Missing photo gallery images

Lost all the photos in the photo library caused by a virus.  Cannot find 'pathway' to them.  When I type pictures etc just got a message you need to find the path and library etc. is empty...

I tried to 'restore '.  In addition, downloaded "paralogic fix it site?  then got rid of him because he does not deliver as promised, but it is always popping up a file called now "file cure. ???  So every time something does not open a screen with paralogic even if it has been uninstalled... Thanks for the help... Angelfire

Looks like a complicated situation. Are you running Vista?

Sorry... I'm not familiar with paralogic.

When you say that you tried to restore... do you mean the system restore?
What happened when you tried? A you run in Mode safe?

How can I move picture in "my pictures" to a tag [2007] in Photo Gallery?

    Hi Michaelthomson,

You can apply tags in a variety of ways to help you organize and find your pictures and videos. You can add tags when you first add a photo or video to your collection, or you can select a photo or several photos to the tag at any time.

Alternatively, you can mark images by using the details pane. You can open the details pane to display information based on a photo or video, including the file name, date taken, evaluation and other information. You can change most of these information by clicking just typing.

To add tags and captions to photos and videos

    1. Open Windows Live Photo Gallery.
    2. Double-click the photo or video you want to tag.
    3. In the details pane, click add descriptive keywords, Add people tags or Add caption.
    4. Add tags and captions.
    5. Click back to Gallery to save your labels and legends and to return to the gallery.

If you have several photos and similar videos, you can add tags to each of them at the same time. Select the photos and videos that you want to mark, click Add keywordsand add tags. The tags will be displayed in the pane under assigned to allinformation.

You will need to copy and paste or insert the picture on a document in an office program, or in Works Task Launcher program.

And you need to resize the photo so it will be good within the margins of papers, that's all you can do in wlpg.

  • How to import only SOME images from my digital camera to the windows live photo gallery.

    Hello

You can not in Windows Photo Gallery. Some camera manufacturer provide utilities for importing images that can
have more features. There are also a few 3rd party utlities that can help - use Bing or Google.

"Why I can't choose the pictures to import? ."

Because Windows detects your newest pictures and doesn't matter the duplicate versions of the old photos that you've already copied to your computer, it is now easy to import your photos into the folder of photos in a single step. In addition, we recommend that you consult your pictures in Photo Gallery, where large previews make it easy to decide which newly imported imported pictures to delete from your computer. »

Windows detects your images and your most recent videos and is not a duplicate of the old photos or video versions that you have already copied to your computer, so you can import your pictures and videos in a single step. You can then view and organize your photos in the photo library. For more information on the management and organization of photos in the photo library, see Managing your photos. • I can't put my wallpaper with an image of Windows Live Photo gallery.

I am currently using Windows XP sp3, and whenbever I'm trying to set my wallpaper with an image of Windows Live Photo Gallery, the image will be there for a few minutes then goes to blue screen. I can not change to any other image from those available or set it to any other image from the photo gallery.  I tried to do a system restore and my old picrure Office will be there, but whenever I try to change to another is the same thing. Is there anyone that cn offers a solution to this problem?

I had the same problem and just think about it. The image must be saved in the folder "my pictures." Right-click of your screen and go down to "Properties" there, press the 'Desktop' tab and click on the 'Browse' button and select your image in the menu. After you have finished click the 'Settings' tab and click on the "Advanced" button, which will bring up a new window, under the section "compatibility, select the"restart the computer before applying the new display settings' option. " Apply then hit and your image should appear as background.

  • Windows Photo Gallery does not save the edited images.

I have problems editing contrast and red-eye with Windows Photo Gallery.  I get rid of the red eye and change the brightness, close gallery and get an error message "an error prevents photo library to save this image."  The image isn't 'read only', it is a jpeg file, and I am the owner/user.  I edited many other images, but now it restricts me to do these as well as a few others that I've ever edit.  Any ideas on what's going on?

