Missing dashboard after the upgrade to el capitan

I just upgraded to OS Capitan and now my dashboard is absent.  The hot corner doesn't work.  the other active corners work.  I have them turned off and reset them, all the correct things are made, but the dashboard with the weather, calculator, gizmo of conversion bugs are all gone.

Have you tried with 3 fingers kick right on Trackpad?

  • Partition missing Bootcamp after the upgrade to EL CAPITAN

    Hello

Finally decided to upgrade MAVERICKS to EL CAPITAN.

Unfortunately, I was not checking the compatibility of Bootcamp with Windows 7 running on it.

After upgrade, only the OSX partition is visible (hold ALT key at startup).

The boot partition on board still shows the Bootcamp partition, but I can't find/start with that.

Read a few threads, it seems that EL CAPITAN using a BIOS that is more recent (EFI?) and Bootcamp + Win7 would require always old BIOS (MBR?)?

I decided to use a Timecapsule backup back the MAVERICKS - which worked well.

However, the Bootcamp partition is always considered to be NON-BOOTABLE.

    Now I'm out of ideas.

Can someone help me so that I can start over the Windows, upgrade to Win10 image and finish the job?

    Thank you

After the upgrade to El Capitan 10.11.5 shift, Alt and command of my keyboard keys started to act arbitrarily, they are suspended and do not work properly (I already tried several keyboards and is not Firefox or Chrome). This behavior is exacerbated in Illustrator CC, but also affect all programs and even my office. It drives me crazy, does anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Mi IMac is a 27-inch, late 2013, 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5, and use a Wacom Intuos Pro.

Could possibly be interfering with the entry Wacom drivers.

Start safe mode and see if there are still have the problem there. Safe mode is slow and some things do not work, but it prevents some third-party boot loading software. If your keyboard works properly in Mode without fail, this would imply that some third-party software is causing the problem. If so, check the updates.

It also takes more time to start because the BONE is clean some system caches that can also help.

  • After the upgrade to El Capitan, my iMac is very slow.

I've recently upgraded to El Capitan 10.11.3 on my iMac (Mid2011). I have a cyber-security ESET Pro installed 6.1.12.0. After the upgrade I have trouble with the speed of the m/c and the startup takes a lot of time. I can't use my Photos and export pictures to google reader. I tried to disable the antivirus change, not much. Thanks in advance for any help.

Better to uninstall completely any anti-virus protection and all the apps 'cleaner '.

most people here will agree that there is no need of these

also make sure you have enough RAM 4 GB is really minimal.

and look for updates for third-party applications that you have installed.

  • After the upgrade to El Capitan cannot insert CD/DVD in external drive

    Hello

I have a Macbook Pro (mid-2014 retina) and I have this problem since I upgraded to OS El Capitan. Now I have the last 10.11.5.

I can't insert a CD/DVD in the external DVD drive. It gets stuck at the end when it is like 80% already.

I searched on the web before and there was a workaround solution that you put the CD in and reboot and it would work and it is indeed, but it's a pain that every time I work on the Macbook and in the middle of something and I want to insert a CD that I have to close everything and restart to get the disc inside!

Once I do that, it works fine and I can eject and insert it again normally, but the first time I have to restart first, and since it's an external drive, I have connected it all the time, so whenever I connect it, I have to redo this same process.

I was hoping with the last update that this problem could have been resolved for me obviously it's a software problem because it came with the upgrade to El Capitan, I've improved in later, but still problem is there. I hope that someone would have reached a permanent solution for this and I would be really grateful to know it.

    Thank you!

    Sally

  • my wireless keyboard does not work after the upgrade to El Capitan

I have a wireless trackpad, keyboard, and mouse connected to the iMac of 2013. Everything works fine until I upgraded to El Capitan a few weeks ago. Whenever I wake the system from standby mode, I am unable my password key using the keyboard. The keyboard no longer respond or begin typing the characters on his own.

