Monitor goes to sleep after five Minutes

My Dell desktop computer running Windows 7 32-bit and worked great for a long time.  Now, my monitor falls every five minutes no matter what the power of sleep plan I select or what setting the time, I chose in the power management plan.  I put it to "never" in the three plans, 'Balanced', 'High Performance' or 'Power Saving' I even made a custom power plan and named monitor never sleeps.  I made no changes to my computer.  Just, it started doing this thing last week and no matter what I I can not avoid it, which is aggravating when you watch videos or play games that require no movement of the mouse or keyboard inputs.

My graphics card is a NVIDIA Quadro FX3450.  Large map.  I even tried to disable the NView Desktop Manager.  Nothing changes on or off.  I even went into the bios and checked everything in power options.  I even tried to disconnect one of the Dell monitors I use dual monitor mode.  Doesn't change anything.

Eventually, it could be the Microsoft update in option I downloaded and installed as an optional update a couple of weeks?

I'm stumped on this one and could use other ideas.

Hello

Please contact the Microsoft community

I would suggest some troubleshooting steps check if works or not

1 = update the latest version of the BIOS of your official supplier Web site system
2 - Uninstiall and reinstall all the graphics driver and check
3 = try Exchange another monitor (if you have)
4 = reset All to default power plan
5 = try system restore or recovery, if it is preloaded OS
6 = chipset Driver Update and newer power management

My Satellite P10 automatically goes to sleep after 15 minutes. This is a setting that is controlled by Toshiba or the Console of Toshiba power management settings.

When I change the settings it the system will always standby after 15 minutes. When I go into Control Panel control/Performance and Maintenance/Power Options, it tells me to go to the Toshiba power management to change the settings, but I still see the parameters in grey indicating the standby time of 15 minutes.

    Hello

The fact is that if Toshiba energy saving is installed on the laptop Toshiba, the Microsoft OS power management doesn't work. You must use the Toshiba power saver to change settings.
In power save you will find different modes.
If the power supply is on if you need to change the power mode in the power section. Here, you simply mark the mode full power and click for details.
You can now find mode properties. Select the Power Saver tab.
You will find various controls that are responsible for different functions. Change the settings on the standby system controller.

  • HP 2009v: monitor going to sleep after connecting to a new PC

My parents have an old pc (HP Pavilion g3770l) that runs on windows XP and a relatively old monitor (HP 2009v). They work perfectly fine, but since his Win XP in most applications no longer work and is not fast enough to support new BONE. So I bought a new PC (HP 8200 Elite SFF) with win 7 pro 64-bit installed.

But when I plug in the monitor to the new PC, I get the message "monitor going to sleep" and the monitor turns off. PC turns. (I can hear the windows startup sound etc.). I tried the menu on the screen to change settings etc but it does not allow me to do. It just goes to sleep.

Combination of old monitor old pc still works.

Please help it was supposed to be a Christmas gift.

This unit may have many configurations, but is it possible that there is more to a port monitor (video output) and that the monitor is connected to happens to be inactive?  This can happen if the camera has built-in graphics card and also a video card is installed.

  • Monitor sleep after 5 minutes

    Hello

My monitor has all of a sudden going to sleep after 5 minutes, even if I set it to "never" in my power management. I can't find anywhere where it says go to sleep in 5 minutes. If anyone can help?

    Kind regards

    KK

In addition to power management, check the settings of the screen saver.  Right click on the desktop and choose personalize, then click screensaver at the bottom right.  Make sure it is set to "none" instead of something like 'black screen '.

In addition, even if you have the timeout set to never monitor in power management, also check the setting "change when the computer sleeps" on the left side.

  • Monitor goes into Sleep Mode immediately after the connection to the motherboard

    Hi all

    My problem is like this.

I have a desktop crt monitor. When I give power to it without plugging it into the motherboard, it's showing a message 'no signal' all the time and never goes to sleep mode.

But when I connect it to the motherboard, the monitor goes into sleep mode immediately. When I delete the connection of motherboard once again, it's back mode 'sleep' and saying 'no signal 'again.

Any other monitor works well with this office properly.

This same thing happens when I am trying to connect this monitor to my laptop as an external display device.

    What could be the problem?

    Kind regards

    James

    Hi Ty,.

I suggest that you check the manual of the monitor to check the frequency of the monitor support.

It seems that the monitor is defective because the other monitor works fine.

  • Pavilion P7-1254: monitor goes to sleep

I leave my computer on 24/7.  After several minutes of non-use, the screen goes black and the power button on the monitor HP ha17 turns yellow.  Most of the time, I just have to move the mouse or press the enter keyboard key and the power button on the monitor turns blue and the screen lights up and asks for my sign-in.  On other occasions, after that the monitor went dark and the monitor power button is yellow, no matter how many times I hit Enter or move the mouse, the monitor not turns.  Sometimes, I get a message saying there is no signal and the monitor going to sleep.  I turned on the screen and off and turned the computer on and off several times, but it still does not light.  Then, when he decided to cooperate, the monitor will light up and work normally.  It has been produced for quite some time now (several months).  Any suggestions?  Also, is it possible to adjust the length of the no activity before the screen will Dim?  Thank you.

    Hello @mdh53,

I read your post on how your monitor goes to sleep, and that you are not able to wake your computer from sleep mode back, and I'd be happy to help you in this case!

