I'm under Ubuntu 11.04, my Logitech Marble Mouse has no ability to "scroll" in Firefox. It worked fine in Ubuntu 9.04. Is it possible to address this and have scroll in Marble Mouse and Firefox?

Firefox version 5
Logitech mouse marble trackball

I got it working (mouse marble, 11.04 ubu, chrome and firefox):
1. I installed gpointing-device-settings (appears in the gnome-control-panel as a pointing device). Middle-click check if you want, then scroll wheel with 8 key emulation (= small left button). Scrolling to check and validate.
2. check that firefox is configured as shown here: http://www.ehow.com/how_7390615_do-logitech-marble-mouse-scrolling_.html

  • Firefox has suddenly started to open a new tab when I update an existing tab. How can I prevent this and get Firefox to not do that?

Without explanation Firefox now opens a new tab when I try to update an existing one. Worse still, I have to click on the new tab to get the Update window. This happened after I downloaded the last download nightly (64-bit). Hope someone out there can let me know how to solve this problem, because it will force me to another browser if I can't solve it.

I need to download a driver?

It would be difficult to say that you haven't told us the manufacturer and model of the flash player.
Neither you told us what version, edition and level of service pack of Windows® you are running.
All of the above information is important to answer your question!

Please note, however, that in Windows® XP Service Pack 3 , drivers are not necessary for newer flash players. If you have not upgraded to the SP2 minimum, you can have trouble reading flash drives. Download and installation of the SP3 may solve your problem.

In addition, your hardware supports USB 2.0? If this isn't the case, you may need to install a separate USB controller to use flash drives. See the documentation for your system.

If you have SP3 and your hardware supports USB 2.0, answer these questions and we will take it from there...

No member of this forum is omniscient. You just have to tell us about your hardware.

  • I am updating of content in an old site and uses an old extension to close a page of the child. It worked fine until I started using CS6. The code for this is in a model that I use and the code has not changed.

So the site is www.fulcrumcwi.com and the URL of the page is: FulcrumCWI Rebecca Morgan operations strategy Consulting newsletters.

If you choose the first HTML link for the news bulletin when you try to use the close buttons, none of them work. Yet if you go down in the January issue and switch to the HTML version, it works very well. This is the code that the extension highlights:

    < form >

    < input name = "Close" onclick = "self.close (); return false"type ="button"value ="Close"/ >

    < / make >

I have not changed somehow. The only change is I use Dreamweaver CS6 to make these changes. Does anyone have a solution for me?

As always, thanks in advance. (and Yes, I know that this site needs a major update)

  • YouTube freezes or crashes firefox but works fine in Internet Explorer

Every time shoot youtube in Firefox it immediately freezes or crashes with the whole browser. the only thing I can do is close Firefox via the Task Manager. This happens every time. It used to work fine. I have disable even speed up the video. Nothing seems to work. The only time where this kind of work is when I uninstall and reinstall firefox or flash player. Then the first time I have pull up to youtube, it works fine but when I close the browser, then re-open it and go on youtube, I have exact the same problem as before.

Firefox will pull up to youtube without problem when I uninstall the Flash Player (of course can not see the videos then), but after the installation of youtube freezes.

Also Internet Explorer out of the youtube videos great, like Firefox, used to do. Don't know what the problem is or what has happened, but youtube immediately freezes or crashes Firefox when Flash Player is installed in firefox

Hey guys I think we have a solution for this one. More often the case, the glitch is not with FF but with some plugin or incompatible piece of SW.

Troubleshooting: Uninstall FF, uninstall flashplayer, uninstall all toolbars in the browser add ons etc. (if necessary, use Adobe Flash uninstaller (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html#main_Download_the_Adobe_Flash_Player_uninstaller)

Reinstall the latest FF and latest Flash Player version.

DO NOT add, activate, fix anything else at all. Just naked FF and only most recent flash player.

If you had Zone Alarm toolbar add the earlier and have uninstalled and reinstalled do not, FF is likely to pullup videos youtube without problem.

Zone alarm toolbar is incompatible with FF when installing Flash Player and pulling upward on a youtube page.

It is likely that other toolbars can also be incompatible so just install the naked browser and then the Flashplayer. If it works you can begin to reinstall addons etc one by one.

    • You did changes in mouse button settings using the Logitech mouse software?

Try to reset the mouse options and check if that helps.

