move my cd burner to another computer

I need to copy the disk to a different computer cd burner

You shouldn't have to copy anything - most often a CD/DVD drive is simply recognized and used by the system so well connected.

my laptop is dying, I can move my hard drive to another computer and still use vista coa?

    Hello

It depends on the type of license you have, as to whether you can transfer it or not.

Pre-installed Licenses OEM (HP, Acer, etc.) and the Microsoft System Builder OEM licenses are tied to the first machine that they are installed on and channels of license when this machine dies.

    OEM licenses are not transferable.

If you have purchased your own license for sale retail of Windows and installed yourself, yes you can transfer it to another computer.

    Retail licenses are transferable.

Just be sure that you have only installed on one machine at a time.

A single license means one Installation.

And if it is retail and transfer you, in all likelihood will have to reinstall the operating system, as this disc hard the 'old' aura card mother drivers installed, which will cause starting problems.

    See you soon.

  • How can I move a product registered to another computer?

How can I move a product registered to another computer?

    Hi Fred,.

To transfer the license from one pc to another how to proceed is to 'Disable' the license first of the older machine.

To accomplish this, you need to launch Acrobat, go to the 'Help' menu and select 'disable '.

On the new machine, you can install Acrobat and then use the serial number to 'Turn on' the software and it will complete the transfer of license.

You can refer to the KB Doc: Activation & deactivation help

    Kind regards

  • How to move a contract (EULA) to another computer

To save a dying computer my software, I want to use a disk imaging program, but the Windows operating system will know it's on another box. The manufacturer of the imaging software disc confirms that this will be a problem. How can I get permission to spend my EULA license (and instructions for how this)? I need to a PHONE or ADDRESS e-mail to Microsoft WHO to contact specifically. Poking around the site of this great company, I was unable to find one.

"tahd Petun" wrote in message News: 8ee8d0f8-699a-45ce-a56f-2e786555eb8a...

Ouch! I'm completely out of luck? The XP I came preinstalled. Although no key label is affixed to the box, I found the key ID and product using an application called KeyFinder CD, if that helps. I also have another copy of XP, "Shrink Wrap", with my own label key. However, it is my understanding that if I installed XP on the new computer, and then copy the disk image, the disk image will overwrite the XP I just installed. If I copy the disc image on it first, and then install my XP "Shrink Wrap" after that, I just replace the disk image, right? Is there no way out of this catch-22? Microsoft has to be a way to solve this problem? The EULA indicates explicitly that I have the right to move from XP to another PC. But I can't find any way to contact Microsoft about how to proceed, if there is indeed a way.

The issue here is not just avoiding grief to reinstall everything. I have backups of my data and new versions of the software that I lost the CD for, or are more supported, or for which the original CD is no longer install - company bought by a 3rd party, etc.). But the available versions of these 3 products (Visual FoxPro, Protools and Vegas Video) refused to install on a XP box, I recently bought (not all at the same time, either in a case, not at all). After several days of trying with the help of their forums, personal support tech and Geek Squad (who could find nothing wrong with the new PC itself), I returned the PC to the seller. Just maybe, it was a hardware problem with this (refurbished) PC? But I'm afraid of thinking to buy yet another and passing through the same agony.

Earlier versions of the 3 products, all of which are still working happily on the old PC and they make what I need if I could simply move elsewhere. The old PC is no longer prints Burns is no longer CD, often refuses to close, sometimes loses the ability to cut and paste and sometimes Windows Media Player runs faster than the normal speed. Even if all these questions are related to the software (corrupted XP?), this PC lived 4 years of constant use and will soon die, no matter what I do...

OEM Licenses cannot be moved to a new computer.
In your situation, however there may be a workaround solution, if your XP "Shrink Wrap" is of the same one (Home or Pro) OEM edition.
If to make Imaging correctly, the system will want to reinstall anyway, as the HAL is very likely to be compatible.
You must create a disk for SP3 slipstreamed using XP "Shrink Wrap" and then use it and install his key for repair.
    Work done :)

If the system does not need a repair installation - then use the product update tool key to change the key to "Shrink Wrap" (after the move!)

