Modification of the mapping of drives in my system

Dear Sir, please help me, I could not install the latest version, he said that error please change the mapping G Drive, how can I change the Gdrive Cdrive drive mapping?

OK, a new message for me, but probably the same reason as other people having similar problems.

This can happen if you move one of your personal folders from Windows to an external drive or USB key, and then delete. This happens more often if someone dragged my images on an external drive. This isn't making a copy, but make a permanent change to the Windows installation.

This does not mean that Adobe Reader wants to install to G:. It means to check on the file my images (for some reason any).

The fastest solution is usually to put back the original disc that you have used and drag the folder again.

If you can't find it, while adding anything that becomes G: usually will allow installation complete, but Windows will remain broken and this will happen again.

  • The directory of the user on the mapped network drive

I want to move my user directory C:\Users\Edwin to a mapped network drive E: (i.e. mapped from a network share \\\\192.168.22.9\share ).

The difficult part is to move the directory of the user himself. I found 2 possible solutions, which are not applicable for me due to my use of a network drive.

    1. Move C:\Users\Edwin" to "E:\Users\Edwin , and then use a symbolic link of junction ( mklink -J ) to post a link to C:\Users\Edwin .

This does not work for me because I can't create a symbolic link to a directory on a non-local drive junction.

    2. Changing the value of registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\ProfilesDirectory of %SystemDrive%\Users to E:\Users before you create the user "Edwin".

Later, when the "Edwin" user first connects, the profile will be in E:\Users\Edwin .

The problem is that I met a problem of the egg and the hen.

When you first login as a user 'Edwin' profile will be created in E: . However, at the moment I first login, the mapped network drive E: is not there.

I tried without success to the following:

    1. Create a drive mapped persistent administrator. Did not work. The mapped drive is only visible to the administrator user.

    2. Create a mapped drive persistent using the rights system (using PsExec -s ). Did not work. The mapped drive is not 'owned' by anyone, not even the current administrator user.

    3. Create a drive mapped persistent by using the user newly created by Edwin, without opening a session as Edwin again (using the PsExec once again). Did not work. It is possible to create a mapped drive under a different name, once I tried to do it with persistence ( /persistent:yes ), I get a Access is Denied error.

No idea how this can be done? Or is it it even can be done at all?

  • Slow connection to the mapped network drive

    Here's my situation.

We have 10 workstations, all on the same, all computers running windows 8.

We have 1 router, 1 switch and a SIN.

9 computers can access our NAS with ease via the network of navigation or the mapped network drives.  The 10th computer cannot even open the network folder, or the network mapped drives when they appear she clicks 'This PC' falling down.  In fact, the PC 'that' fall down, never actually opens.  The green bar loads the top of the page, but never actually opens.  The network folder, does not yet appear.

She is able to ping the NAS very well (as well as other machines) and that it can access the NAS by opening a program (word or excel for example) and then opening a folder and navigation, but it is obviously very embarrassing.

    What gives?

Why can she access the NAS in a program like Word or Excel, but not of navigation?

  • Win 7 search - works does not on the mapped network drive

    Hi all

I saw that a lot of people have had problems with W7 search on indexed locations, but I have problems with research on a mapped network drive.

I'm looking for a file with the word "work" in the name of the file (file Excel) and I can see it in Explorer but research doesn't seem to be able to find it. I have not indexed location and only want it is a network drive and is big enough and I rarely research it so what I want to search Windows to do is trawl in the files at this location and tell me when it finds one that matches my search criteria. I don't like how long it takes, just that it works reliably, otherwise I can't use it at all...

Any ideas as to why it cannot find the file? Or if someone can tell me what happened to search Assistant? He's been very good to do this simple task...

    Thank you very much

    Thinqer.

I had the same problem, but I found that when I typed in the search box and clicked on the "see more results", I could click on custom and define which drive I wanted it looks without having to be indexed. It took a while for her to run, but he has finally found the file I was looking for.

  • Links with the mapped network drives

CF is allowed to access a mapped drive and I use cfdirectory to list all the files in the folders that I want to, but why I try to make a link to them, SEE said that it cannot find the file. When I try to go just the mapped drive in an IE window, I have to put in a name of user and password, but cfdirectory isn't that kind of attributes. My sysadmin suggests that I have download the necessary files on the CF server, I can with cffile action = "copy", but I prefer to keep everything on the mapped drive.

    Any suggestions? Thank you!

How does the file returned from the tag relate to the
    web root directory of \\myserver.mydomain.com\?

I suspect you may need some type of mapping|virtual directory|symbolic
link here depending on what flavor of OS and Web Server you are utilizing.

The other issue could be a difference in permissions between the user
ColdFusion runs under which is used to read the directory with

  • Install old HDD to the pc with the new HARD drive and operating system different?

Hi, I recently ripped my old laptop that no longer works, after buying a newer laptop 4 years ago. The new laptop has Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit installed while the old machine had Windows Vista installed. I want to put the old HDD in my new machine to extract some files that I want to keep and possibly use this particular drive as a disc of extra storage without having to turn it into a portable device. Would that work or would I meet problems with him? It would be just a plug & play this sort of thing (as the old HDD already has an operating system installed) or the old drive (vista) would cause the new drive (win7) fails at startup?

And sorry if this has already been covered. I searched through the questions asked previously and has not really found a similar job.

You can use your old drive, but you should check that the "Boot order" is the most recent Player listed before the old drive. If need be exit and save your BIOS boot becomes.

    Next

After you have started since the new drive, you may need to take ownership of the files you need to copy.

To take ownership of a file or folder

    1. open Windows Explorer and locate the file or folder you want to take charge.
    2. right click on the file or folder, click Properties, and then click the Security tab.
    3. click on advanced and then click the owner tab.
    4. click on edit and then do one of the following:
To change the owner to a user or group that is not listed, click other users and groups and enter the object name to select (examples), type the name of the user or group and then click OK.

To change the owner to a user or a group is listed in the change owner to box, click the new owner.

    5. (optional) to change the owner of all subcontainers / folders and objects in the tree view, select the Replace owner of subcontainers and objects check box.

Then use 'Disk management' to delete all existing partitions and reformat the old drive.
