot on site and edit the best photos with the model, on my MacBook. At home on my MacBook I export the collection newly created to a catalog (including negative files), copy the directory with the catalogue all the other files over the network and import the catalog into my standard catalog on my iMac. On my iMac, all the imported photos color labels went into my standard catalog, and very strange, color labels have also disappeared when I open the catalogue exported (and copied) on my iMac. Did I miss something?

  I don't think it's something to do with the copy over a network.

  My guess is that you have to look at metadata > color label set. Try to compare the settings on both computers. If they are different, a computer do not know what the other means red, yellow etc.