To find the option to configure your options from the Hibernate mode and watch on your computer, I recommend that you restore the power management on your system to the default settings. This is possible by following the steps below:

Step 1. Click the Start button
Step 2. In the search box, type "Command Prompt"
Step 3. Right click on command prompt

Step 4. Click on run as administrator
Step 5. At the command prompt, type powercfg /restoredefaultschemes and press enter

    reference: http://superuser.com/questions/669571/Windows-8-1-64-bit-power-schemes-gone

In addition, I also suggest following the steps described in this document on hibernation (Windows 8) and troubleshooting of sleep issues. This will help you enable your system to wake mode standby successfully.

In addition to the screen, I provided you with a few steps, you can try below:

Step 1. Unplug the power cord at the back of the screen and the wall
Step 2. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute
Step 3. Plug the power cable in the monitor, and then to the wall outlet
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the factory reset option and select
Step 6. Try a different cable to connect your monitor to your computer

If the steps above did not resolve your issue, you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the problem persists. Please contact our technical support at the 800-474-6836. Hi, what you want to do first is remove the (memory) ram sticks and put back them in. Re-allocation of places your RAM sticks can solve your problem. If you also have a video pci-express agp/pci/or card so you can re seat which as well.

The RAM sticks are borads green circuit that chips on them in sizes of 3-inch 1 in. (approximately). They are kept in that they place in the motherboard by white tabs on both sides.

Try these steps below after reading and see the diagram with the photos on page 7 to 9 from the link below.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c00877796.PDF

    (1) unplug the power cable from the back of the pc, unscrew the screws at the back of the large pc Tower and then remove the side panel (the side of the pc stands out).

    (2) then put the pc on the side, with the open side facing upwards so you can look down in and locate the locations of memory. Don't forget to look for the white tabs holding them places.

    (3) once find you them, they are usually 1, 2, or 4 sticks them to total, to make the next step to each stick, one at a time.

First, push the white paws holding a stick of ram and the ram stick will pop out and you can pull it up towards you. Then everything just put back, push down (not too hard, careful not to damage it or the Board of Directors) and then the white tabs will click in each side. Make sure that you put the lever of ram you out in the same way, don't flit it that it will in a sense.

    (4) after that for all the RAM sticks, check inside the computer to make sure the cables are not loose and connected as they should be and then replace the side panel and the screw and turn on the pc and see what happens.

Here is a guide on how to locate the RAM sticks. I hope this helps.

  • Monitor goes into sleep mode during the installation of Windows 7

Hello, I'm doing a new install of Windows 7 pro on a new SSD. He gets regarding to reset for the second time during the installation, and just before showing the page where you name the computer and configure user accounts, the monitor goes to sleep and won't return. only way to recover is to reset the machine, only to do exactly the same thing again. Anyone know what could be the cause? I used the same disk of windows for many expenses format / install Windows after hardware upgrades in the past and this has never happened before. Can provide the complete specifications of the system if necessary. Help, please!

    Hi Danpedro,

I see that the screen goes into sleep mode, in the last step of installing Windows 7. I'll help you with this problem.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. you have an external display driver card attached to the motherboard?

    3. you format the hard disk during Windows 7 installation?

    Method 1.

Disconnect any external devices and restart the computer to see if it helps complete the installation of Windows 7.

    Method 2.

If you have a driver to attached external display card, then you can disable this external driver in the BIOS and check if that helps complete the installation of Windows 7.

    Warning of the BIOS:

BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • Monitor does not work, and the also.when of keyboard that I turn on my screen a message appears saying monitor going to sleep, then it goes into sleep mode.

monitor going to sleep, cant access windows because I have several times to get this message.

Connect the computer to another monitor. If the problem goes away, replace the original monitor. Make troubleshooting even for the keyboard. If the problems do not go away, you probably have malfunctions in hardware on the computer itself. You can fix yourself:

On tests of hardware failures often alleged swapping parts by parts checked. If you can not do the test yourself and/or are uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). If possible, have all your data backed up before taking the machine into a shop.

    Hi Phil.Ganchev,

Using a laptop or a desktop computer?

The reason for this question is, if you have a plugged AC adapter you must set power accordingly as opposed to laptop settings battery operated.

I suggest you head over to the power settings and create your own power management.

    a. power by clicking on the Start button, open the Options click on the Control Panel, clicking system and security, and then clicking Power Options.

    (b) according to the plan you want to change, click on change plan settings.

    c. on the parameters of change in the plan page, choose "Put the computer to sleep" that you want to use when your computer is running on battery (if applicable) and when it is plugged.
(Change in 5 minutes for the batteries and sector)

  • When my monitor goes to sleep I can't wake him up by clicking on the mouse. I have to restart the computer to see the monitor

When my monitor goes to sleep I can't wake him up by clicking on the mouse. I have to restart the computer to be able to see the screen.  I tried all turned on and on the screen but when I do it says monitor going to sleep

I assume you are using a desktop computer you are referring to the monitor going to sleep rather than the course of PC to sleep.

1 check the monitor power management & the display adapter in Control Panel, Manager of peripheral and during that control you the mouse power management and make sure that it is likely to be used for anything wake up.

2 in case of failure, then check the monitor & display settings of the adapter to control panel, display.

3 check manual site or the monitor stand, so the settings recommended.

4 then check the settings of the Control Panel, power options, change plan settings change advanced power settings.  In particular, if it is a USB mouse, you may disable settings settings USB, USB selective suspend setting.
