Mousepad won't scroll in Firefox

I know that this question has been asked before by others, but none of the sons had a response of work and are not likely to invite the new because they are a bit old now.

My touchpad/mouse pad Vaio scroll in Firefox. It works in other programs (format PDF, Internet Explorer, etc.) and if a pdf document is open in a Web page in Firefox, which allows to scroll, but normal Web pages don't. The wheel on a USB mouse works fine, it's just the function of scrolling on the touchpad.

I've updated the computer, look for the driver updates, uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, turned the computer on and off, cleared cache etc. and practically everything I can think or saw in these forums and elsewhere, but nothing works.

Help, please! Thank you.

Sometimes my vertical scrollbar in the browser and other applications gets locked at the top or bottom of the page and there is no way for me to view the page without having to reboot my thinkpad. Place content in the container and wrap it in ScrollView.

  • Overflow of text not scrolling in Firefox, but working in IE

I have two pages on my site that have areas of text with text overflow in the text boxes.

I have external css files linked to the pages, and they work fine in Internet Explorer.  They work, but not in Firefox.  The problem I am having in Firefox is:

    1. the up and down arrows do not work for scrolling.

    2. the roll of the mouse will not move the content inside the text box.

    3. when typing the scroll bar, you must find the bar to change the color on the same right of the bar and take it right there and drag it down to move.

I did do that for very long, but the code works correctly in Internet Explorer.  The links to the pages in question are

With the fist off the coast, most people won't see the page as you intended because Nosfer isn't a standard bone and unless police that people download then they will see just plain Roman text.

Your code is valid, but it seems that this has to do with absolute positioning.  Absolute position elements, breaking the flow of the document and must be arranged according to their external container.  You have Maincontent and menucontent right next to the other and content of the menu has a higher z-index.  Then you position the menu using fill to the top.  What you're left with is that the layer covering the maincontent and making it inaccessible. Think of it as a window with the sticker from the manufacturer on the bottom.  What you see is the label outside of the window and the layer beneath it.

You can do two things.  Is first of all to remove absolute positioning, since in this container areas seem to be positioned over another or change the positioning of the menucontent positioning it absolutely to the position defined elements, such as "bottom: 0;" to place down rather than positioning with padding.

  • Some web pages do not have the installation of scrolling in Firefox, but they do in Safari, I would like to solve this problem.

On some web pages, for example http://www.zen169231.zen.co.uk/jimsplace/beginwinders.htm (and others), by clicking on another topic, the page appears without a scroll bar and does not scroll with the mouse wheel either. This only happens in Firefox and Safari, I do not normally use as I prefer Firefox. Thank you very much.

This problem seems to occur in popup windows, or can it happen in any window? The reason why I mention pop-up windows is that there is a bug in Firefox 38 with the following combination of circumstances:

    (1) viewing a page in a private browsing window
    (2) tabbed browsing is powered down
    (3) you click on a link that launches the link in a new window (because the site code the link with target = "_blank")

The new window opens without menus, toolbar, scroll bars, etc.

Work on this bug is in progress, but I don't know if the fix will be available in the coming weeks. These are the known workarounds so you can continue using windows browsing private - one of them will work around the bug:

    (1) use tabbed browsing (there is a checkbox in the preferences > General > "Open new windows in a new tab instead");

    (2) shift + click the links to open in a new window with standard features. or

    (3) change a bunch of hidden settings as explained below - it will not you make changes to the way you use Firefox, but sometimes you need to enlarge some small pop-up windows that have been sized for a window with no toolbar displayed.

    # 3, here are the steps:

    (A) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press enter/return. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (B) in the search above the list box, type or paste feat and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (C) for each preference that begins with dom.disable_window_open_feature. , if it is not 'true', double-click it to true.

You may find that you prefer this anyway, given that sites can band is more these pop-up windows features.

  • Can not scroll in Firefox except when I click two times to change the size. How can I change this?

When I open a document in my mail from GoDaddy that I accessed through Firefox (Mozilla), I have to open it; can do small; then expand until I can scroll down. Is it possible to change this? My computer is HP Envy. Thank you very much!