  • How can I remove search Inbox Firefox under Ubuntu 14.01 & restore Google Search

A search engine called "Inbox" has replaced google in Ubuntu 14.01. How can I remove this "Inbox" of ubuntu search engine?

I deleted in the Add-ons Manager add and restarted, but it's still the search engine.

Do you mean it is listed as one of your many plugins available in the search bar search? You can use the "Manage search engines" dialog to remove search plugins. Please see this article for more details: use the Firefox search bar.

    Success?

  • Using Firefox under Ubuntu, I often get a Javascript error message that says error evalinSandbox: SyntaxError:syntax. How can I fix?

It happens on most, but not all, pages I visit. After you close the error message, another pops up saying "error: syntax error." Close this window to display the initial error again and the process repeats five or six times. Finally, windows will stop popping up and I'll be able to visit the Web site, but whenever I go to a different Web page error messages again. I've updated Firefox and Ubuntu for the latest versions.

Hello, this error message is typically caused by the social Fixer addon & can be resolved by updating to the latest version available at http://socialfixer.com/blog/category/releasenotes/

  • Logitech bluetooth mouse M557 keep disconnecting

Just bought a mouse Logitech bluetooth mouse (M557) a few days ago. It was easy to have detected it, however, I realize it loses connection every time that the macbook is left idle for a period of time (a few minutes)... Very annoying, because it seems impossible to reactivate the connection other than logging on my session (or computer reboot) and only then it will reconnect by itself.

I am also newly on OSX 10.11.3 (I read a few concerns about the Bluetooth under El Capitan...) so I was wondering if the mouse is the problem, or if it is related to OSX.

Since the price tag on the Logitech is not much lower than the Apple mouse, also I was wondering if I would be more successful with the Apple mouse, I still can return the Logitech at this point...

  • Logitech USB mouse does not work after the upgrade to Windows 7

I have a HP Pavilion DV6XXX laptop computer series (MS Vista Home Premium has been loaded from the factory), recently updated with Windows 7 Home Premium. It is then this problem began.

Wherever I am, everything I do (typing, surfing, reading) my cursor made a break of about 3 seconds, 26-28 seconds. This interruption is making me crazy! Everything what I'm typing, the cursor becomes unavailable for 3 seconds. Everything I typed is gone.

My laptop has a touchpad, but I use a Logitech USB mouse. I can't disable my touchpad, but that does not change. In addition, it is matter if I type or not: my cursor disappears for 3 seconds, 26-28 seconds. I can sit and watch it. I have disabled the touchpad, unplugged the USB mouse, find the updated HP drivers and Synaptics to nothing does not.

    Looking for other suggestions.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have problems using the mouse effectively on Windows 7 computer.

    (1) what is the Logitech mouse model number?

In the meantime, please follow the following suggestions to solve the problem.

Method 1: Try to put your system in a clean boot state, which helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

Note: Referring to "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" under more information to prepare the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting.

Method 2: You can follow the link and identify and correct the mouse, touchpad and keyboard problems in Windows.

  • Updated on Windows7 + blank white screen now but which works fine under Ubuntu why?

I had 14 of Firefox running on Windows 7 and no problems. I've updated again Firefox and when I connected to the Internet, I got was a white screen. Well connected, went well on the site, but did not address tab only in the web address bar and nothing on the page. I tried Internet Explorer and that worked well. Then I stopped and restarted in Ubuntu and tried my Firefox version 22 and it worked fine so I think that something is wrong with the new version of Firefox with Windows 7 now. I don't want to lose all my passwords or I uninstall Firefox and reinstall. If you can tell me how to save my passwords in Firefox 26 (latest version as of 16/01/2014) I'll try to uninstall and reinstall. Thanks for any help you can give me. I prefer to make a fix on this instead of Firefox. I use Ubuntu now send this.

Thanks Philipp, but I solved the problem. I selected control screen and saved all my passwords in Firefox to another program. Then, I downloaded Firefox 23 (stable version) of the Internet Explorer browser on a USB key. Then, I used CC Cleaner uninstall Firefox on my laptop. I chose to keep my apps and personal information when CC Cleaner asked me if I wanted to (it's free http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner or Google it). Then I installed the stable 23 version of Firefox to my USB key. Start Firefox and everything works great. The problem is a problem with the new version of Firefox, and it's a real problem that should be fixed by Mozilla very soon.
