  Without seeing your application as a whole, it is difficult to give an exact answer, but there are basically two steps (and many details):

  1. The data that you want to monitor must be accessible or published somehow like being in a global, FGV, event defined by the user, etc.
  
  
  2. Create a VI that a while loop that global readings, FGV or whatever several times. The rate at which you read is based on speed, the value can change.

  That's all - with the exception of all the details that I mentioned earlier.

  You are right. These advanced M & T capabilities are built into the feature DCC 5.1 base. In ACS5.0 a license is required for this feature but not in 5.1 ACS

• Script to keep the monitoring parameters of VM to 'Disable '.

  I'm looking for a way to create a script to keep the monitoring parameters of VM to 'Disable '. Here's my question:

  
  Symantec ApplicationHA requires that the 'Follow-up of the VM' option under VMware HA fixed "VM and Application monitoring. If I set this parameter as already said, all the virtual machines in the cluster gets 'Use the parameters of Cluster' and they are part of the surveillance with risk of unexpected VM resets. So I'm going to select 'Disable' for all virtual machines leaving only a couple of VMs who must actually followed even with a reset the virtual machine.

  Challenge
  

  1. How to get this applies with a script. There are hundreds of virtual machines, I need to adjust the monitoring to disable.
  2. Virtual machines continue to add to the cluster and they get 'use the Cluster setting' default and someone had to keep track of these and follow up on "Disable" the value manually.

  I want to know if there is a way, it can be script to change the setting "VM Monitoring" to "Disable" as well as the new creation of VM.

  0) the name of the folder that contains the virtual machines to keep tracking enabled on

  (1) the name of the cluster whose update settings

  And, looking at the code, it would have a degree more to add in the DasSettings of the specification of the config.  This will only act on the virtual machines for which the settings of the virtual machine for monitoring have been changed in the HA cluster settings, I see.  So, it can act on all the virtual machines you want.

  I saw your other thread at http://communities.vmware.com/message/1858996#1858996, where refer you to the post of Damian Karlson on the (http://damiankarlson.com/2011/01/13/managing-vmware-has-vm-monitoring-powercli/).  Method of Damian to disable monitoring on a VM would be a nice way to do it.  In developing his technique and performing the config for multiple virtual machines, you could do it like:

  I simplified the creation of an object a little and added specifications of configuration of computers all virtual config spec a single cluster, so that just ReconfigureCluster() only once.

  It is important to note that the specifications being created to update the monitoring parameters given VM can have a type of operation of 'Add' or 'change '.  If we changed the parameter a VM in the HA settings for the cluster, it creates an Configuration.DasVmConfig object for this virtual machine.  The functioning of these virtual machines must be 'Edit '.  Otherwise, you have to 'Add '.  See the commented line in the code that deals with this topic.

  If you do not have that correct property creating the specification, you will get an error (in the vSphere client) as the cluster reconfig task tries to complete: "specified parameter was not correct."

  Copy the following code disables tracing for all the virtual machines in the given cluster (adjust the name of cluster variable before you run).  You could exclude the virtual machines that you want to continue to follow (or change in the GUI at will), or run a similar code to allow follow-up again for desire, VMs, or...

  I need to set up some monitors for a server Solaris 10 (server hosting Web for the Application under test) with the help of OLT. Can someone please advise as to what set up I need to access the data of Solaris CPU/memory/vmstat during performance testing?

  Nothing to install. He's completely remotely with ssh or telnet. (ports so standard to consider).
  You need to set up what we call a "virtual agent".
  Create a "monitor" using "Virtual Agent" as a source of data.
  Then, you must configure your system remotely and in particular to set up the guest returned when you connect with a given user (try manually with plink first).
  Then you can try the predefined settings that are not so good in my opinion. So better to create your own parameters. (find the good unix command line to retrieve the necessary information and use regular expressions to get the value of the output.

  Pls first of all, you need to update plink.exe in the c:\oracleats directory (don't remember where) by downloading a newer version on the internet.

  I'm sure this isn't clear at all, but with documentation, google & some effort, you should find the solution.

• ACS 5 - question about monitoring and report

  Hello world.

  I have one primary-secondary drawing using DCC 5, and everything works smootlhy. I have some doubts and did some research, but nothing was clear enough on this subject:

  -Why am I not able to access the visualizer reports & surveillance of my secondary box? When I do that, I get redirected to connect to the main box. Is this expected behavior?

  -If Yes, what should I do if my main box breaks down?  Should I manually promote my primary secondary box? Or y at - it a way to allow the two ACS for these newspapers?

  -Another situation: my box main breaks down in the middle of the night and I only notice the morning.  What happens in the newspapers at the moment? Are they lost?