So I did a little research on the Internet and discovered by turning off the wireless trackpad will solve the problem. So I tried and yes it works. But it also means that I have to turn off my trackpad whenever I need to connect using my keyboard, which is not the best solution. And my keyboard and trackpad have always been placed side by side, works perfectly well until this upgrade of the OS.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

    Thank you

Have you tried to remove the keyboard and the trackpad of Bluetooth devices in the bar of Manu. Then allowing them to be discovered again.

(You may need to hold down option when you select Bluetooth)

  • Missing Bootcamp after the update to El Capitan

Threre was a 100 GB bootcamp partition and a 400GO OSX partition before update Mountain Lion to El Capitan.

quick search of TestDisk, we get:

Impossible to find all entries containing the SVI. Is there hope?

Watch disk utility another partition? This partition installed Windows, and if so, it is no longer start?

Looks like it shows that your hard drive is partitioned because it shows the scheme of 500 GB partition and then only 400 GB for Mac HD. Shows also the 40 GB of data to Microsoft.

  • After the upgrade to el capitan, cannot print Canon mp970

Upgrade to El capitan in snow leopard, and now I can't print from my Canon mp970. I went to the site Web of Canon for a printer driver is compatible with the new operating system - found nothing. Found some threads on Apple support community and found a suggestion that recommended to download and install the Gutenprint (CUPS + Gutenprint v5.2.11 - simplified pre2) software. I did that and removed the driver from Canon, but still cannot print. The message I get from the printer is: 'you need to install the software to use this printer. " To install the software, choose App Store... from the Apple menu. If the software for your printer is not available in the App Store..., contact the manufacturer of your printer. »

Any suggestions on what to try next?

    Hi Dellis46

I met the same problem and tried several things before finding the solution for the print job. You must install the drivers 'old' Mountain Lion. They still do the job.

    Go to: http://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctio nals/inkjet/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp970.aspx?type=drivers&driverdetailid=tcm:13-833845&os=OS%20X%2010.8%20 (mountain % 20Lion) & language = EN

Download the .dmg package and open it. Dubbel click .dmg package and follow the instructions. Connect your printer by a usb cable and turn on the printer. If not now, it won't work!

Then, go to the apple/menu logo and choose Preferences system - open printers & scanners - click on the button "+" under and on the left side.

If the printer is on and the installation of the finished, .dmg package you should be able to see in a new menu 'Add printer' one or more printers. Add one you need. If your mac is connected to the local network you will see a usb and printer of netwerk MP970 canon MP970 canon (network printer takes a while to appear), including its network address. Add the two printers and name them differently to avoid confusion.

    Now everything should work.

It is for the printer. I can't understand how making the scanner works. Run the .dmg package for the scanner is not operate :-)

    If someone is tried: http://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/products/fax__multifunctio (mountain % 20Lion) nals/inkjet/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp970.aspx?type=drivers&driverdetailid=tcm:13-966569&os=OS%20X%2010.8%20 & language = EN

I'd be more than grateful to the person who in fact occur...

    See you soon!

  • How can I get CS6, esp. of Photoshop, to run correctly after the upgrade to El Capitan?

I upgraded to El Capitan and had the weirdness in all CS 6 applications, but Photoshop 6 is the worst. It barely runs. What I can do. If I need to reinstall, how can I do that when I don't have the disks - I had download applications like Adobe stopped providing disks when I bought the upgrade to 6.

I think you should contact Adobe directly thereon, unless a member of the staff of Adobe here can answer.

(I don't think you need to wipe your hard drive clean, you can uninstall the creative cloud app.)

  • After the upgrade to El Capitan I can't write on the external hard drive to NTFS format more

I have an external hard drive formatted in NTFS, I used some Mavericks and could read and write on it without problem, after I installed El Capitan today I can't do more, not this external hard drive is read-only. The problem is that it is full of my data and I can't just format as journaled. What I can do and why it worked fine before?

You need to upgrade or replace the software you used to write on NTFS volumes and should put a copy of your data to a second drive in case one you have fails for any reason unrelated.