  • USB-6008 how to move an executable file to another computer.

Hello Forums NOR!  Please bear with me as I'm new to products OR as well as this forum.  Hope I have write in good advice.  I'm an electronics technician with over 30 years of experience in a variety of hardware and software that is trying to move an executable file from an old computer to Windows XP on a new computer Win 8.

First of all, I just moved the file .exe itself.   When it is run, it produces an error dialog box: "Unable to locate the LabVIEW run-time engine" "this executable requires a 2011 version (or compatible) LabVIEW Run - Time Engine."

Then I ran the installation disc driver supplied with the USB-6008 module.  Now, the executable will start but it does not seem to connect with the USB-6008, because it does not have the digital I/o.

I can run NI MAX and see the USB module as well as test the analog and the digital I/o so I know the hardware works.

I've been surfing on the knowledge base and found references to .dll & .vi type support files, but have no idea of which ones to get and where they might be.

This is possible without having to recompile the exe file?  I have no access to the source files.

    Thank you!

  • You try to transfer files to movie maker collection file to another computer

I'm in the middle of a Movie Maker project and enjoy this project with me on my laptop. I know that I can save the project and transfer this file as well as all my media on my laptop easily, but I would lose all my files collection. I have more than 10 records with not less than 10 files each, nearly 10 hours of work. Is it possible to transfer the collection folder information?

I don't think that there is a way to do it. You might try to transfer all and change the file directories in your project.

    Anyway,.
If you want to try something. I would advise to make sure you have a backup of your project.

  • How can I move Photoshop Elements 9 to another computer?

I recently got a new computer, and I tried to change Photoshop Elements 9 to it from my old laptop.  I had PSE9 included with a bamboo tablet and I don't have the box so I don't know what is the serial number. When I try and save it as a product on my adobe account nothing happens.  Help?

If you didn't save it before and you don't have the serial number, I fear that you won't be able to install it.

  • move the cloud license to another computer for a week

On the home computer download you and install the application from the website creative.adobe.com.

After a week, use the same workflow to get the app working on laptop.

  • I moved my hard drive to another computer and once connected to windows told me that I need to activate windows?

Once logged into windows, it tells me that I need to activate windows. I click Yes to activate and it tells me that windows is already activated, click OK and it returns me to my log in page over and over. Why? and what to do about it?

Because you are allowed to install and activate Windows on ONE computer and product activation has now determined that you try to use the installation on another computer.  If it is a retail version of Windows XP and if you move the installation to new hardware call Microsoft and explain the problem.  If it is an OEM version, like a Dell or HP installation and if you move it to another computer that you are to the top of the Creek with this, you are not allowed to move an installation OEM on another computer, it is linked to the computer on which it was sold with and he will die with this computer.

  • Files adjusted in Lightroom transfer to another computer if you need to reload the image files?

I'm used to make adjustments in Camera RAW and copy the image files for use on multiple workstations.  In this case, my settings go with the image file.  If I do my settings using Lightroom and move the image files to another computer I'll lose these adjustments?  I wonder if I invest all my time adjustment using Lightroom and my computer freezes I'll lose these adjustments even if I am backing up my files to an external drive.

You wrote: "if I do my settings using Lightroom and move the image files to another computer I lose these adaptations?

Yes, you will lose them unless you save in xmp. You're saving xmp is pressing the CTRL / Cmd + letter "S" or

    (a) in the library Module, you'll > metadata > save metadata to file, or

    (b) in the develop Module, you'll > Photo > save metadata to file.

Without , Lr writes the changes to the catalog only. And, if you transfer pictures without the catalog to another computer your changes will be lost on the second computer.

By an xmp file will be created that stores changes. In the case of a DNG format changes are not written in Xmp, but in the file header - same effect.

Note, however, that not everything can be stored in xmp files. For example, collections, stacking are stored in the catalog only.

This is probably because the record to xmp has been created to allow adjustment of Lr can be accessed in other Adobe products (for example, bridge). Naturally, only those "features" should be written in xmp that the other program can display.
