Calling parameterized reports in Oracle Forms 11g
HelloI wrote a procedure to call reports as
-------------------------------------------------------------
PROCEDURE CALL_REPORT IS
BEGIN
DECLARE
v_report_id Report_Object;
vc_report_job_id VARCHAR2 (100); / * unique id for each report query * /.
vc_rep_status VARCHAR2 (100); / * The report job status * /.
BEGIN
v_report_id: = FIND_REPORT_OBJECT(:global.rep_name);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (v_report_id, REPORT_EXECUTION_MODE, LOT);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (v_report_id, REPORT_COMM_MODE, ASYNCHRONOUS);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (v_report_id, REPORT_DESTYPE, cache);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (v_report_id, REPORT_DESFORMAT, 'HTML');
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (v_report_id, REPORT_SERVER,: global.rep_svr);
vc_report_job_id: = RUN_REPORT_OBJECT (v_report_id);
vc_rep_status: = REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS (vc_report_job_id);
While vc_rep_status IN THE LOOP ("CURRENT", "OPENING_REPORT", "PENDING")
vc_rep_status: = REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS (vc_report_job_id);
END of LOOP / * wait for report to finish * /;
IF vc_rep_status = "FINISHED" THEN
: system.message_level: = 5;
commit_form;
: system.message_level: = 0;
Web.show_document ('/ reports/rwservlet/getjobid ' |)
substr (vc_report_job_id, InStr(vc_report_job_id,'_',-1) + 1) |
Server ='|: global .rep_svr);
ELSIF vc_rep_status NOT IN ('MARKET', 'OPENING_REPORT', 'PENDING') THEN
message (vc_rep_status |) "Report out abandoned"); "
END IF;
END;
END;
-------------------------------------------------
I can use for simple reports (which signals without parameters) as
---------------------------
DECLARE
rep_name VARCHAR2 (15): = "rep_hotels";
BEGIN
: global.rep_name: = rep_name;
CALL_REPORT;
END;
---------------------------
And it works very well. But how to use this in parametarised reports.
I tried like this, procedure like (I did the list of parametere as global id)
-------------------
PROCEDURE CALL_REPORT IS
BEGIN
DECLARE
v_report_id Report_Object;
vc_report_job_id VARCHAR2 (100); / * unique id for each report query * /.
vc_rep_status VARCHAR2 (100); / * The report job status * /.
BEGIN
v_report_id: = FIND_REPORT_OBJECT(:global.rep_name);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (v_report_id, REPORT_EXECUTION_MODE, LOT);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (v_report_id, REPORT_COMM_MODE, ASYNCHRONOUS);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (v_report_id, REPORT_DESTYPE, cache);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (v_report_id, REPORT_DESFORMAT, 'HTML');
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (v_report_id, REPORT_SERVER,: global.rep_svr);
vc_report_job_id: = RUN_REPORT_OBJECT (v_report_id,: global.pl_id);
vc_rep_status: = REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS (vc_report_job_id);
While vc_rep_status IN THE LOOP ("CURRENT", "OPENING_REPORT", "PENDING")
vc_rep_status: = REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS (vc_report_job_id);
END of LOOP / * wait for report to finish * /;
IF vc_rep_status = "FINISHED" THEN
: system.message_level: = 5;
commit_form;
: system.message_level: = 0;
Web.show_document ('/ reports/rwservlet/getjobid ' |)
substr (vc_report_job_id, InStr(vc_report_job_id,'_',-1) + 1) |
Server ='|: global .rep_svr);
ELSIF vc_rep_status NOT IN ('MARKET', 'OPENING_REPORT', 'PENDING') THEN
message (vc_rep_status |) "Report out abandoned"); "
END IF;
END;
END;

& to call

MAHSAMahsa,
Hard coding the password in your forms? And you must check in the formsweb. CFG file too.
As Andreas said, change all passwords in uppercase in the forms, formsweb.cfg, database and then check if its working or not.Kind regards