  Hi Victor,

  If you are unable to access the visualizer reports & surveillance in your secondary zone and are rerouted to connect with the main box. This is expected behavior if your backend is defined as collector of newspaper.
  A primary server or one of the secondary servers can function as a logging server. The logging server receives logs of the primary and all secondary servers of the ACS in the deployment.
  You can also configure another server as a Syslog server (ex Syslog target remote server) in addition to the logcollector.

  The newspaper collector failover process is not automated and manual. If your collector journal defined as main server goes down, you can then promote the secondary server in the primary and then manually set as a collector: ACS GUI > System Administration > Configuration > Configuration of logs > Log Collector
  A possible workaround for this problem solution is to assign one of the ACS secondary servers under the supervision and report server according to the Cisco documentation links included below.

  For a situation with main server configured as collector of newspaper is down, registration will be unavailable as a result of this proceeding.

  For db/corruption issues, if you have valid backups before the failure, you would be able to use the rollback feature to have information before the acs services down.

  Yes as suggested by Erick, create Page Global and a region that contains the items to display. To limit these components on the pages you want (i.e. report pages) make the region of page zero (in which the components are created) conditional with:

  Condition Type: Current Page is contained in Expression 1 (delimited list of pages)

  Expression 1: List of pages on which you want to display the area of commas. for example

  1,2,5,10

• Satellite A660-17 t - PC Health Monitor shows the problem with the battery

  I have an A660-17 t I've had since November 2010, I used a good amount, but not always on the battery, I believe that the battery has between 10 and 20 on this charge/discharge cycles.

  I have updated the BIOS to v1.80 when I got the laptop, everything seemed to go well. Recently, in the last 2-3 weeks health monitoring software reports that the battery is in poor health, showing that the capacity is reduced to 40% of the original capacity. I do not believe this like when I work on battery I get several hours of use.

  I have today updated BIOS v1.90, although there is no changelog that I can find, he says just "enhanced features" or similar.

  Is this really a faulty battery, or it is somehow that the software correctly reads the value of the capacity of the battery due to a change in Windows or another change in the system? I don't see how a battery can work for the same amount of time it has always done and actually have a fault.

  Any thoughts? Should I return it to the retailer and report an outage, or is it worth the wait to see if a future update of operating system or driver solves this problem?

• Touch the touch screen moves the cursor appear on another monitor in a multi-monitor for Windows 7 system

  There are three 3 monitors on this system. Two of them are the screens LCD Dell 2407WFP-HC and one is the touchscreen Acer T230H. Dell monitors are connected to a NVIDIA Quadro FX3500 and identify as monitors 1 and 2. The Acer monitor is connected to a NVIDIA GeForce 7600GS and identifies as monitor 3. The system runs Windows 7 Ultimate x 64, with updates. Everything works fine except for the touch screen feature.

  According to the instructions I used the Tablet PC configuration to configure the touch screen. In the installation program, reports monitor 2 Dell incorrectly as having entered touch available and the Acer monitor 3 reports as not having NOT available - also incorrect enter key.

  When I touch the Acer screen, the cursor appears on the monitor Dell 2 and moves according to the movement of my finger on the Acer screen.

  1. Go to the control panel and search for "Touch".
  2. Click on 'The Tablet PC settings'
  3. Click on "Setup"... "right" configure your stylus and touch displays.
  4. Choose "enter." »
  5. Press the 'Enter' key until you see the instructions displayed on your actual touchscreen.  Tap the screen and it will say something like "press ENTER to move to the next step.

  You should now see your contact to events (and mouse) are displayed on the touch screen when you... Well, touch.

• ACS 5.7 - access to tracking and reporting on a secondary server to the primary server

  My organization has an ACS deployment, consisting of three servers. Currently, the primary ACS server is also the newspaper collector. However, Cisco recommends to a secondary server in the log collector.

  I noticed that I have connection on the secondary server and click on "Monitoring and reporting", I am prompted to connect to the main server because that's where newspapers. I guess if the newspaper collector is on the secondary server and I click on "Monitoring and reporting" of the main server, I will ask you to connect to the secondary server.

  Is there a way of not having to connect twice (once to access the web interface and new access reports)? It seems that deployment of ACS should support a kind of function of single sign-on and once you are connected to a server, gives you access to another without having to log in again.

  I know that the Cisco documentation mentions the school be the best practical paper collector, however, which in fact means is that the server acting as collector of newspaper should be not authenticate users.

  If your backend is the collector of newspaper that should be fine, as soon as it's not authenticate users (but secondary responds to this task).

  And related to the shift, that of right, independently on the server to which you connect, once you click on "Monitoring and reporting" you will be redirected to the collector of the newspaper and need to connect in it, unless you are currently on the newspaper collector and click on 'tracking and reports.

  SSO between servers would be a good thing but is not available.
