  • Is a version ARMv6 of the newest version of Firefox 4 Mobile (not the night compilation of Fennec) already developing or planning?

I own a HTC Wildfire, and I think that it's really a shame that Firefox 4 Mobile is not for phones with a processor ARMv6 out yet, only for ARMv7 processors. I'd like to try the new version of the mobile version of Firefox, because I see a lot of improvements since the Fennec.

So I was wondering if Mozilla is already developing Firefox 4 for ARMv6 phones. This is a large number of phones, so I don't think that they should be ignored.

    Thanks in advance,

  • Is there a version of Firefox for iOS 10.10?

When I download FF it does not allow me to put in applications, then disappears

Firefox from mozilla.org is reserved for the desktop on Windows, Linux and Mac OS x 10.6 +. The mobile operating system only is Android that you get from the Google game.

There is no version of Firefox for iOS due to Apple restrictions on what browser and JavaScript engines can be used. Mozilla is looking for a browser of sorts for iOS however will not have the same Gecko and JavaScript engines that Firefox uses due to Apple restrictions.

  • I'm having a problem to display YouTube videos in the latest version of Firefox.

I'm on Firefox 34.0 on a Windows 7 laptop. Until very recently, I had no trouble viewing videos on YouTube. I would conclude "youtube.com" the address of the browser and it would take me to http://youtube.com. But now need me to 'http://m.youtube.com/?', which seems to be a mobile YouTube Player. And when I try to open a video, here, I get this message:

"Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (rtsp) is not associated with any program or is not allowed in this context".

It started right after the latest version of Firefox downloaded on my computer. Why can't I access the normal version of Windows of YouTube anymore?

This problem has been fixed. I restarted my laptop after cleaning my Firefox cache and remove all cookies. Once my laptop has rebooted, I opened Firefox and now I can access YouTube regular site, not the mobile site.

  • In the new version of Firefox 29.0.1 removed the ability to move the right side navigation buttons. Restored version of Firefox 28.

I always work hard and with Firefox. My customization assuming that it is transferred always organize buttons back and forward in the navigation bar on the right side which was convenient for a quick job. In the new version of Firefox 29.0.1 deleted the possibility of moving the navigation on the right side buttons... Firefox is not flexible enough for the user. Really sorry. Restored version of Firefox 28. More frequent to not remove the flexible adjustment of the navigation keys. Thank you.

28 Firefox has security flaws. It is not safe to use.

You can move the navigation buttons in Firefox 29 if you install an add-on.

    1. Classic restaurateur theme installation and restart Firefox when prompted.
    2. Open the modules (Ctrl + Shift + A Manager; Mac: Command + shift + A), then the Extensions category.
    3. Beside the classical restaurant theme, click on the Options button.
    4. On the main tab, make sure 'Mobile back-forward button' is checked. Close the options window when finished.
    5. Right-click on a zone empty of the tab bar and select Customize.
    6. Drag the previous/next buttons wherever you want.
    7. Click the Customize the output at the bottom right button when finished.

Hi jhughey, Tyler is not actually know what version you have, but your Firefox provides this information to Web sites on itself:

    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0

This is called the sites use it for statistical purposes and user agent string and sometimes adapt pages to your browser (for example, desktop, mobile, Windows, Mac, IE, no IE, etc.).

  • Mobile version of a Web site on my laptop

I ran malwarebytes last night and removed a bunch of "registry errors. Today, one of the websites that I use frequently; fodors.com, presents itself in Firefox as the mobile version. This is the only site that seems to appear like a mobile version and the mobile version is not displayed when I try it in Internet Explorer. Any suggestions?

Hi eyalnow, what I see in Firefox, Chrome, and Firefox Mobile is a sensitive provision which varies based on the width. If you are looking for in your stylesheet (http://eyalnow.com/eyalnow/wp-content.../style.css) 1260, you can see the media query which allows to reverse the provision to a width of document 1260px or more.

Its simple, but the measure of the width of the page (window.innerWidth) in Firefox 22 and later is different than in previous versions because it is adjusted depending on the zoom level, as part of Firefox becomes an application "DPI-compatible". 1260 physical monitor pixels will be indicated as a lower number if your zoom level is greater than 100%. For example, if the zoom level is 125%, it is reported as 1050 pixels in CSS layout.