    Hello sjleite,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Community Forum.

If you encounter problems, saving images edited when you could before, I would ask

If you have installed the 3rd party software that may interfere with the Windows Photo Gallery.

    (1) If you have a third Party photo editing software, try removing it and see if that doesn't

    correct your problem.

    (2) other forums, I found several mentions to be a problem with a corrupted author field. Look in the file properties Details page. You can get the properties on the photo in question, scroll to the right section of author and origin and remove characters. Select apply and close the file. If the field of copyright has no characters to remove, try adding a few characters and then delete them.

    (3) the last thing to try is to check the permission on the Windows Photo Gallery.

Go at the beginning and list programs. Right-click on the icon of photo gallery windows live and go to properties. Select tab security put highlight the Everyone group, click the button change. Put a control under all permissions allow. Then do the same for the users group. Click on apply or OK.

If please post again and let us know if these suggestions helped solve your problem or if you need further assistance.

    Sincerely,

  • Photo Gallery can't save the edited images

My Gallery of photos will not save modified pictures.  He did it when I got the computer back in the spring.  I installed Kodak EasyShare software after that and it seems that is about the time when the problem started in the photo gallery.  What options will I get solve this without doing a system restore?  What are the negative aspects of restoring my computer?  Thank you very much!  I don't really know anything about computers.

    Hi computer_illiterate,

If you are experiencing problems saving images edited when you could before, I recommend you to uninstall the Kodak software and check if you are able to save the images.

  • Image reverses from positive to negative when printing from Windows Photo Gallery

When I try to print directly from the photo gallery in the overview page positive image flashes until shortly before the reversal to the negative and I see nothing in the preferences of the printer (Canon iP4500) to remedy this.

The effect occurs only on jpg that were downloaded from my own camera - other jpg is OK.

I have no problem with the same images when printing in Photoshop.

    Hi bigfritz,

Welcome to the Microsoft answers community site.

Different types of devices tend to possess the capabilities and features of different color. Displays, for example, cannot show the same color scheme that can reproduce a printer. It is because of the fundamentally different processes that each device used to produce color content. Scanners and cameras have different color characteristics. Even different programs sometimes interpret and process colors differently. Without a consistent color management system, the same image can look different on each of these devices. The appearance of the content of the color depends also on the viewing conditions (for example, ambient lighting). This is because the human eye adapts differently to different conditions, even when you view the same image.

Thus, the color management manages relationships within color content so that an acceptable appearance can be achieved on different devices with different color and in conditions of display capabilities. This requires color management systems to control the relationship between the characteristics of the device and viewing conditions to produce acceptable results.

Color profiles are usually added automatically during the installation of new devices. Color profiles can also be added by color management tools, such as devices of calibration for the monitors. As a result, it is likely that there are already profiles for your devices.

However, if you need to install a new profile, follow these steps:

1: open management the colors by clicking on the Start button, clicking Control Panel, hardware and sound, and then clicking color management.
2: click on the devices tab.
3: in the list of devices, select the color device that you want to associate with one or more color profiles.
4: select the use my settings for this device check box, and then click Add.
5: you should see a Source to sRGB space. In the print profile you must now select the barrel profile that fits the study. You should see these choices for Canon paper.

    Canon IP4500 series GL2
    Canon IP4500 series GL3
    Canon IP4500 series MP2
    Canon IP4500 series PR1
    Canon IP4500 series PR2
    Canon IP4500 series PR3
    Canon IP4500 series SP2
    Canon IP4500 series SP3

6: these correspond to specific types of paper Canon - PR > GL, Pro Photo paper > iced, MP > Matte
7: then go in / intensity of the color and choose the manual Option. Click on Set and in respect of the Correction colors choose None.

For more information, see Color settings management: frequently asked questions

Let me know if it works. Good luck!

    Hope this information is useful.

    Thank you and best regards,