    Hi LuckyLady,
Thank you for your question, I understand that you have to make the text smaller and then zoom in to enlarge until the web page allows to scroll.

Scrolling preferences are in the Options Menu. However I also noticed that you are in an older version of Firefox. Please update to the latest version to see if the problem has been fixed in the latest version. Update Firefox to the latest version

  • Common Web site does not scroll with Firefox the fact with Explorer

Finally, I installed firefox for the first time yesterday. I was impressed by the speed. I have windows XP, which was new at the time on my laptop Compaq Presario V5000. I was unable to download Explorer 8 and the other 2 options on the Ford Motor Co. Web site were Firefox and Chrome. I chose Firefox. When I go on the web site of Ford - photos do not one side to side - scroll and they load partially below the first set of photos on Firefox (the top of page 1/3 of the bottom row to see the pictures) when I load the Explorer on these pictures together and correct scroll and the partial line does not show and which would be correct. On the positive side, in addition to the speed, the list of options and standard equipment truck scrolls up and down properly. On explore, it is difficult to maintain in position when scrolling. In addition, my concern is the antivirus protection and antispyware - I use the free microsoft protection - but I think if you use firefox I don't have. In addition the site Ford when I try to play videos - it says I need flash player - and then it trys to install and used.

Your list of details of the system shows that you have Shockwave Flash 11.9 installed r900.

You can check the version of the plugin Flash here:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.
  • Fuzzy letters on websites when scrolling in Firefox 19 (with either smooth scrolling active / disabled)

    Hello

Recently, I updated to Firefox 19, and since I had some problems when scrolling on Web sites: some lines/letters fade.
I did some research online and found a trick to disable smooth scrolling, so I only have restarted Firefox, but the issue is still not resolved.
I have not had this problem until the recent upgrade.
Is this a known issue? Is there a solution to this?
If no, how are we going to go back to the previous version of Firefox, I can only find the download links to the latest version...

    Thank you

Hello Santuzzo, try turning off hardware acceleration and check again.

  • How can I disable the "smooth" scrolling in firefox?

Since I installed Firefox 13.0, scroll to the bottom of pages went a little smoother. My PC is a bit old, so when I played in a youtube tab and I'm scrolling smoothly into another, whenever I scroll the music stops for as long as I scroll down. As a sort of lag, but my internet connection is good.

so my question is; How can I turn off this feature, so I can listen to music without the stops when scrolling?

Hello, you can disable smooth scrolling and return to the old behavior in tools > options > advanced > general

  • Positioning / scrolling problem Firefox and Safari

I apparently inadvertently changed the CSS for my website www.truckeerotary.com. In IE7 pages are centered and when there is too long the page scrolls down. In Firefox and Safari, the page is pushed to the far left and locked in place. There are two style sheets used. Rotary.CSS and style.css

I checked the code but I'm missing something. New to Dreamweaver and I'm still working through the correct syntax for CSS

Thank you Nancy solve the problem. Frustrating how a simple element as' fixed' can cause so much agrevation! Without people like you, many new users would most likely give upward!

  • AOL mail won't open in Firefox and guess what is the solution?

Oddly enough, this also occurs in Firefox, Chrome and IE9. Scanned for malware with no result. Finally, I downloaded surprise and AOL desktop, I can now open AOL mail, but only in their office. This seems to be blackmail and coercion by AOL. I say this because this problem is VERY common on the net with all browsers. The other possibilities?

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".
  • When I play videos from VIMEO, all I get is the image and no sound. They work fine on IE, but suddenly won't be on Firefox. With the help of Windows 8.1.

This just started today. (I believe that yesterday there was an 8.1 automatic Windows Update when I shutdown - don't know if that is related.) Anyway, when I click on a video VIMEO - video VIMEO ALL - everything I get is video (photo), but no sound.

If I go to the same link in Internet Explorer, the same VIMEO video and audio play perfectly.

Videos from other sites, Youtube, etc all work seamlessly in a browser.

    Simple solutions for this fix?

I use a desktop computer Dell XPS 8700 relatively new with Windows 8.1.

Nevermind - I just ran an update of Firefox, and that seems to fix the problem.