If you zoom up and down on the next page of the piece, you can see how this new math: http://dev.jeffersonscher.com/resolution.html

Then... If you look at your site at a high zoom level, and you want the layout "desktop", what is the solution? One possibility is to let the user to reduce the zoom level if they find the most compact layout is too large for comfortable reading. Another possibility is to experiment with additional variables to refine reactive behavior. I don't have enough experience to suggest how you could do.

  • Can I download and install the pre - ICS, Office full version of firefox to use as my browser with my lapdock (webtop mode)?

I just bought a lapdock for use with my droid 4 for work. Long story, but I need access to the internet to do my job, and there is nothing here. I thought this would be a great workaround solution. However, with the update of the ICS, the my phone webtop mode is not the full desktop firefox used the old operating system. The mobile firefox works well, but it is not completely compatible with the sites I need to work.

So, basically, I'm looking for a way to use the version of firefox which has been presented in the phones motorola (maybe others too) webtop mode and has been web enabled to mimic a full laptop computer experience.

Does anyone know if there is a way to download the old firefox office webtop android on my phone that I could use in my app drawer whenever I'm clinging to my lapdock? This would make my life a million times easier - and is the main selling point of buying me the dock in the first place. I hope someone has a way for me to achieve. Thank you!

Thanks for the info, virtualsattva. It's logical. Disappointing, but it makes sense.

  • Why are there so many versions of Firefox in the last 6 months?

    Firefox 9.0 publication December 2011
    10.0 Firefox released January 2012
    Firefox 11.0 released March 2012
    Firefox 12.0 released April 2012
    Firefox 13.0 released June 2012

Where are the notes? I see some of the differences between the versions, but the speed at which they are distributed has me suspicious.

Mozilla is passed to a cycle of "Quick release" with the release of Firefox 4 and 5. This means that every 6 months, a new version of Firefox comes in the pipeline. https://wiki.Mozilla.org/RapidRelease http://blog.lizardwrangler.com/2011/08/25/rapid-release-process/.

Basically, what that means in practice for users is every 6 weeks, bug fixes, new features, improvements, etc. that are ready for Firefox are released. If a feature is not ready, it is held until the next version. Instead of having to wait a year or more between updates (such as 3.6 to 4.0) containing new web technologies, performance enhancements, etc. New features are ready for users much more quickly.

If you wish to view the release notes, you can go to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/, click the Desktop tab (because it most likely will be showing the mobile tab right now). Then click on "What's New". This will take you to a page like http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/13.0.1/releasenotes/

  • Mobile synchronization of Firefox Aurora

I can't find a tab preference nor a place to click on "sync" or to pair a device on my mobile version on Aurora in order to get the code to pair it to my computer.

mbrubeck wrote: the version of Firefox on the Aurora channel has a new user interface that we are writing from scratch. Not all the features of previous versions have been re-implemented again, but we are working on them.

Trial versions of Firefox on the Aurora development channel (currently in the 11.0aform 2) becomes day patches almost daily with sometimes gaps between the two if there is no checkins on the Aurora channel at the time. Know what build date you type on: in the address bar (address). So along the way, he can get back features or new

    An update from here

The code for Firefox Sync has landed but is not yet enabled in the native UI; the sync developers hope to enable it in the next week or so. That's the last major piece that's missing, though there are also lots of smaller things that still need to get fixed before we can ship this thing.

  • I use two different versions of Firefox for two different employers - how to install the new version without losing an old?

An employer requires that I use Firefox 3. The other requires that I use the most recent version. How to install a new version of Firefox to another path without overwriting the old version?

The best way to have a version be an installation of Firefox Portable. The mobile facility is autonomous and will not affect your installation of Firefox "ordinary".

    http://PortableApps.com/apps/Internet/firefox_portable

Otherwise, you will need to set up a profile specifically for version 2 and make sure the correct profile is launched in each version.

    http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/managing+profiles

    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Shortcut_to_a_specific_profile

Overall, you are probably best to replace your current version of Firefox 3.6.25 with Portable Apps - http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy36 - version and install Firefox 9.0.1 that your installation "regular".