Can I use Oracle Forms 11g with 9.2.0.8.0 Data Services?
Hello world.
My Department is evaluating the development tools to create new web applications and possibly migrate current buit applications with Oracle Forms 6.0.5.34.0. Our database is Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.8.0 - 64 bit.
We read that the new version of Oracle Forms is Oracle Forms Services 11 g. Is Oracle Forms 11g compatible with Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.8.0 Services - 64 bit? or we will have to migrate our Oracle 11g RDBMS?
If our database is compatible, what would we have needed to develop and deploy applications with Oracle Forms 11 g Services?
Thanks in advance.That it is compatible or not: 9.2.0.8 database is supported, which means you get patches for it. So even if it's compatible I would opt to upgrade to a newer version, because I wouldn't feel uncomfortable that the product is not supported by out in production.
Take a look at the matrix of certification for the supported configurations
http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/downloads/FMW-11gr1certmatrix.xlsWith regard to the requirements; most of the stuff is on the forms OTN homepage:

Component report to Oracle forms 10g with LOV parameter in report
IAM trying to compose a report menu forms (Oracle 10 g) using web.show_document. Since Iam calling the report directly from menu shapes, I used web.show_document without run_report_object.
Web.show_document (v_url, '_blank');
But my problem is that I used LOV parameters in some of my reports. In this case, my stamped reports appear as text as shown below. I need to show them in the list box.
Please suggest a solution. Thanks in advance.
Hello
If you need to appear as a list, the parameter values, you must make sure that for this parameter, you go to the list of values and the list to restrict to the predetermined values checkbox. If you need the list to be unrestricted, you must implement what is described here: how to implement an alternative to the unrestricted list of values (LOV) as a parameter on the Web (Doc ID 465886.1)

Oracle forms 11g can be deployed on the WebSphere from IBM server?
I found the following paragraph regarding the Middleware components that are supported on IBM WebSphere, but this list does not specifically mention the Oracle Forms or Oracle reports. Does anyone know if Oracle Forms and reports works OK on the IBM WebSphere server? Thank you!
You can configure the following Oracle Fusion Middleware components on the servers of third-party application support:
- Oracle SOA Suite
- Oracle WebCenter Portal
- Oracle WebCenter content
- Oracle Data Integrator
- Oracle Business Intelligence
- Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle ADF)
- Oracle Application Developer Runtime
For this release of Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g, Oracle supports only IBM WebSphere Application Server as an application server third-party for these products to Oracle Fusion Middleware.
Oracle Forms/Reports 11 is not supported with WebSphere. Its installation requires the deployment in Oracle WLS 10.3.x.

Oracle Forms 11g - OFA - ADF Developer?
Hello
I am a newbie in these conditions and therefore don't know much about the difference...
I finished the developer of the OCA and now I don't know what to choose then?what I've seen online on the next certification path is
http://education.Oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getPage?page_id=5001 & get_params = p_exam_id:1Z0 - 151 & p_org_id = & lang =It's Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g: create Applications with Oracle Forms
also, I've seen some good hype about FAD and OPS being newbie I don't know what is the difference or either I can't find all of them in the lists of Certification.
which I suppose is OAF is the same as Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g: create Applications with Oracle Formsbut where is the certification of the ADF? any link
also what to choose regardless of what I have in mind.
Thank you
Concerning
Hassan Siddique(1) I guess there not available for OFA certification. However there is available land (Oracle University)
(2) well, for that you need first to decide. you want to stay with forms and develop in sql, PL/SQL (learn more about the DB), then forms is the way to go. If you enjoy working with java and develop J2EE applications, you should work with ADF. OAF I don't know much about it other that it's built on an older version of the ADF, but is more suitable for E Business Suite (it has not used both in the open community).

Copy of license Oracle Forms 11g
Hello
If anyone has idea of the conditions of licence for suite 11g Oracle Fusion Middleware. I develop an application under forms of oracle 11g, which is crucial to deploy on the web.
Company is interested in the purchase of a copy of the license. I want to know information about the license of the oracle fusion middleware 11 g. What will be the cost if 25 users connect in my web forms 11g application.
Kind regards
Prashant
E-mail: [email protected]This isn't really a technical question on the forms. Contact sales Oracle or another company that sells products to Oracle. Licensing can be quite complicated. To get an idea:

Hello
When it comes to the infrastructure to build an application on what benefits haver us with JDev11g forms 11g.
Published by: OracleBabu on June 16, 2011 07:24Forms and require all two JDev/ADF FMW, or maybe I can be more specific and say that you need a license of FMW. Oracle Forms is accredited to work on Oracle FMW and you pay a license for it. For the ADF, you can deploy on a server of Oracle applications no, but you must still license FMW - but it is possible that the actual cost is less than the license of forms (but depends on).
Here is my point of view - if you have loads of skills of forms and are already building Forms applications then it would be wise to consider forms. However, you might (and certainly consider) a long-term JDev/ADF. It could be a stand-alone well-defined project could be the perfect testbed for redevelopment of the ADF. The other point to consider is that this demand will be doing, how it will be used, and how it will be architected. If you are looking for expanded internet "self-service" applications and forms, then maybe isn't just for that. If you want to use BPM or Web Center then maybe JDev is better suited.
Just think if you were doing some DIY, you start by saying "I'll use a hammer, okay, now what's the problem"... .or you would say "what problem am I trying to solve and what tool works best. After all, if you choose a hammer and what you want to do is paint a room then its going to be very difficult for you! (o).

Oracle Forms 11g - ORA-12154: TNS error
Well, until I post my info, I searched and searched all over Google, OTN, Experts-Exchange, etc... to try and figure this one out and I am puzzled. So here goes. I get the dreaded ' * ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified * "error. This is my environment:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Server: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 version performs the following:
Oracle Database 11g (Rel 1): 11.2.0.10
Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g (rel. 11.1.1.2.0) Forms Server
I can connect via SQL + no problem
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Client: My Windows XP Professional PC.
I can't TNSPING the SID of the database, no problem.
I can connect via SQL + no problem
I can connect via TOAD to the db without problem
I can connect to Oracle Enterprise Manager through the web interface, no problem
I have 2 houses Oracle (Oracle 8.0.6, Oracle 11.1.0.1) on my PC. The current House is currently the 11g one. I have my background on my PC Setup very well.
The problem is when I try to run an example of form through the web, I created, the login prompt appears and I get my name in username/password / database SID and it is, I get the error. Of the clues as to what I should look for? Ultimately it is an application that all users will access and they should not have to worry about anything whatsoever to have installed on their PC.
Thank youKeep in mind that file tnsnames.ora forms 11g is under $ORACLE_INSTANCE/config

Development of Application Forms with Oracle Forms 11g on Windows 7
Computer configuration
-----
CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T5600
RAM: 2 GB
OS: Windows 7
-----
Installation
-----
First I installed Oracle Database 11 g Release 1 (11.1.0.6.0) ( this ), then using [Installetion Guide | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/install.1111/e10421/overview.htm#sthref12] I installed Oracle Fusion Middleware 11 g in this order:
-Error UCR ( this ) with the number of processes (150 to 500)
-Oracle WebLogic Server 11 g 1 (10.3.2) material + EPCO - Package Installer ( this ) no error
-Portal, forms, reports and discoverer (11.1.1.2.0) no error
-----
Satisfied I finally installed all components (5-6 hours) I've wound up to the bottom of all the oracle services.
On the next day service, OracleDBConsolesid has not started (after some googling I found the solution - the added folder names env variable ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID and ORACLE_HOME/oc4j/j2ee) after restart windows started.
It's background, the problem occurred when I launched Oracle Forms Builder
First error:
[MISTAKE 1 | http://imageswink.com/show.php/1327_oracle-error-4.png.html]
When I click ok it sounded there works fine but when I added the canvas has attempted to open the layout editor another error occurred:
[ERROR 2 | http://imageswink.com/show.php/1328_oracle-error-2.png.html]
And after a few seconds just application stopped responding
[ERROR 3 | http://imageswink.com/show.php/1329_oracle-error-3.png.html]
And another error when I tried to add menu (click "Menus" twice):
[ERROR 4 | http://imageswink.com/show.php/1330_oracle-error-5.png.html]
What I am doing wrong?
What is the best windows (stable) + oracle configuration?
I am a student and I just have to do for my class...
Thanks in advanceOracle Database XE with Weblogic 10.3.2 + PFRD installed 11.1.1.2 should work perfectly for a stand-alone development environment.
For a development environment independent (assuming that's what you try to do) you don't need RCU, or OID or SSO, something like that.
Hope that helps you.
